Disney Wonder September 3, 2012. Seattle to Vancouver 7 night Alaska Cruise!

Hi Cinderelley ... .:wave2:....oooooh yes ::yes:: we are doing the FE's. It was a last minute decision to participate (been a bit of a rough year for the 2 of us) but we couldn't pass it up. We had an awesome time doing it on our Dec 2010 cruise ... so we will just use the FE I made from that one :woohoo:We are SOOOOOO excited!!!!:woohoo:

Oh, I've been checking the DCL website every day, believe me. :p We booked VGT, and from what I've heard, these are typically assigned 2 weeks out, so I've got a ways to go. It's going to be a looooong 3 weeks, to not even know what category, let alone which stateroom. But at least we know it's a verandah!

We don't know what rooms we have. :confused3 I want to map out my routes to the theaters and dining areas while avoiding the crowded corridors. :thumbsup2
 
OK, I finally decided to join the FE! I needed to find a good idea for a gift before signing up, and found it this afternoon. Now time to get cracking - just 5 weeks to go! :dance3: Hopefully I haven't bit off more than I can chew with this idea... and I need to make a FE as well. Definitely time to raid my mom's huge stash of fabric for anything Disney! ;)
 

Just a heads up everyone as of today we have 21 rooms in the FE. There are 4 more days left to join. So if your still considereing nows the time!!!:thumbsup2
 
Cruise docs here as well! A (very) slight letdown to see the stateroom number blank on the luggage tags, but we're still one step closer to the CRUISE! And I'm really excited about my FE gift idea... :upsidedow

I vote for a split--my suggestion (if this sounds good to people) is that we allow people to sign up for one or both lists if they want, but we split the list. This is, however, only a suggestion.

IMO I think that we should wait until the final count before dividing the group. Not counting your own room, that's twenty. Some already have their supplies and others might have their gifts done. The last time that I participated in the FE exchange(last year). Our group organizer did not want to let people be disappointed so that they let people in after the deadline, with the understanding that the late additions might night receive from all the other participants. It seems to work out well. There wound up being 30 rooms in all. By cutting our list in half and having two groups the people who would have their gifts completed would have 10 extra gifts. I have read that some groups have had 50 rooms. :)
 
I am waiting to close the group before any decisions are made. After the 1st we will have a final count and can move forward. :)

I'd rather do all in my opinion. Of course, I haven't started yet...:rolleyes1 I like giving a lot so I'd be disappointed in not spreading as much pixie dust around as I possibly can. :wizard:

I found out that the hotel I am staying at in Seattle happens to have a Disney Shuttle service for $30/pp. The advantage is that they take your luggage and you don't see it until it arrives at your stateroom.

Taxi should be only about $15...

Is hauling your baggage around the port that big of a deal?

We're a group of 8... so $240 for 4 miles is silly... :rotfl:

For those whom have traveled out of pier 91, please let me know your thoughts :)

I can't comment on Seattle (so maybe I shouldn't comment at all!), but in Port Canaveral there are people who take your luggage right where all shuttles (and I assume taxis) drop you off. So we had no carting around of the luggage. I would say take the cheapest transportation. Even if your luggage is a nightmare, it should be a short lived one and you'll have saved enough money for plenty of drinks onboard to help you forget about it :rotfl:

I'm for keeping the FE list together. I've got enough supplies for 22 rooms I think (and that's not counting ours) and I can always get more stuff. If we split it up, that doesn't seem like enough rooms. Just my opinion. Of course, it sounds like if we split it up, we still have the option to sign up for both. So maybe I'm ok either way??? :confused3

I'm not sure if this would work - if most people decide to sign up for both lists, that could end up with two lists full of almost everyone, somewhat defeating the purpose of splitting the list. Or are you suggesting that people can choose to give to both lists if they want, but each participant will only be expected to give to their list? That could work.

I vote for a split, only because my FE gifts (which I just started on) are more time intensive to complete than I realized, and I doubt I'll be able to finish 20+ before we sail. I have a backup plan if needed, but I'm really excited about these.

I am! It is soooooo close, I can almost smell the sea!

I've lost :wishfive so far preparing (not that it matters since we won't be in the Caribbean) for the cruise, just so I can gain it all back!!! :rotfl2:

MY THOUGHTS ARE LIKE APRIL N....SPLIT THE LIST AND ANYONE WHO WANTS TO GIVE TO THE OTHER LIST CAN...I FINISHED MY GIFTS ALONG TIME AGO AND KEEP HAVING TO ADD. I HAD PLANNED SOME EXTRA FE GIFTS, BUT THEY ARE NOW DEPLETED... I ALSO LIKE SPREADING THE PIXY DUST(LOVE THAT QUOTE "CINDERELLY"). BUT IF I AM COUNTING RIGHT, THERE ARE 40 ADULTS NOT COUNTING ALL OF MY FAMILY, AND 10 CHILDREN. THATS A PRETTY GOOD GROUP. WE ARE FLEXIBLE AND WILL DO WHATEVER. WE THINK THIS IS AN AWESOME GROUP OF PEOPLE.:grouphug::grouphug:

Got my cruise documents today!!

My two cents for the FE is to keep it as one list. If we split, it doesn't seem like enough and I'm confused by the option of joining both lists..
