Hi there!
My sister and I just signed up for this cruise--we're so excited!
We booked onboard during a cruise on the Dream last November but weren't sure about the final cruise date--we had a few things fall into place last week and got on this cruise for the day after Thanksgiving--can hardly wait!

My sister and I are two single gals who work at the same place and often take vacations together so for right now it's just us taking the cruise...not sure if any of our family will tag on...

But for now, wanted to say "hi" and that we're excited to be joining y'all for the "Wonder"ful cruise in November!!!

Also, we would like to sign up for the FE and are also interested in the Cabin Crawl--never done one but sounds fun!
Thanks and I look forward to hearing more exciting things from everyone in the days ahead! :D

Hi! I am sailing with my daughter and her family and would like to join in the FE we are taking this cruise for my grandson's fifth birthday. I have cruised many times but this is the first Disney Cruise and I'm looking forward to all the fun that Disney has to offer and getting to meet all new friends.

Welcome to the group Happy Eeyore!
:welcome::welcome::welcome:
I will add you to the roll call and to group 2 FE.
I am going to need to send you the sign up information for the FE, but you do not have enough posts to receive and/or send private messages yet. The DIS board requires that you be at 10 posts before messaging is unlocked. This is not a difficult task. You can either post her with things like hello, we are down to only 5 months, I would like to join the cabin crawl (or any other question or comment you may have). You could also go to the test page (see posts 57 and 69), and make quick 1 letter posts.
As soon as you reach 10, I will send you the sign up.
I look forward to getting to know you. Now it's time to get excited. :dogdance:

Monday Forget me not

Remember to pack all prescription and first aid type medicines.
When packing prescription meds, always pack an extra supply. I always pack an extra week. You never know what is going to happen, and it is better to be prepared for the worse case scenario.
As for first aid type meds, you should plan to pack a small first aid bag. Items to include are band-aids, triple antibiotic ointment, antiseptic wipes, pepto, tums, Alvera, cough drops, something for cold symptoms (we like the theraflu powder that you can add to hot water), lip balm, ace bandage, Tylenol, ibuprofen, and anything else you may use in your day to day mending of your kiddos.
There is a doctor on board, but a visit to the infirmary can be pricey. I suggest only go to see the doc in extreme circumstances (think of it like and ER).
We had a nurse, an EMT, and a firefighter (who was a first responder ) on our last cruise. I joked with them before we sailed and asked if they would make a house (cabin) call if need be.:cold::crutches::crazy2:

Just curious, how much do you and your sister look alike?
The reason I ask, is because in January of this year, my hubby and I sailed on Royal Caribbean (ahhhhh, I know the competition....really no competition, Disney wins, hands down ), and the lady that organized our cabin crawl was sailing with her sister. We did not know this before sailing, and the cabin crawl (which was the first time I saw them together) was the 2nd day on the cruise. I kept running in to them through out the cruise, and was perplexed by how many times they (remember at this point I think it is one person) changed. I figured it out when we met for the cabin crawl, but still had trouble knowing who I was bumping into on the remainder of the cruise.

Thanks! We're very excited to be cruising on the Wonder in November!

Our cruise last November was a short 3-nighter on the Dream out of Port Canaveral, in combination with a short WDW trip. It was a very last minute trip that we decided to take as both a work vacation and to celebrate my birthday (everyone should have a birthday at Disney at least once in their life!!). It was fabulous - I wore my Birthday button to all the parks and also on the cruise and loved getting a "Happy birthday!" shout-out from Cast members and other travelers alike. And both the Dapper Dans and the Banjo Brothers stopped us while we were in the parks to sing "Happy Birthday" to me - so fun!

In fact, the trip was so last minute that we booked an GTY in category 06A, but ended up getting upgraded to a cat 04E family stateroom with a secret extended-size veranda - and we literally booked the cruise 21 days before sailing. That's probably the most spontaneous I've been about a trip in my life - I love the planning part of trip, so not having much time to plan/prep everything was a new experience for me.

So the quick breakdown of our November trip:
Thursday morning - flew into Orlando, rented a car and went straight to Epcot for to spend all afternoon/evening at the Food & Wine Festival (after a slight hiccup at the gate with our tickets), stayed at POP Century that night.
Friday - (my actual birthday) we got up and headed to Port Canaveral to get on our 3-night cruise on the Dream. This was one of the rare cruise itineraries that did a day at sea instead of stopping at Nassau, and then a day at Castaway Cay. Short but sweet. :)
Saturday - Day at Sea on the Disney Dream (did all sorts of fun activities, including animating and cooking classes, and watching the premier of Big Hero 6 at sea!)
Sunday - Day at Castaway Cay (Fabulous!)
Monday - Departed the Cruise ship and checked in at All Star Movies, went to MK for MVMCP!
Tuesday - Spent the day at Hollywood Studios (Osborne Family Lights!)
Wednesday - Back to the Magic Kingdom for a full day of fun!
Thursday - Departed for the "real world" of work back home... was already missing Mickey and friends.

So, we booked a "dummy" cruise while we were onboard the Dream last fall and tried to pick a cruise date that would work, but realized a few months ago that we would need to change our date - things firmed up last week and that's when we switched to the 27th!

We've never done a 7-night Disney Cruise (did one on NCL as teens), so we're very excited for this cruise! (Our other Disney cruise was a 4-nighter, also on the Dream.)

Thanks for welcoming us!

Haha! That wasn't us... but it's funny how sisters often look alike, but don't really think they do... so, you might think we look like twins, or totally different. As of right now, we have fairly different hairstyles, but that could totally change before November... ;)
Maybe we'll wear shirts the entire cruise with our initials stitched on the right shoulder... or we might dress identical for the entire cruise just to throw you all off!! Mwah-hahahahaha!!

That is exciting! One year when my hubby was working for the school district, we went to church Sunday morning of Spring Break, and got in a discussion on the way home about what we were going to do for his week off, and we decided lets go to Disney. We already had a trip planned for that coming summer, but you can never get enough Disney. Before we got home, we had already called Disney and booked our trip. When we got home, we threw a weeks worth of Disney clothes (have to have our costumes and Mickey shirts!) in to a bag, hooked up the camper (which luckily is always packed and ready to go) and hit the road before 2 PM. I love the planning part of vacations as well, but there is something to say about a spur of the moment trip.

As for us and Disney, we had Disneyland passes when we lived in California. As a matter of fact, we thought that I was going to have my first son at the park. We would head to the park every evening to walk. Unfortunately, he can not say he was born at Disney. When we moved back home to Texas, we were feening for Disney, but we were not up for doing Disney World with a little one still in diapers. Once he was potty trained (and this is the story he tells over and over) we booked a trip to the worlds as a reward. Poor thing, he was so excited to see Mickey, that he did not want to get out of line when he had to pee. As a result, he had an accident and thought he would have to go home. Since that trip, we have been to the Worlds almost every year. When we missed, we were on a Disney cruise. Our oldest complains that it is not fair that his brother did not have to wait to be potty trained to be able to go.

I have toyed with the idea that I may be a Disneyaholic, but I am not ready to except that yet. First I have to adjust to the idea that I have OCVPD (Obsessive Compulsive Vacation Planing Disorder):rotfl2:

I hate to open a new thread in the forum everytime I have a question because I figure it's been talked about a million times so I'll ask my friends in here. My DD's favorite character is Tinkerbell and I've already had to break the news to her that the Wonder doesnt have the "magic port holes" so anyone who has cruised on the Wonder please tell me that Tinkerbell is onboard. I've seen lists of the characters on the ship and I've never seen her name.

I completely understand where you are coming from. I do my best to see Tink on every Disney trip. I usually bring her a bag of my Pixie Dust (Chocolate).
Here is a video from the Wonder
Our last cruise on the Wonder was a little ways back, but she was in the Kids Club area.
I am going to do some more digging for you and will post anything that I find.

Another place I know you can find Tink is on the ceiling above the bunk bed when it is lowered. The ceiling is painted blue and covered in stars. If you look close, you will be able to make out Peter, Wendy, and Tink.
I will look for a picture I have. If I can locate it, I will post it.
As for Tink for pictures, it looks like the only place she will show up in person is in the kids area. If you have seen Tink in the parks, you have notice how they make you feel like you are shrinking down to Tink's size so that you are able to see her instead of just pixie dust. To create this experience on the boat, it is hard to have her out when other characters are posing for pictures as well.

I hope this helps.

~Tink~

No problem!
One of my favorite pass times is research on anything and everything Disney!:smickey:
