That's crazy because from Omaha (halfway across the country) I got tickets for all four of us on Southwest for $1100 today. Thanks for the heads up that they were on sale!

Oh my gosh!!! That's really spendy. I have enough miles for 1 ticket, but don't want to pay $800 for two more. I need to see if Jet Blue has their prices up for that time.

JetBlue is also booking but not much better price wise. Delta is coming in at $298 per person but instead of a 2 hour flight it's an 8 hour flight thru their hub.

Northern Oregon and Washington residents: Alaska Airlines has $229 (plus luggage) roundtrip per person from Seattle into Orange County California.

Also, on Delta from PDX to the Los Angeles area is now $296 on Kayak.com with some non-stop flights.

I'm still shocked at Southwest's rates!!

I actually think that Southwest had my flights incorrectly priced. I just lucked out and grabbed them while they were cheap. When I checked again a few hours later, the flights had gone up $80 per leg per person.

Just watch Southwest. They have specials.

Ours still show as $427 from Chicago to LAX (SNA is usually more). That's United - we don't live anywhere near Midway airport, making SW very inconvenient. So, no booking yet.

Also need to actually tell DH I have this scheduled - concerned still he may nix Mexico.

I am about to catch up on all the stuff I missed. Wish me luck!! We had some personal stuff going on, but thankfully, nothing to interfere with our upcoming cruise!! Actually, it's the thing that kept me going....

all is well, and I am going to jump back in and get organized with the FE. I will post everything that I have in the next couple of days, and hopefully what I have is all current. Hello! I orignially signed up to participate in the FE, but I'm going to need to withdraw my group. I didn't save the PM, so sorry for not doing this directly with the person in charge. We're still going on the cruise, but we'll be traveling around before hand doing some college tours and we really need to pack as light as possible. I hope that doesn't mess up the numbers. I look forward to meeting up with all of you, but really can't see myself dragging a bunch of goodies all over with us.

FYI: Southwest Airlines opened up reservations thru April.

And I almost died from shock and laughter at the prices!!! Roundtrip from Portland, Oregon into the LA area is $1,240.00 for 3 people !!! That's almost as much as the cruise! Looks like we may be driving .

Hi! Just checking other Mexican Riviera sailings to get tips on hotels/excursions...we're traveling the week before y'all..but wanted to let you know I found GREAT deals on Delta on a Sunday afternoon (usually midnight tuesday is when I find them, but this one was amazing and fit with our dates..flying out March 12-returning March 20th)...I got 6 tickets at $158 RT from Nashville, TN to LAX (stop in Atlanta)....don't give up and keep checking, online fares at their website will show different prices...when I tried travelocity and others none showed that fare....so keep checking at delta.com...I even called Delta and they said I better hop on it b/c those prices weren't even showing up in the system!

Two days ago when I checked Southwest was $608 per person and Jetblue our favorite came in lowest at $480m still insanely high for Portland to LA or Longbeach.

Tara, thanks for the heads up. I'm going to call Delta and see what they're offering on the west coast.

Airfare: Delta from PDX to LGB is $263.00 roundtrip w/ a layover in Salt Lake City. Thats for departure on 3/19/11 and return 3/28/11.

DIS Friends:

I made a very difficult decision today and cancelled our reservation for this cruise.

The medical bills from my surgery are starting to come in and I need to prioritize.

I crunched numbers today until my brain was numb. By the time I add airfare (or driving expenses), gratuities, shore excursions, pre-cruise hotel, etc. I just can't do it.

I am sooooooo sad and so extremely disappointed. I really wanted to surprise my "boys" with a wonderful spring break cruise since oldest DS is graduating in June. Glad I had kept it a secret. I guess it just wasnt' meant to be.

I wish you all the most magical of cruises and can't wait to read your post-cruise reports.
