Disney World MultiPass Scheduling Woes

What do you mean by 'aren't connection? Do you mean that you are having issues linking them?

The previously paired MB+ would not connect to the MDE app. I had to perform factory reset on all 4 of them playing games of trying to get them to connect for an hour or so. I finally got it squared away.

Huh? There's no expiration rule to pick up another? You can only redeem after you use, correct?
Incorrect. After your original hour expires you can pick up another fastpass. However your original selection is still good for an additional 2 hours as well. This is another reason why burners make no sense if you might be later.

9-10AM no show means I can grab another LL at 11AM? For EPCOT/HS, 1 hour can make a difference. No matter how you play this game, zig/zag must be considered as you can be walking and blowing the time you saved. I am glad some ppl aren't OCD like me so I can take advantage.

Incorrect. 9-10AM no show means you can grab another LL at 10 AM. However, tier restrictions and park hopping restrictions aren’t lifted until you tap into your first ride. This is why having a tier 1 ride from 9-10 am is the best strategy (because if for some reason you don’t make it before 10, you can grab a second Tier 1 ride in the same park right at 10 from wherever you are).

A bit late to the party, but I had a lot of issues with modifying LL back in September, it wouldn't let me change the times or rides at all. Similarly I could see that there were earlier times available for the rides than what was originally assigned, but the app would not let me change anything, even though there were no issues with overlapping times or ADRs. We've gone through this LL process for a handful of trips and I've never experienced anything like this before, usually I've been able to modify with ease. I ended up reaching out to a CM via the in app chat and they were able to modify the times to the earlier ones I was seeing, so that's always an option when the app is acting up. I've found for the most part the in app chat has been very helpful for LL issues. So yeah, long story short, don't forget about the in app chat!

Thank you! If tier restrictions are not lifted until you tap into 1st ride, why would you be able to get another 2nd tier 1 on the no show?

Because tier restrictions prevent you from holding more than one “active” tier one ride at the same time. It does not prevent you from grabbing another tier 1 after your first one “expires” (even though you can still use it for another 2 hours). I have tested this and it works.

CMs are enforcing that 2 hour rule. You may get some that don’t but there are enough that do enforce it.

I heard they’re a little more lenient with LLSP but I wouldn’t chance going over the 2 hours.
We’ve done this several times and have never been turned away from an attraction, no matter how far it was past the return window.

Ride attendants have explained that if the pass is still active in your MDE account then it is still valid. From personal experience those passes won’t drop from “My Plans” until sometime between midnight and 6 am, well after the parks have closed.

Frankly, I won’t be surprised if the next round of changes eliminates the end time of the return window. The ability to have three passes at a time and use them whenever it’s convenient (after the start of the return window of course) is the most efficient touring method that we’ve found.

I will say that I’ve never tested outside of 3 hours, however I’ve noted that rides I have missed at the end of the night do appear to stick on my MDE account until the next day. YMMV.

I’ve watched people get turned away and I almost did once myself. I tapped in about two minutes after the 119 minutes because there was a guest issue in front me. The CM wasn’t happy about it and questioned me. She almost didn’t let me in.

Guests get turned away all the time. It’s either because they were more than 5 minutes early or because they didn’t have a pass at all.

Our touring strategy would change significantly if we ever encountered a situation where we were denied access, but it hasn’t happened yet. “Still active, still valid” has been 100% true so far.

This is absolutely fantastic news. And, these small (probably unknown to most) tips make a huge difference.

My girls will be at Dance the World in July and I didn't want to do LL because I have to manage that schedule and because the gaps would not allow me to utilize the passes. But, I am not feeling more optimistic to just book as always as I can still use the no-shows (assuming CM allow 3+ hour if that occurs) and I am still able to book ANOTHER after the pass expires.

How do we know when the next round of updates? From an app update POV? Or an advertised update from Disney?

Whenever I hear about the CM preventing the return after the 3 hour window, it's always been from an alternate source and not something verified.

Disney could update these rules anytime without advance notice. The last time the grace period was published was in military time on the original paper Fast Passes about 25 years ago.

I would put worrying about being turned away for an expired Multi Pass high on the list of irrational fears.

Aside from a major change announced to the public, they could kill 5 min/15 min thresholds at any time. Turned away at 189 minutes and/or after 189 minute fear? If I can book at 1 hour and NOT lose any expired (for the same day), I will def. pay for LL every day when my schedule isn't clear as I won't be able to take full advantage of tapping in early but I won't 'lose'.

You can book an additional LL when one expires AFTER you have tapped into your first LL. Until then, it's a max of 3 you can hold.

It helps our touring plan too. But I won’t push past the 119 minutes after what happened to me last time. The CM was flustered from other things and she wasn’t the nicest about it either. 119 minutes is plenty enough for us. I also don’t like my Mickey head to light up blue. lol.

It was blazing hot on our most recent visit. We got out of Remy and our next two passes were Frozen then Rock n Roller Coaster. It was much easier to just jump on the Skyliner then hit Frozen several hours later on our way back through. The family wouldn't have been pleased if we had to trudge around the World Showcase twice just to make it to Frozen within the grace period.

Plus, blue is just a different shade of green anyway.
