Disney YES Program Open to non-groups

The tickets look exactly the same as a regular Disney World ticket if you have ever seen them. They look like thick paper (I think it's actually Tyvek). It is slightly smaller than a KTTW card.

The ticket prices are slightly different with individual enrolment being slightly higher, except if you are taking an additional class with the general home enrolment class (for example Oct 3 Nutrition class plus an additional class). Depending on enrolment numbers, I would guess that the class is no different however there may be a split in the classes if there are enough children (one home school class and one individual enrolment class). Someone else may have concrete info on that, though...that stated, we have discovered this to be a confusing program; at least the initial enrolment part of it. From the reports I've read, the classes seem to run like clockwork.

During May 2011 they did not have individual enrollment classes; Individual Enrollment dates for 2011: January through second week of February, and end of June through October. Dates are usually released couple months before ( approximately 3 - 4 mos )

I was just starting to think we could do a 5-night cruise in May and tack on a week at WDW off-site at Bonnet Creek. I couldn't find the 2012 classes anywhere to see if the Cirque class is available.

So... May classes don't normally happen? And IF it did for 2012, the dates aren't released until 3-4 months ahead? IE, not until Jan 2012 possibly?

Our class is at 8:15 then I have BBB set up for 11AM then the fireworks buffet that night. Gonna be a full busy day. All 3 things are things we have never done before so Im getting about it now.

I just looked into this yesterday and they had an open Nature class on Oct 18that I was able to enroll DD in. The savings on the tickets seems almost too good to be true. I had to switch our AK morning with our HS morning but it works out okay. We just won't get to do Tusker House breakfast this trip but its not a big loss considering the savings. And I think this will be something neat and different for DD.

DH is going to do it with DD while I hang out with DS. They both like the safari ride and I don't so it will be good that they get to ride it during the class. DS and I can get some breakfast and roam around while they are in the class. And maybe do its tough to be a bug just before we meet back up with them since I read that's where they end up at.

I have a question though, will I be able to get their park tickets from them before they head off so I can get FP for Everest or something while they are doing the class? That way when they are done we can do the last few things we like before leaving the park.

Can you really pick up the tickets at Disney Quest? We are going to be attending the Ocean Discover class on the 25th of August and we wanted to start going to the parks on the 22nd.

Well this is good news and bad news for me. I just saw that thy opened another class that we can attend. I tried to get Ocean Discovers on the 24th months ago but the class was closed. So I called and asked if they would open any other spots for it and I was told NO! That once a class is closed nothing more is added.
Well guess what another class was added for Aug. 31st I don't know when it opened but it is showing as of today. The problem is I bought our tickets once I was told we could not get in to the program.
My son wanted to do this so bad and I was so excited when I seen we had a chance to get in. Until I called just now and was told I HAD to buy passes
What?! I have my passes because I was told I was not getting in to a class they all are closed.
So my question is there anyway to buy just a ticket for the class without buying passes? Believe me I know it's a great deal on the price of the passes, and I would love to buy new passes at that price, but I don't have the extra money to get new passes.

What do a you do if you have annuals? I have an annual but this year I bought my son a 10 day pass because of money.

Is there anything I can do to get a ticket for just the class?

This might have been asked in this long thread but we are signed up for ocean discoveries in Epcot at 8:30am. We are staying at Beach Club and would like to enter thru the IG. Is that possible or do we have to take the bus around to the front of the park to meet the group at the front gate?

Yes, as I stated in an earlier post, we picked up ours at DisneyQuest with no problem. We picked ours up early Saturday and went to DisneyQuest. My brother-in-law did not come in till later and picked his up there after dinner, probably @9:00 Saturday evening. He did not go to Disney Quest, but our next day was Blizard Beach first thing in the morning, and the guy at DisneyQuest said that we would not be able to pick up our tickets at the waterparks.

I know that I have entered through that back gate for the Segway tour at 8:00 am and the Princess Breakfast that early as well. I don't see why it would be any different for that class.

Yelp. Cool someone else from here will be there. Im hoping it will be fun too. I heard they get to ride some of the rides so that will be great for her. She will be super excited just for that.

I just wanted to update my findings after calling the YES program today. I had enquired about this earlier in the thread but there was some confusion about whether both parents could attend with both kids for the Individual Ocean Discoveries class we were signed up for.
The answer was that both adults in our party (myself and my husband) were signed up to attend the class with our two kids.
We did buy our tickets way back in March so they may have changed how many parents can attend since then. The woman I spoke to today confirmed that we were all signed up to attend.
Just thought I would put it in here in case it helped someone.
