Disney YES Program Open to non-groups

It looks like they are working on the website and changing information. I found this on the June 14th class at EPCOT:

Disney Youth Education Series 2011 Packages are for groups arriving between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2011

At least the dates now are through December 2011 for this particular class (the others were not?) however it now doesn't allow you to sign up for the class but instead you can purchase the tickets? Has anyone else noticed this? This would be really confusing if we didn't know they were having so many website issues! :scared1:

Also - not sure if you guys are hearing/seeing the rumors of a new discount for Kids Stay and Play Free available now? I did the math for us and the YES tickets would still save us more but I'm not sure if others were aware. I found more info on this site under the Discounts tab.

Since my kids are 1, 11, and 13, that one doesn't save me a dime! I'm so excited about this program, though.

I know somewhere on this thread I saw an email address for more information. Can someone direct me to it or repost it? We are most definitely doing this in July!

I just got an email from Heidi this morning. LOVE HER!
Heidi.E.Williams@disney.com

Also, to PP, the African Cats thing IS the homeschool presentation. Additional YES classes added to that are $26 per person per class. At least that's the info I got from Heidi.

See ya'll there!!!!

Does anyone know when the SEpt. 2011 dates for Individual Enrollment will be posted I am hoping to book airfare as soon as possible just waiting on those dates.

Trying to remember! The youth tickets aren't finger scanned, are they? We have a large group and I am hoping to just be able to randomly hand out tickets, and then keep them together for fp's, etc.

Finger scans are always tied to the group. So if they are , as long as the scan matches someone in the group you're fine.

i know about that. I am just trying to remember whether these are finger scanned. thanks, though.

Speaking of the tickets...(good question above!) I'm assuming these are paper tickets? If so, it obviously means we can't add charging privileges to the ticket/card like we can with our Keys to the World cards, right? :confused3

Thanks,
Heather

no, but if you have a key you can charge to it. sorry if that is a stupid answer! :) yes, they were generic paper tickets that said youth on all.

A light bulb might have gone off for me! :rotfl2: So we'll still have our room card and this is what we can continue to charge to? Is this what you're saying? :) The paper tickets will be separate and not attached to the cards, of course, like our past trips. I think I get it now so thanks for helping me :) DUH!

Thanks,
Heather

Forgive me for arriving late, but I wanted to know if anyone could confirm if they are offering open enrollment over the summer? We did this program last summer and it was fantastic! I'd love to do it again.

Last year, every time we used our YES tickets, the finger scans didn't work. They just looked at our tickets and then sent us through. I wondered of it was something different with YES tickets. I wrote our names on them, so I know we were using the right ones.

We didn't pay attention to who used which ticket because the YES tickets didn't require scans. A few CMs looked at us weird when we went through, but once they saw the tickets were Youth/YES they were ok.

Thanks. That was what I thought. It will make it much easier. The people we are traveling with are newbies, and I plan to use my kids as runners.

While my older kids are in class, I plan to do an early character breakfast (CRT or CP) with my then 2 yr old. Then we'll do Fantasyland while we wait for the older 2 to get out of class. Will they have to keep their tickets with them during the class, or can I start getting FPs with their tickets and mine to use later in the day?

I'm thinking of starting a class at DLR June 13-16. I was thinking the "Disney's Animation Magic" for ages 8-18. Any interest, PM me!

When our kids did the class in March, we just stuck around until they were ready to go into the park, they scanned their tickets and then gave them back to us. We then got FPs while they were in class.
