Disney world vacation length?

For our trip this past fall, we were in the parks for 6 days. We didn't build in a rest day which was a huge mistake. I was recovering from a broken toe and DH had a terrible blister from his Keens. I would of liked to have 1 more par day and that is what we are doing with our upcoming Sept 2015 vacation!

This year, we'll be there 8 nights. DD and I will be in Florida a few days before our package starts so we'll get an early start in the parks. We are doing 7 day park hoppers and I think it'll be perfect for us.

We had a fabulous family vacation at Disney last year in just 3 1/2 park days. It was our first trip there with the children. We could only take a short trip because we have our own business and could not afford to close it for many days. We also pulled our 2nd and 4th graders out of school for a low crowd vacation, and we didn't want them to miss more than 3 school days. We also had to allow drive time from Georgia.

We didn't do everything, but we still had a great time. We spent our first afternoon at Epcot and had pics taken at the Character Spot (best family pic of the trip was with Goofy-LOL,) and rode Test Track, Soarin, Finding Nemo (boring,!) and Spaceship Earth. DH did not want to tour the world showcase because he remembered being bored there as a teen, and our children, I think, are too young to really enjoy it. Plus, we did not have time, but maybe next trip! I do want to pick a pearl in Japan! ;)

Next day at Hollywood Studios. Didn't see everything there, but we rode our favorites TSM and Star Tours both twice, saw Fantasmic, Frozen Sing-Along, Muppets 3-D, and Beauty and the Beast, met Buzz & Woody, Mike & Sulley, Phineous & Ferb, and Mr. Incredible & Frozone, and we still have some things to experience for the first time on our next trip.

We had 2 days at the Magic Kingdom and rode everything on our must-do list. We did Big Thunder Mountain 3 times and the 7DMT and Space Ranger Spin both twice. (It helped that it was a rainy Saturday morning and Frontierland was practically deserted.) Splash Mountain, Pirates, Peter Pan, It's a small world, Haunted Mansion and many other rides once. Met Anna and Elsa and nearly all the princesses and Tinker Belle. The more adventurous rode Space Mountain while I took the children to the Monsters, Inc., Laugh Floor. We rode the railroad around and said "bye" to Mickey at Town Square. I got awesome pictures of the Festival of Fantasy Parade. We did not see Illuminations or Wishes in the park (so late!,) but we saw Wishes and the lagoon water parade from our resort. On our next trip I would like to see Wishes from inside the park and the Castle show, but I'm glad we have things to experience for the first time on our next trip.

We stayed at a wonderful resort and enjoyed the meal with Cinderella's family (stepsisters and stepmother were so funny!) at 1900 PF and many other sit down meals. We only visited the resort pool once, but that was not a high priority for me. It would have been wonderful to have a longer and slower paced vacation with more down time, but we made a lot of great memories! We can't wait to go back-even if it's for another short trip!

I've done anywhere from 3 park days to 10 park days.

I do think that shorter trips make me slow down a bit more. I KNOW there is absolutely no way we are going to do everything so we just focus on the few things that are our must dos rather than trying to fit in more.

Really I don't think there is a right or wrong number of days. Well, except for 0. :)

I'm a DLR vet and go all of the time but as far as WDW goes, I've never been... but I am taking a solo trip and I can't believe it, but I leave next week!! eeek.. My biggest decision was how long to stay. Initially I was going to go to Universal for two days and WDW for 8 days but I changed my mind and will spend 10 days at WDW. I wanted to give myself amble time to see and do as much as possible and while I know I won't be able to do everything, hopefully I can cover a lot of land.

In the past we used to do 4-5 full park days (not including travel days) but with crowds and now FP+ unless you go during one of the very low crowds periods, in my view it is getting really hard to really enjoy and experience the parks at a reasonable pace and expectation without going for at least 7 days in the parks, which is what we did last month. And typically we would be a park from RD to closing. For us, time and money (plus other interests and travel locations to see) has limited us to WDW/DL only every other year. After six trips over last decade, I think we will bypas WDW/DL for while, due to cost and crowds and kids getting older and we all looking to experience other places.

We've done 7 nights at only WDW, 10 nights offsite so Disney and Universal and next trip, 14 nights for both resorts but staying onsite.

All have been fun! We did push ourselves very hard on the 7 night trip and spent too much time in the parks so we were both overtired and grumpy.

Our first stay...we did 8 days. 6 park days and MVMCP.
It was great...but a bit rushed for us. Of course it was oir first family trip so we were doing a lot. (I knew we couldn't do everything...but we did a lot)
So we came home just wiped out.

Since then we go 10-11 days. This gives us freedom to do half days....and take full days off. (Generally two full days off in a 10 day period )
We don't feel like we will never go back so we do the things we love...try something new...and if we are tired or if the kids want to swim...then we just leave the parks.
I would actually LOVE to go 2 full weeks but that's tough between the kids schedules and my hubby's work responsibilities.

Our shortest was 6 nts/7 days longest 11 nts/12 days. Shortest was too short for us, so I would not want to go for 5 days, but I know many people do.

Our shortest was a 5 night trip right before Christmas. Our longest was 14 nights during the summer. 14 night was a long time. Some friends came down and stayed with us in a 2 bdrm at SSR during the second week. It really re-energized us having some other people stay with us during that second week.

What is the length of your Disney World trip? We are thinking about trying to swing a quick get away for 5 days. I think that pushing it for us. We aren't fast moving people. My husband thinks we could do it. One of those days would be an arriving day.
The shortest I've done is 4 nights and the longest I've done is 6 nights. I'd say 4-5 nights is enough, but I always get park hoppers and have no kids to entertain.

The shortest we have done is 4 nights/5 days and right now we are on our longest, 20 nights/21 days, we have 6 days left. We are from up north and we don't work for 3-4 months during the winter so we are able to come down to Fort Wilderness for up to a month. Being here this long allows us to come and go as we please without rushing through the parks and meals. This is our first time with our AP's so we can make everyday a park day if we are up to it.
