So, there are no refunds for any reason, correct? I am really bummed, because my dad is having a gall bladder attack:sad2: They were supposed to be driving down right now, along with my sister, BIL and their two kids. We are already in Orlando. My sister and her family are coming, but it is almost certain that my mom and dad are not. So, now we have 2 tickets that won't be used. I guess I can call and ask the YES people, but everything I have seen says the tickets are not refundable or transferable.

I'm so sorry about your dad! I don't think there are any options, but you could call really quickly...before 5?

I'm sorry to hear that! I actually had several gallbladder attacks in increasing severity until I finally got in to have it out in Emergency Surgery (Booooo Canadian health care wait lists!).
The only reason I mention this is that in the start they were months apart, and I would have been fine to go on vacay after I got a pain shot (demerol always made them stop).
So he *may* be able to join you:confused3
Towards the end though the demerol didn't work anymore and they were much more frequent, so if he's that close he may just have to get it out. I hope you get it all worked out and he feels better soon.. they are so painful:sad2:

This is the first one he has had. He went to the ER on Thursday morning at 3:30am and is still in a lot of pain and can't eat anything. The ER doctor told him to go see his regular doctor if he doesn't feel better by next Wednesday, so my dad did not go when he left the ER like he should have. Then he waited until lunch today and his doctor closed at 1pm. I guess there is a chance that he'll feel better and they can come down tomorrow or Sunday. Thing is, my mom has to be back before Friday morning.

I figure I will call Monday and see if there are options. I don't know if they could give me some kind of credit to use to YES tickets next year. If they were transferable, I would just find someone to buy them for what I paid for the, but they aren't.

Oh I am so sorry to hear that. For me and a few others I know it was a long progressive thing. Did they give him anything for pain? The demerol was the only thing that would even touch it for me. But once it kicked in, it was like it had never happened and I went on my merry way for another few months.

Maybe he needs to have it out already. Everyone is different:guilty: Poor Guy. And Poor you with this being so close to your trip. I guess all you can do is call and hope there is some way they can help you. Sending good thoughts for all of you:hug:

I think he is on oxycontin for pain. He is having some confusion, which we hope is caused by the meds, as he was not like that before this attack. He is very hard headed, which makes everything worse.

Getting excited. We leave in 9 days. Has anyone done how things move class? We are scheduled for that on Monday. Our class is at 8:15 then I have BBB set up for 11AM then the fireworks buffet that night. Gonna be a full busy day. All 3 things are things we have never done before so Im getting :banana:about it now.

Is your class August 22? If so, we'll be there too :)

I would call the YES program and explain the situation to them. I've not heard of people having to cancel YES, but I have heard plenty of people that were able to get the supposedly non-refundable Halloween or Christmas party tickets refunded because of an illness etc. The worst that can happen is they tell you no....but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Or perhaps if your plan is to reschedule, they'd allow you to transfer it to another date.

Of course, one difference might be because the YES program only has so many openings in a class, and of course two missing from that might take them below their minimum, which obviously the party nights aren't going to worry over, lol.

Let us know what happens when you call.....hope to never need this myself, but life has a way of throwing you off balance.

I hope your loved one is feeling better quickly.

Torinsmom - We are in a similar situation today. Our flight is supposed to leave in 5 hours, but we won't be on it, as I was put on travel restrictions on Friday due to pregnancy complications. We do have trip insurance, but there are a lot of exclusions when it comes to pregnancy. Dh talked to a very nice CM in the YES office yesterday who basically said he can't do anything, but that there is a hardship form we can fill out and they review those cases once a month. We are up to $2500 in non-refundable expenses for this trip (including a 4 night cruise, $820 in YES tix and $800 in airfare). It stinks that we may lose all of that money, but I won't take any risks with my health and the baby's.

Well this is good news and bad news for me. I just saw that thy opened another class that we can attend. I tried to get Ocean Discovers on the 24th months ago but the class was closed. So I called and asked if they would open any other spots for it and I was told NO! That once a class is closed nothing more is added.
Well guess what another class was added for Aug. 31st I don't know when it opened but it is showing as of today. The problem is I bought our tickets once I was told we could not get in to the program.
My son wanted to do this so bad and I was so excited when I seen we had a chance to get in. Until I called just now and was told I HAD to buy passes:mad:
What?! I have my passes because I was told I was not getting in to a class they all are closed.
So my question is there anyway to buy just a ticket for the class without buying passes? Believe me I know it's a great deal on the price of the passes, and I would love to buy new passes at that price, but I don't have the extra money to get new passes.:headache:

What do a you do if you have annuals? I have an annual but this year I bought my son a 10 day pass because of money.

Is there anything I can do to get a ticket for just the class?

Thank You.

Our 3 kids took a class last November and we have annual passes. We just had to pay $26 for each kid to attend since we already had passes. Now we were part of a group of people who signed up together (someone of this board arranged a class for all of us) so I don't know if that makes a difference or not.

So, I know there won't be individual enrollment for March 2012, but do people here (or elsewhere) generally start a group we can join? My 14yr old would be happy to join and go without having to worry about whether her dad or myself can go with her. I'd be nervous to let me younger two go with us, so I probably won't enroll them.

Does anyone have experience with setting a group up or know where I can find the requirements?
TIA! :cutie:

That is what I was wondering can't I just pay for the class. I do have an annual. I called the YES Program and was told, No.:sad2: They said if you have an annual we ask you to buy a 3 day pass because the price of the class is built into the ticket:confused3 OK, I get it they are not going to let me in this class, but I paid more to get into the park then if I bought the ticket from them, and there really should be some kind of price for the class if you have an annual. If I bought the 3 day pass that means it is costing me $130 to get in to the class, because I have an annual. If someone without passes buy the 3 day yes ticket that means they are getting in to the park and the class for $130.00:confused3 go figure.

I just wished it worked out better then this.
I am DVC Member so I always have annuals, I don't think it would be worth doing the classes then if I have to buy a pass from Yes, because if I understand right you can't upgrade them. So that means I will always be paying $130 for the class because I have to buy a 3 day pass on top of my annuals.

Is it okay that our YES class is on the last day of our trip? Someone posted on another thread that they thought the class had to be on the first day of the trip or the tickets would be invalid. I thought the tickets were valid 7 days before and 7 days after???

Yes, I am looking at my tickets now and they are valid from 8/20 to 9/11. My class is on the 29th.:)

Unless you are a real group it won't work. They put a stop to that quickly.

Ok, this looks very interesting. I have read through a lot of the posts but no where near all. I have 5 kids of the ages that could participate.

Questions are: How early in June do they start with open enrollment dates? (We do not homeschool, nor part of a group) About when would these dates open up?

Can these tickets be combined at a package with dining and room?

The tickets can not be combined with a package and a room. I saved a ton over free dining rates (package) by renting points at OKW and BWV and adding the dining plan out of pocket combined with YES tickets.
We're spending 2 nights in a Value, 4 nights at OKW and 8 nights at BWV.
We have 8 day hopper YES tickets with Waterparks and More.

We paid 2700.00 less than we would have paid for the same vacation at rack rate with the same tickets. And 14 nights at Disney is costing us the same as 10 at a mod with free dining did last year.

So the short answer.... no you can't combine, but with the savings on tickets alone with 5 kids you'll likely come way ahead on savings over a room/ticket/dining package.

I don't know exactly when the dates open up, but I booked my August class in March. So I would say to look in the New Year for June dates and check this thread often.:)

The two not coming are my parents; the three kids will be at the class. I will call the program person on Monday and see what they say. Would love to give my dad his money back if that is possible. It's bad enough they paid for the whole trip, but losing money on top of it is even worse.
