Our first family trip to Disney was a few months ago and our son was on a mission to find a toy version of Chick Hicks, the antagonist from the first Pixar Cars movie. We looked in a bunch of places but didn't find anything. Because my husband is a sucker, he immediately got on eBay when we got home and bought one, still in the package, and has hinted that Chick Hicks might be a birthday present.

Because I'm also a sucker, I booked us for 2 nights at AoA cars suite, checking in the day after son's 4th birthday.

I'm trying to come up with fun ways for son to "find" Chick Hicks. One idea I had was placing Chick Hicks in the AoA gift shop and letting son wander around and discover it...but my husband thinks that would be inconveniencing the cast members (adding merchandise that is not in their inventory and then having to pretend to pay for it)

I would love to hear some other ideas!

How about making up a note a special note from Lightning McQueen and then "finding" in the room along with a special gift. "Hey, buddy, I heard you needed a Chick Hicks racecar, and even though he's a big rival of mine, I wanted to make sure you had one so you can relive all of our big races - Ka-Chow!" Something like that, anyway - have fun with it!

Always nice hearing about the little ones and the Magic of Disney. So neat about your little boy. And a very Happy Birthday wish for him, he'll be in 7th heaven at AoA! And kudos to your hubby, a good dad there.

Great idea, Brian. I had to look up Ka-Chow, never really paid attention to it in the movies. Great idea.

I would do a DIY in-room celebration at check-in. One parent stays with son, while the other checks-in and decorates the room with Chick Hicks gift. Then you guys all go up together to see the magical surprise.

This is how I got a Cast member involved and made a Birthday Magical----- I had gotten beautiful invitations and wrote them out like Cinderella was inviting the kids for a birthday breakfast. I asked the lady at the front desk if she would play along...... She went over board it was amazing. She called my phone and asked to speak to my daughter (s) and said that some special visitors were at the front desk looking for me. We went back and she apologized that we just missed the prince as he had another appointment to keep but he.drooped off an invitation. It was so magical and the lady at the front desk said these kind of things were her favorite. Just an idea of how to add in a cast member. I don't know Toy story very well but I am sure you can come up with a reason why you are being called back to the desk.
