Disney YES Program Open to non-groups

I put Oct 15-Nov 5.

Aren't there valid dates on the back of your tickets? Ours said exactly when they were valid, start and end dates. It was 7 days prior to the start date I gave them when registering, and 7 days after then end date I gave them. I think I recall reading somewhere on this thread that they couldn't be valid for more than 30 days though, so if your dates spanned more than a 30 day period, they wouldn't cover your entire trip. So, I'd think your tickets would be valid 10/8-11/7 or something like that.

When we purchased our YES tickets, I remember reading that they do not expire after 14 days. I read that they are good up to 7 days before your arrival date to 7 days after your departure date. I was a little confused on that because I wasn't sure why you would need them before you arrive or after you depart, but I remember a few people on dis saying that is one of the many benefits of purchasing the YES tickets. When we picked up our tickets, on the back it states, valid from Oct 17-Oct 31. We are here from Oct 15-Nov 5th. Does anyone know about the expiration? If they are in fact valid for the entire length of our trip, does anyone know where it states this? If I had of known it was only 14 days, we would have done a later class. We had planned on visiting a park the day before we leave. Either way we'll make it work, but now it's bugging me where I read that lol.

I would call. They are supposed to be valid for 7 days before and after your trip. There was a glitch with mine-I was there for 10 days in July, and mY dates were good for pretty much the whole summer (June and July!). Sounds like someone just typed it in wrong.

Please let us know what you find out.

If they have changed their date policy, I will need to rethink our plans in June.

They messed the dates up on our tickets and our were valid from
2/22/2011-8/27/2011, LOL. We arrived on 8/9, but 2/22 was the day we registered. If the dates are wrong, call. They can fix them if they are too short. They didn't mess with ours since it was too long.

I'm going to call in the morning but I figured I'd see if anyone here already knew the answer to my question.

Can we register for the classes and then have them date the tickets for later in the year or do we need those actual tickets to get into the class?

We already have APs but there are 2 classes that ODD could take during our trip so I was going to sign her up for those and just suck up the 3day-starter package cost for her but then I noticed the 8 day premium package ticket wasn't much more and if she could save that until we went in the summer then she could go to the water parks and it wouldn't be a total waste of a ticket.

Has anyone asked about this already and can share what they were told?

TIA!!

Yeah! looks like they finally added more dates for 2012 for individual enrollment.

Edit, got over excited. it was land, not world. My bad:confused3

Should I expect any Individual classes next October? I was sure there were some this year.

We will be at WDW Oct.13-20, 2011. I was sure hoping to find classes for a 10 and 5 year old.

Can my mom take my daughter and be her adult or does she need to have a legal guardian with her?

I spoke with a rep with the YES program a few weeks ago about taking my niece. The website stated that it had to be a parent but the rep I spoke with said that I could take my niece. I am sure if an Aunt qualifies then a Grandparent should also qualify.

I just called and the woman confirmed that there will be no individual enrollment during March and April because of spring break.

We met at the TTC around 7:15 and the kids were split into small groups; I think there were 7 kids in our group. We hopped on the monorail and went to the MK.

Since my kids are older; parental involvement was discouraged. I may be vague about the specifics because I tended to wander from the group. I had a friend with her kids in the younger class and parental involvement was encouraged.

Our first stop was Liberty Square. Kim (our instructor) talked about the Constitution, states' representation, and the Presidents. The highlight of the class: we got to go on stage with the animotronic Presidents! It was absolutely fascinating. The CM in charge of the Presidents was there to answer questions and I was able to continue our conversation after the class moved on. WOW!

On to Frontierland to discuss the wild west and the gold rush. The kids participated in a bartering activity.

We were first in line to ride Splash Mountain and next went to Big Thunder Mountian. Then, back to the Hall of Presidents to watch the show.

After the show, all the students gathered around the Liberty Bell with a chance to ring it; also very cool. At the end of class, all students received a copy of the Decalration of Independence.

All in all, a great experience.

That sounds like so much fun! I hope they offer this class during our dates!

My son participated in the American Story class on October 14th. It was so fun and educational. He says it was the highlight of his week at Disney. He's already asked if they'll let him do two classes when we go back next year for fall break. He highly recommends this class to any student who enjoys a little history and likes Splash Mountain/BTMRR.

This thread is great! I am hoping there will be open enrollment classes this Summer. Thanks for all the great information!

We just scheduled our trip for next September. My son wants to be a marine biologist when he grows up and I think he would love the making waves class. Our dates are the 14th - 23rd. Are these dates typically included and when would those classes normally be open for me to reserve. Thanks in advance.

Sandy

We finally got it sorted out. I called and gave all of our information. She said the tickets should be valid until Nov 19th and told us to go to guest relations at one of the parks or DTD. We went to DTD yesterday and they said they could not cancel or alter our current tickets (which expire Oct 31st). Instead, they issued us another set of tickets valid from Nov 1-19th with 3 additional park days and 7 additional WP & more passes.

 Thank you for letting us know.

I am so glad I don't have to change plans.

Hope you are making wonderful memories!

I just finish reading the entire thread - wow!!:surfweb:

We are homeschoolers traveling Oct 2012. We are hoping for either open enrollment or Homeschool Days during that time. I guess we'll need some pixie dust! :tinker:
