Disney World and the War in Iraq

We are STILL going in May!! My 3 and 5 yo dd's don't understand the implications of war (only Mickey Mouse and Cinderella!! - If only the world worked the same way!). To deny them the happiest place in the world now would be a HUGE disservice to them. I love WDW and and greatly looking forward to being there and sharing the magic with my family. Thank you Dan, for the words of encouragement and you can be sure that you'll see us in May!!

:teeth:

I want to applaud and say BRAVO to all of you continuing on with your plans..Life needs to go on, do not cancel and let them win....

We are going on with trip of course, nothing stopping us with this one

A visit to WDW is just what the doctor has ordered here....:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

We are going in May no matter what. It would show no faith if we all stayed home in fear. We will most likely be returning in November on our way home from Anguilla!

The media does a great job of the "Fear Factor" involved in war. I choose to watch Sponge Bob. I do not need to know the details of bombs and such, it not my job to. I am a TA and business has gone from bad to worse. The ripple effect has damaged the economy. We still shop, buy, fly and go - but we are far and few between. People look at us like we are crazy!

Gee I wish all you fearless people were my clients, I would be very busy!LOL

Happy and Safe Travel to All of You

I'll be there; that's for darn sure!

I work down at Ground Zero and I really need to get out of the city for a week of Disney.

We cannot put our lives on hold now more than ever.

No way I'm cancelling my trip at the end of April.

Just wanted to remind everyone that for a good dose of patriotism, you can't beat the flag lowering ceremony at MK at the end of the day. They have a vet help, and the band plays patriotic songs. It's really great.

Don't forget to visit The American Adventure either!

My boyfriend and I leave this Sunday. We are driving and the only thing I'm worried about is the price of gas, but whatever the cost.....

I'M GOING !!!!!!!!!!

My daughter and I are leaving 3/23. This is the best place to forget for a short time what is going on elsewhere. We need the magic now more than ever.

Rhondalee,
whenever expensive fuel at an American gasstation bothers you just think of me: I have to pay about $5 per gallon in Germany :(

You take a risk everytime you step outside of your house. Sometimes even being in the house isn't exactly safe either!

I don't know when the next terrorist event might happen - but I know for a fact my next WDW trip will happen Oct. 4 -11!!!

We are going 6/27-7/3 and really looking forward to it. Life must go on.

Support our troops.
:D

wE TOO WILL NOT CANCEL OUR EARLY MAY TRIP. HOWEVER I AM VERY NERVOUS ABOUT THE PLANE TRIP. BUT, I WILL ALSO SAY I AM A WHITE NUCKLE FLYER ANYWAY. THE ONLY WAY I CAN SEE US CANCELING IS IF SOMTHING HAPPENS AGAIN TO THE AIR INDUSTRY. IN THAT CASE I JUST DO NOT SEE ME PUTTING MY BABIES ON A PLANE. I JUST DO NOT KNOW? SO BARRING MAJOR PROBLEMS...WE WILL BE THERE.

No way I am cancelling! We leave tomorrow and I can't wait!! Everyone is on alert so I feel ok about the flight and everything.:bounce: :Pinkbounc

I don't plan to cancel, but as another Washingtonian, things are so uncertain. Actually I'm sitting in my office in Wash. DC, while some nut case is a block away threatening to blow something up (been there all night in his tractor). We don't have to go far for people to threaten us, when our own folks right here in the US do dumb stuff like this. All the roads around and near our government building are closed, but the Federal Government is open! I'm not afraid of flying, why would I, I take public transportation in and out of Wash. DC everyday, and I work next to the White House (some pretty big targets for attack). But if the terror threat goes to red, I guess we'll all have to see what happens then.

I am leaving in early May to come down, I am not canceling , i've looked too forward to a trip with my 16 yr old dd for too long.
My prayers with be with the soldiers and their families.

Just try to stop us.

Park tickets are bought
hotels/villa booked
plane tickets booked
We have every confidence in the WDW cast members.

Why would we cancel?

4 adults, 2 kids all the way from Sheffield, England. The RAF will have to comandeer all the Virgin planes to stop us.

I have to repeat what has been said here a few times:

I will not cancel my plans or alter my daily life other than to daily pray that the loss of life is minimal (on either side) and that God watch over the brave men and women who are protecting us. The only reason i would feel odd at all is in enjoying myself while they and their families are making such a sacrifice for me and our nation.

my husband and i wil be coming to wd world in june from england no matter what!!this is our 10th visit but it will be our first without the kids-yipee!!we've lived with terrorist threats for years and had our city (manchester)centre completely destroyed by bombs but the bad guys have won if we change our plans because of them.looking on the bright side -if all the scaredy cats dont come the lines will be that much shorter for us.!!

I and a group of 12 others will be leaving Sat morning. We can't wait. Well said Dan. If we don't go we will be giving them what they want. We are all looking forward to it.

Sherry

We will be there in June--there is no place on earth we'd rather be :bounce: Prayers and pixie dust to the brave men and women of our armed forces and their friends and family who are watching and waiting.

We have been planning and saving for too long to cancel our trip Easter week. If for some reason our flight is cancelled I think we would just get in the car and drive.
