Disney YES Program Open to non-groups

Has anyone been successful changing class dates? I am thinking about moving our trip up.

I have shared a little information about the YES program with a co-worker. Just some of the things that I have learned here. I have never participated. She is VERY interested in her 5 year old attending the How Things Move class in February. He will love it.

I have sent her to this board and she has read and read and read. Is there a place with the "bottom line" information?

She is wondering...

1) Individual enrollment- Does this really mean ANY non-home schooling person can attend? She would like to attend with her son. He has not entered kindergarten yet. The Disney site makes it look like you are signing up a group or something.

2) The price of tickets on the YES Disney page- this is the same price for children and adults? As well, she does not need to pay for the class as they will only be attending ONE class. Any specifics on this would be helpful.

3) Do the ticket packages start 7 days before the class and expire 7 days after?

4) When and where can she pick up the tickets?

5) What if a family emergency occurs? Can the tickets and class be rescheduled?

We know this information is somewhere on this thread, but we are struggling to find the lastest information. She is super thoughtful and wants to do things exactly correct.

Thank you for any advice and sorry if we are repeating.

If you are signing up through the Individual Enrollment page, you do not need to be part of a group.

Any specifics on this would be helpful. Yes, prices are the same for children and adults. If she is only attending one class, it is already included in the ticket price.

3) Do the ticket packages start 7 days before the class and expire 7 days after? They are valid for 7 days before and after the dates YOU provide during registration. They are not tied to the date of the class, but rather to YOUR vacation dates.

4) When and where can she pick up the tickets?

5) What if a family emergency occurs? Can the tickets and class be rescheduled? They are non-refundable. I have read of people getting refunds, and I have read of people being able to reschedule, but I wouldn't count on it. While it is POSSIBLE, it isn't guaranteed.

I've answered what I could. HTH :goodvibes

We just got back from a how things move class. We did have to leave the class a little early due to the class was running over time (late start) and we had a BBB appt. that morning. It was nice being in the park with it empty (but you couldn't take any pictures of the park :( )

Why can you not take pictures?

Can someone tell me if the extra options on your YES program tickets like the waterparks and Disney Quest work after the date on your tickets? I know that with regular park tickets they are good until used but was not sure about the yes programs.

From what I have read here - the dates that will be printed on the tickets will be 7 days before and 7 days after the dates YOU give them as your arrival and departure. They are not viable after the dates printed.

I just want to make sure you understand that regular tickets expire 14 days from first use unless you had the no expiration option. As the other poster said, the YES tickets expire 7 days after the date you tell them is your last day at Disney World.

I just called and the woman confirmed that there will be no individual enrollment during March and April because of spring break.

I wonder if they will offer individual enrollment during Presidents week.

We did the Science class in September and it was quite good. And the ticket prices cant be beat.

To my knowledge, there has never been individual enrollment in March or April. They may have had some dates in late May last year, but I'm not sure.

Thanks everyone-I have found this thread very helpful! We have purchased our Y.E.S tickets for individual enrolment for our trip in Feb 2012. W are staying off site this year, so it worked out perfectly.

Would anyone know......since my parents will be there before us, would they be able to pick our tickets up for us ahead of time (as long as they have my confirmation number)?

If not, I dont want to be waiting in line the morning after we arrive, perhaps delaying our first day park visit. Is my next best option going down to DTD the night we arrive and picking them up there?

Thanks again everyone-everyone's input on this site has been greatly appreciated :thumbsup2

Pretty sure it was June 14 for the first date after the winter (Jan/Feb(?)) Individual enrollment options for WDW (I have a sheet I printed in Apr 2011 that shows June 14 as the first date).

Has the YES individual enrollment been available during the summer? We are going mid-July. Thanks!

A while back someone posted last years YES schedule and I remember seeing classes being offered in June & July. Not everyday - just a couple times/week, if I remember correctly.
HTH

In 2011, it was offered July 4, July 11, 12, 18, 20, 21, 26 and 28, depending on the class :) (yes, still have that reference sheet I printed in Apr 2011)

I'm pretty sure your parents will NOT be able to pick up your tickets for you. I had listed things under my husbands name first, but both of our info was on the confirmations and all that, yet when I went to pick up the tickets, they would only give them to my DH after seeing his ID.

FWIW - we went to a will call window (at DHS) and it took less than 2 minutes - once I got hubby to walk over :). Picking up the tickets was very fast.

Thank you-that is very helpful. We have never had to go to a will call window-and we always like to get to the park before rope drop. Our first park day will be MK-if they are open before rope drop that will make me feel less stressed about missing it.
