Disney Wonder Mexico Oct 9 2011

We were in DL today and the morning was great, but then it got PACKED. I left with the little ones around 2:45pm and my husband stayed with my oldest till 4ish. We went back after meeting up with local friends for dinner and it was still a madhouse (it was 8pm). We used our Star Tours FPs, everything else had a big wait, so we went back to the hotel. Well, stopped to get the kids a dessert (and my husband a milkshake) on the way! We're heading out from here around 10:30am, so see you all on the ship!

I think -- I - am - packed! :yay::dance3::cool1:

So very excited to be back onboard the Wonder real soon!

Friday afternoon/evenings at DLR are crazy busy --- especially on a holiday weekend. Glad you had some fun despite the crowds!

Woohoo! It's almost time! See you onboard! :wizard:

Could you tell me who was the CD and asst. CD for your cruise?
thanks

It was wonderful meeting everyone, sharing in the fun, and having familiar faces around ship. Anyone else as messed up (tired, swaying, hungry but absolutely stuffed) as I am? :rotfl: Cheers to the next one!

Could you tell me who was the CD and asst. CD for your cruise?
thanks

Christiaan and Jimmy. And we cannot say enough nice things about each of them. :wizard:

We had a such a great time. Thank you so, so much for the fantastic FE gifts! We were amazed at the creativity and thoughtfulness you put into your gifts! :cloud9: The kids loved discovering all the treats in our bag every time we came back to the room.

Dreams......thanks again for organizing the brunch. We had an amazing time!!! It was sooooo good. We had dinner there Friday night and that was amazing too! I can't decide.....so I'll just have to do both every time we cruise!

And yes, I'm still swaying....LOL!

Ok....gonna be on the phone this afternoon to book another cruise. :cool1:

Glad we got to meet!

Were you guys the brunch group there on Monday morning around 11ish? We had our 1st brunch on Monday at 11 and saw a large group in the back room then.

We got back last night, after a nice long drive from the port.

OK! So who had fun this past week? I know my group and I sure did. Who knew you could laugh so much about corn or origami?

Thank you all for all the FE gifts! It was so exciting to see that something was in the bag. We also had a lot of fun making the rounds with deliveries. It was fun also, seeing familiar faces around the ship.

RetCm, you totally outdid yourself with the FE gifts! My kids kept saying "Wow, she left us MORE stuff!?!"

And Slowly, you did the HCC cookies, right? OMG, I have a total obsession with them. We were in Honolulu last November and I bought some and was quite impressed. So this past August, for my son's 5th birthday, he wanted it to be a Hawaiian theme (he was impressed with the entire trip and has declared he is moving there when he's older). Anyway, I ordered HCCookies for his party. I posted it on Facebook and his teacher saw it and said she's totally addicted to them too! So we had to share some with her, which is probably a good thing for me so I didn't eat them all myself!

Anyway, thanks for the fix!

Hi
Didn't make it to the meet and greet, but I did some a FE on deck 2... I passed by it many times.. I was on deck 2 also..
Had a wonderful time, even with out Puerta Vallarta... I think that was the smoothest Waters EVER going back to California.. Wow, couldn't believe how wonderful it was.
Had a fantastic time. Wishing I knew who some of you were, and wondered if I was passing you by.
My sisters had a GREAT time, and couldn't believe how wonderful Disney was. And cruising too....
Can't wait to go back

Justthat, yes it was us who provided the HCC cookies. Actually the original cookies are from Big Island Cookies. They are the best! You can only get them online or the Big Island(HI). A funny story was when one of the FE peeps was thanking me for our FE gift and the bag and I asked her, sarcastically, how she knew it was from me and she said, uh, the Hawaiian Bag?! The bags are a popular item in HI currently because they are reusable. I am even more happy that we were able to share them with you all. OK, it was my DW's idea!

In all seriousness, we enjoyed everyone's gifts and the kids would look everyday and night for any FE gifts. It was definitely one of the highlights of the trip! Thanks for adding us last minute.

Lastly, I must have seem Paul, Aimismom, everywhere I looked! Too funny! Great meeting you Paul and family.

Favor to ask of those of you leaving Sunday:

First off, have a GREAT cruise! Second, could you please check to see if Lion King 3D is playing (I hear it is!) and ask someone in the know how long they will continue to show it onboard please!

We don't get on the Wonder until December but I would LOVE to have a chance to see this movie again, in 3D this time. Feel free to post back on this thread and I promise to check back when you return.

Thank you and enjoy the sun and warmth!

Katherine in San Diego

Hi Katherine,

We were slightly disappointed that Lion King was not playing during our cruise. Real Steel however was and it was an awesome movie!

The weather was great!

We had a great time meeting all of you and had a great time with the FE gifts. My two daughters loved coming back to the room and having a gift waiting for them. Our family had a blast on the cruise and my oldest Adrian cried for over an hour the last night on the ship that are cruise was ending. Disney really does a great job putting together a cruise. Palos was simply amazing. We loved the brunch and my wife and I went back for dinner as well. I think those were two of the best meals I have had in my life. Thank you Dreams for organizing that. Unfortunately, 5 of the 8 from the Miller/Weber family have come down sick. I am guessing they picked up something at LAX. My wife and I and are youngest Paige are feeling fine, but everybody else is coughing with a fever. Sigh.

Thanks again for all for the wonderful gifts.

My husband's sick now too, and we didn't fly, so maybe someone was spreading germs on the ship. ;)

Millers, you went to the group brunch? Was that on Monday?

We missed the meet because my youngest was not in a pleasant mood at that time (nor much of the cruise, as she LOVES her own bed and space and not vacations). We did do the WonderQuest scavenger hunt and were in the winning team, so if any of you were there, that was us! I had the girl in the pink fleece and the only boy on the team.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to thank all that were involved in the gift exchange. We loved all of the gifts, and my daughter Bri raced to the extender 1st thing in the morning and checked all throughout the day for new items. I love the creativity and appreciate the generosity. Thanks for organizing the Palo Brunch and for those that attended. That meal was delicious! Anyway, it was a pleasure to cruise with you. Just remember..."faith, trust and pixie dust!"

Thank you everyone for adding to our wonderful memories of yet another great Disney cruise onboard the Wonder.

We had fun with the FE --- wow some of you went all out! Thanks everyone for the goodies, and for letting me join in.

Thanks to those of you who hopped on for the Palo group brunch. We really love that room and the designated server. Toni was fun and I think enjoyed our group as much as we enjoyed him. I hope that is a happy memory for all of you, too. Not bad for a waterfront restaurant, huh? LOVE it!

It was great seeing everyone around ship and sharing some activities with many of you in little groups (WonderQuest, for example! Go team! Thanks for letting me join!) Also wonderful to know people around ship!

Still going through photos and such. Helps me feel like our cruise is still sort of somehow here -- along with the swaying that hasn't stopped -- despite having to pay for dinner and that darn room service or mousekeeping not showing up since Sunday night. :confused3

Thank you all for being part of our cruise experience / memories.

It was great meeting you as well! Did you really book another cruise yesterday?? Yay for you! :woohoo: We will have to wait a bit to let those funds rebuild --- and vacation time at work. :sad2: The swaying... I was sitting on the couch, cuddling with our pup, leaned over to get a glass off the coffee table and - whooosh! - the entire family room went ~~~ like waves, and didn't stop for over an hour. I wore the patch the entire cruise and didn't have a single SECOND of seasickness. But since I've been back - wheeee! I think of it as an extended cruise! :boat:

Nope, not us. We were there Thursday, same time (10:30am) Glad you got home safely.

Origami and corn... there's some good stories to be told there.

Glad you and your sisters had a wonderful time. How was your Palo meal? (Like I have to ask! :rotfl:)

...We were slightly disappointed that Lion King was not playing during our cruise. Real Steel however was and it was an awesome movie! The weather was great!
I think I asked at Guest Services at least 5x if there was any possible way to show Lion King :3dglasses. :rotfl: Someone finally explained to me that they can only have X number of movies onboard during one sailing. With Reel Steel coming on, something had to be removed. (i.e. Lion King :3dglasses :sad1:)

It was great meeting you as well. Let Adrian know I cried too. Yep. The farewell on the stairs got me. Always does. I don't wanna leave! But as much as I searched for a hiding spot, no luck!

I wanted to comment on 5 of you getting sick. Thank you for sharing that and I'm sorry to read it. However, I appreciated reading it because DH has been fighting a cold/sneezing/runny nose since Sunday afternoon. I have been stalling a sore throat from turning into more. I think you may be right about the ship. I told DH, "You're off the ship now. Fresh air. You will be able to fight it off quickly." And he has been giving it a good run for its germs. Hope everyone on your side is on their way to feeling better.

My husband's sick now too, and we didn't fly, so maybe someone was spreading germs on the ship. ;)

See above regarding getting sick. Interesting. Thanks for sharing. I joined a pre-existing WonderQuest group. So much fun! Congrats on winning!

Thanks for joining the Palo group. Glad you enjoyed it. It is something special, huh? We love it!

Thanks, again, everyone for adding to a fun week!

Brunch was Thursday? You must have cleared out before I got there because our 2nd brunch was Thursday at 10:30 and we also had Toni serve us (and had him on past cruises, love him!), but the big room was empty when I got there. I was late because I was doing WonderQuest, so if you saw the single man 2 tables down from the big room, that was my husband! ;)

SECOND brunch? Go you! :woohoo:

Yeah, 10:30am. Maybe when you got there we were all getting our tour of the buffet stations. Our group was being guided around at about 10:45am. But... confused. :confused3 I played WonderQuest later that after. It was that morning, too???

Given your table location, we probably walked right by you sooo many times. Small world. Small ship. :goodvibes

Wait, I think we were there Friday. WonderQuest was at 10am that day. They told me it would take about 45 minutes to play, so I figured, fine, I'll be 15 minutes late. But then we started late cause they gave out the wrong questions, and we finished around 11:20ish. Then we waited for our prize hats (which my son promptly lost in the Lab, and was given a "lab" hat which I think he liked better ;) ), so I got to brunch around 11:30 or so.

We booked the 2nd brunch on board, after our Palo dinner. Alvaro was our dinner server and he told us he was new and we noticed we were his only table all night. We figured he could use requests, so we rebooked. BUT, then we were seated with Toni. I guess seniority takes precedence and he got us since we had him for every dinner, brunch, and tea in Alaska. But whatever, we still got brunch twice!

Though the big perk of being in a suite is that we can get Palo in the room. So the last night we ordered 4 chocolate souffles for us and the kids. :)

So Monday there was a large group, which included the family that sat next to us at dinner. They were the reason I wanted to know when you guys had your brunch cause they were super bitter people and I was hoping they weren't from this thread!! Seems they were not since they were with another group. They seriously despised eating next to us, and yeah, I have 3 small kids, the smallest of whom normally goes to bed shortly after we got to early dinner each night, but really. She had snide remarks the ENTIRE week about the baby.
