Disney Wonder - October 14, 2012 - Hawaii

You can play Bingo all you like but i already have a group of 10 for a NON Disney Poker Tourny. looking for others that want to join a NON Disney Poker Tourny.:rolleyes1

WOW it is hard to believe that 30+ people on the April 29 Sailing to Hawaii with DCL Signed up for a NON DISNEY Poker tourny and on this Oct 5th sailing everybody is looking, sounding like it is a capital crime with all of the "you cant's" GO play your Bingo and have fun. its 1 poker game people:furious: :rotfl2:

Not hard to believe at all. I only mentioned that DCL does Bingo instead. I bet there have been non-DCL poker events on most of the cruises as cruisers will plan almost anything themselves (PCGs, FEs, PJ Morns, PJ Nights, Tastings, etc).

Personally, while I like poker I wouldn't join a Tourny because I would like to keep my money and not lose it all in the first round (unless we are playing penny ante). :cool2:

I think there was only one "can't" and I took that to mean that Sarah didn't know how to play poker and so would play bingo instead.

Not a poker player here so I won't be joining but I'm sure you'll have others who might like to play.

And just make sure you have your dates correct. I believe our sailing is the 14th, not the 5th of October.

See you in October.

We are finding better airfare by flying into Ontario. Does anyone know how far that is from DL? I know that we want to spend Fri and Sat at DL but the $$$ for Ontario is much better for us than SNA or LAX.

Thanks :)

Ontario is a much nicer airport and less overwelming airport.Less traffic to get to DL.I would pick flying into Ontario over LA anyday.

Has there been any discussion about weather? I searched and didn't see any. SoCal should be nice, but not sure about open ocean. Is weather going to stink outside for 2 days out and 2 days back?

It rained on us both times in Oct when we did the Hawaii 15 day on Princess. It was nice and brief.:hippie:

Been on the ship in all types of weather (sunny, rainy, snowy [Alaska], hurricanes, etc)... And I don't care...

Just being on the boat is better than being at work. Free food, Free drinks (soda, coffee, tea), cheap booze if played right (tastings, Captain's Gala, etc), movies, games, ocean sunsets/sunrises, MAID/ROOM SERVICE, FEs, friends, DISNEY Characters (much better than the corporate characters here) etc.

Can I go now please......

Totaly agree with you. If the weather is good, it would be nice, but if not, there is so much to do on board.
I want to go... And the april one is leaving in a few days. I am so curious how it will be.

I was wondering about that too..really it has to do with clothes to bring.. on the MR cruise I was very glad to have a sweatshirt..of course in Alaska i was prepared for the cold and rain.. so it really has to do with shorts/tee shorts/or longer pants and sweatshirt/rain jacket for some of the sea days..

I had to bring a rainjacket and sweatshirt anyway. Because we leave in oct and return in nov. the weather in the Netherlands can be very bad in that time. I will not have my wintercoat on, so I wear warm clothes on my way to LA and back home. And pack my summergood, so my bags are not to heavy.
And I can buy some stuff on board or on the islands.

I'm thinking about wearing jeans to travel as my only long pants. (I always have a zip hoodie in case it gets cold indoors anyway.) So other "warmies" will depend on the weather here and on weather.com leading up to leaving.

I will be on board the cruise with my soon-to-be husband! We are getting married on board! So excited!

Love reading all the discussions about DCL. So much to learn!

Good idea..I also have zip off pants..so maybe I'll bring those too..

FYI anyone still looking for airfare. We just booked our flights 271 per person including 2 free check bags. Were flying into Ontario. Now it feels official. We still have to book our hotel and transportation. I'm so excited less than 6 months now.:yay:
