DisneyClown & all others waiting for SW summer fares to drop...

This is not good & I'm gettin' worried. Southwest has raised all the rates for my dates. We may need to change airlines for our return flight. My outbound fare (which I scored for $67) has now risen to $85 (still pretty good IMO), but that nasty return flight rate that WAS $147....is now $152 :scared1:!!!! It's the first time this fare has changed since being released in Dec. What does this say...other than this is a popular flight time/day? Can folks REALLY be booking at this $147 fare?

I realize we're returning after a holiday (4th of July) and a lot of folks are probably trying to fly home, but it's a Tuesday for cripes sakes :confused3 .

I'm just hoping SW is doing some sort of fake out and it fails and they HAVE to drop this rate.

A girl CAN dream can't she? :rotfl:

I'll be rooting for you to get a good fare! I wouldn't panic JUST yet. We're still 4 months out!

We're also waiting, and now I'm starting to get nervous...:scared1:

We looking for 5 RT out of BOS...June 26-July 8. I also 'play around' with the dates a bit, even airports (Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale.....), and NOTHING seems to be under $300..and that's not even for nonstop!!! These are for layovers, midnight flights, changing planes, ..they just keep going up, up, up!

I REALLY don't want to do the 23 hr drive again.....we've driven the past few times, and we promised the kids we'd fly. But it's not looking tooo good right now :sad2:

Keeping my fingers crossed

The best I good get out of STL for June 18th -27th was 131 for the trip down and 182 for the return. since I booked last week it has gone up to 151 down and 187 back.:scared1:

STILL WAITING!!!!!
Just about hitting $400 r/t....
I should have just booked it back when we "kinda knew we were going, but weren't quite sure of the exact dates" a few months ago. It was around $180 r/t......:headache:

I guess I should schedule an appointment for a maintence check on the minivan...:sad2:

I finally gave up waiting. The airfare from Salt Lake to Orlando kept going up. I finally ended up booking Delta for less than the flights I wanted on SW. Even with the extra bag charge. I bought them on Orbitz so if somebody books the same flight for a lower price, I get a refund. It cost me $900 for 2 tickets for July1-8.

I've watched the flight we want (to return home on) rise from $152 to $158 then back to $152, and it's been holding there.

Are they purposely trying to drive me crazy  :lmao: .

I'm seriously contemplating pricing another airline, but I really didn't want to do that. It just seems it would make things less complicated to stay with one airline. But...I may have no choice. Then, as soon as I do that, the prices will drop  .

I can't remember if the SW policy has changed or not but, if I book, say, a 11am flight then the 3 pm flight drops & I want to re-book that, do I get a penalty for re-booking a different flight # & time?

thank goodness I booked when I did my flights are up to 190 down and 212 on the return:scared1:

No, you do not incur a pentaly with SW if you book for a different time, day, flight, etc. That's the greatest thing about SW!

so, what's the deal with August fares? Do they really stay this high? Is August considered peak travel time? Some of the fares seem really high right now. Is it safe to wait another month?

Did you ever find a good price for the return leg of your trip?
