It is inevitable that people will cancel their plans, now that this war in Iraq is going to happen. As a cast member who cares deeply about Disney World, and what it represents, please, nobody should cancel their plans because of what is going on outside. I know lots of people will, and I am not saying this as hopes for Disney not to lose lots of money, but that Walt Disney himself knew and believed that this place is one of happiness, a place where people can go to remember that life is fun, that magic does exist. Why sit around and watch MSNBC when you can be riding space mountain or chasing poachers in the African Safari. Why not let your child hug Mickey Mouse and see their eyes light up, instead of letting them sit on the couch with you as they here about the awful things going on in the Middle East. Don't sheild them from reality, but don't deny them, and yourself, the magical experience you will have at Walt Disney World. Because I believe that Disney World really is where magic lives, your child's eyes and your own will tell you that.

Dan, I will admit, I'm a little nervous going next week for our Spring Break but I am not about to cancel my trip. There is no way to know when the next attack on the US will occur so sitting in my home waiting for that time is not the way I want to live.

TC:cool:

I am not planning on cancelling my trip with my DD and her two best friends in June to celebrate their high school graduation. However, I will be saying a prayer of thanks to President Bush and the military men and women who are fighting to protect the rights and freedoms of all Americans.

God Bless America!

Donna

We will be there for the month of June!!!!!
We have already paid for the House, all the tickets, and set money aside for gas (no matter how much it cost) .
I need this trip more than ever now:( .
So see you in June:)

P.S. I work in the tourist industry also and we are all holding our breath. Despite what people might think about the National Park Service and Government employees not all of us get our paychecks from the taxpayers. My check comes directly from fees paid by the tourist.

I am planning on going with my youngest niece.

I have heard that WDW keeps up with terror threats and I believe they know what they are doing. We can;t live in our homes and never go out.

Hey, we leave this Saturday! I am VERY nervous. I hear many reports on terrorism in Disneyworld. I hope that security is beefed up!

Thank you, Dan! I will be there next week and I will enjoy my trip....:D

We are coming in May, Almost nothing will stop us. We love the place you can truly relax in and be a family at.:bounce: :smooth: :o :p

We will be there in May as well and can't wait. The only thing that would stop us would be if we were not allowed to fly for some reason, otherwise I can't wait for my dose of magic.

We will be there for our daughter's first time to DW, and we defnitely won't miss it. My husband, a sailor stationed in Florida, wouldn't cancel this trip unless absolutely necessary.

We'll be there in May too! Have a great trip everyone.

Not changing our plans for June. I am going to trust and believe God for the best. I pray that all have a safe and wonderful trip.

Disnee Dad Says................................I am proud of all you guys. The couple monthes after 9/11 everyone seemed to be running scared, glad to see guys going on with life,as it is.
I hate to fly, but 2 months after the attack we went to WDW. best flight ever! Bravado has started to wear off on our last two trips, maybe i'm not mad enough. But I think you guys are great,so be prepared, because we will get hit again.

I've waited for this vacation too long, worked on it too hard and spent WAY too much money to let anything stand in my way.
But there's not much we can do if they have to close for whatever reason.

Another thing......Nobody better try anything on MY plane!

I am bring my family over form Britain in May no matter what. Our lives cannot go on hold.

I live in the Washington, DC suburbs so I'd feel about 100x safer there than here! If I had my choice I'd go down there and stay until the war is over and then...maybe just stay after it too. :p I cannot see why anyone would want to cancel vacation plans to WDW but maybe that is because I already feel like more of a target here than there. My guess is that if it is still code "orange" when you go and we're at war, etc. that there will be much extra vigilance than at any other time - you're probably safer.

Dan,
we booked our DCL-cruise in January 2002 for October 2003. Just two weeks ago we booked our flight to the USA, 9 days at the Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista, 12 days at the Gulfcoast and bought our WDW- and BuschGardens/SeWorld-passes.
Nothing will prevent us from experiencing the Magic.
Two years ago we were on one of the first planes to the USA after 9-11, to be precise: We departed on 15-11 and spent a wonder four-week-vacation at WDW, on the ship and at teh Gulfcoast.

I'll admit, I'm a little nervous, but there is no way we are going to cancel our trip (arriving WDW 3/28). Unfortunately, war is going to happen and terrorist attacks will happen, regardless of where we are. So, I'm looking forward to a good healthy dose of MAGIC!
