The homeschool day tickets seem to be a bit different too (like the YES Premium tickets say 8 park days and 8 visits to waterparks, where as the HS days premium tickets say 7 park days and 3 waterparks). I've put in a call to Ashley to make sure, though. We *do* in fact homeschool, but if YES give more waterpark days we'll be leaning in that direction.

I didn't realize this! Please let me know what you find out :goodvibes
I'm interested to know if there is a huge difference and if so why do they specifically offer homeschool days instead of all individual enrollment.
I look forward to hearing from you as to what you find out :yay:

Odd question I can't find the answer to. I have already booked a package in October with insurance. If I were to sign my son up for the class and purchase the tickets but keep the room only reservation I couldn't keep my insurance, could I? Is it only for packages? Also, due to my sons' school not posting any information about next year yet, can I register for classes and wait until I get final confirmation on Fall Break? Or do I need to pay immediately to insure enrollment in class? Sorry about all of the questions and thank you for any help anyone can give me.:goodvibes

I'm guessing you booked the package through Disney's Central Reservation center ? I'm not sure but I think if you don't purchase tickets as part of a package then the room only reservation part of it changes too ( like the rate and other things that may make up the package ). You should call them to discuss what you are thinking of doing and see how that affects the pricing, etc. and for specifics on insurance you bought.

As far as I know, once you register for YES classes these tickets are charged to your credit card within 48 hours and it is non-refundable; even if you plan to pick up your tickets at the Will Call Window - we did that but my credit card was charged on the second day after I did the registration online.

Good luck :goodvibes

So what is the difference between Homeschool Days and Individual Enrollment?

For Home School days you have to have be registered as home schooling your kids ( most states issue those who do so a certificate, number or some kind of documentation ). Individual Enrollment is open to any children that are not part of a Group enrollment ( like Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, school or church group ) or who do not fit the home schooled category.

Give YES office a call, they are very helpful answering any questions you may have.

Best wishes :)

Do they really ask for proof? We have PE'AH cards, so no concern for me, but I read on here that during the January HS Days, some homeschoolers missed out because it sold out (and apparently non-homeschoolers had been allowed to purchase tickets). That particular poster was lamenting the fact that people had been given the opportunity to buy homeschool packages without homeschool IDs.

Does anyone know if I signed up to pick my park tickets up at willcall can I change the date and time of that pick up? Would I just call the youth group phone number?

Also, it's been said here that you can't add more tickets once your initial order is submitted, is that true?

Guess I will call tomorrow and find out these things!

Thanks.

Illinois doesn't have any kind of registration program so we don't really have any "proof" that we homeschool. I could see it being very difficult for them to require proof as different states require different things.

Can everyone in your party get park tickets through the Homeschool Days or just the children participating? What ages is the class for?

Many states require no registration, so many would find it difficult to prove they homeschool. Would they then be turned away because they had no proof? I guess I could photograph my bookshelves, or take the program from the HS convention I'm attending at the end of the month....

Most homeschoolers will have something they could show as proof. For example, Abode's requirements for their education pricing for homeschoolers is based on providing one of the following:

  • Dated copy of a letter of intent to homeschool
  • Current membership ID to a homeschool association (for example, the Home School Legal Defense Association)
  • Dated proof of purchase of curriculum for the current academic school year
That said, I don't think Disney is requiring proof yet. I didn't see anything on their site about proof. But, I do think they _should_ require proof of some kind. I think they could be flexible enough to make it work for all homeschoolers.

Earlier in the thread, someone said Disney is denying "groups" that do not have proof that they are an official group. Basically, people cannot just create their own group out of random people and attend for homeschool days or other times of the year besides individual enrollment. I think that is important. I'd hate for homeschoolers to miss out because others abuse the system. There are individual enrollment times in summer, fall and winter. Those are a lot of opportunities to be a part of the program. In the past, you could NEVER attend without a group, so we should be glad there is Individual Enrollment.

I agree totally, so I'm not sure if it's a random guess that all the HS classes are filled by those who could do Individual(which seem to have way more classes than HS days?) or maybe someone has some access to solid info that it has really happened. Either way, I hope that everyone gets the dates they need and are able to have a magical trip! :goodvibes

Is there a rule that kids who don't live in the USA have to attend 2 classes?
I'm asking because 2 of the kids in our group live in Canada, but the form just asked for 1 address and I put ours (in the US)

We're registered for the 22nd as well so maybe we'll see each other!

Both my 5 year old and 10 year old are registered for classes on the 22. Can't wait to meet other Disers.:thumbsup2

I think it has also been a problem that people combine their groups for registration to get the cheap tickets and then some don't show up for the class. Most of us would never do that, but to save money, people will do things like that and never look back. Imagine, WDW paying a guide and closing the class out at 10 kids, and then only 5 showing u:sad2:p.

Do you think they will add more classes to October. When we wil be there the classes are for ages 11 and up.

I don't think so, but time will tell for certain...from my post, just prior to yours:

I also asked about the gap from September 24 - October 9 with no classes on the current listing - she did not think there would be any classes added during this timeframe and that the ones listed for September/October should allow registration at the end of April/beginning of May.

It sounded to me, when I called yesterday, like the schedule was set for that period.

That's pretty much what I was wondering earlier in the thread with someone saying that their group was having issues with registering. Let's hope that those who would do that think better of it and stay for the class.
