Disney Wonder Hawaii Sept. 2015

Well to get this straight, I don't want to go through the canal, I want to end in California. Why couldn't we do the imaginary Hawaii to Vancouver cruise, then the imaginary Vancouver to California cruise ?? :confused3 We would be ending in Vancouver before starting another cruise??

Because, in the eyes of the PVSA, a Hawaii-Vancouver; Vancouver-CA B2B is the same as a Hawaii-CA cruise. And a foreign-flagged ship cannot transport passengers from one US port to a different US port without a stop in a distant foreign port. A distant foreign port is described as any port NOT in "North America, Central America, the Bermuda Islands, or the West Indies (including the Bahama Islands, but not including the Leeward Islands of the Netherlands Antilles, i.e., Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao)." 19 CFR § 4.80a(a)(2)".

As to whether this is true (B2B being considered one cruise), ask those people caught up in the LA-Vancouver; Vancouver-Seattle B2B debacle in 2012.

Here is a twist on that. Say there is a Hawaii to Vancouver cruise. Then there is a 2 night cruise to nowhere out of Vancouver. After that Vancouver to San Diego. Could someone saild the H-V, get off for those 2 nights, and then get on for the V-SD sailing? It is just when it does not have a sailing in between?

As long as you are not booked as a passenger on the ship for that 2 night sailing and you are staying somewhere shoreside, that breaks up the cruise "repositioning" so they do become truly separate cruises and are allowed. If there were another cruise line doing a Vancouver to San Diego/LA cruise that began the day you disembarked from Hawaii to Vancouver, changing to a different vessel counts as separating the cruises as well, even if you spent virtually no time shoreside in between.

Can't imagine they'd offer a 2 night after offering all of those cruises already out if Vancouver unless it was for this specific purpose. Otherwise offering it to people willing to sail out of California makes more sense.

Totally a hypothetical question on my part, curious on what constitutes "one cruise" in the eyes of that law versus more than one.

I'd say it's being on the same ship for consecutive days from original embarkation date to final disembarkation date. Regardless of whether that's, in reality, one cruise or whatever combination of B2B (2B2B)'s that you book.

heading out to WDW tomorrow and then on the Fantasy on the 24th. Hope it doesnt come out while I'm gone. It will be hard to try and get on the phone while on our way to RD at one of the parks....

You could give a travel agent instructions on what to do in your absence but I really doubt DCL will announce anything before you get back.

Can I just ask, what is drawing you to this particular cruise? What would be the highlight for you?
I thought this is the cruise that I wanted, but now the longer I wait, the more I am questioning why this one?

For me, whats drawing it especially if it starts or ends in Vancouver it is so much easier for us in Alberta or any canadians in Western Canada I bet.

Flights to Orlando are stupid expensive. I've also never been to hawaii so this will be a great way to check it out.

Having done Hawaii before I am lurking at this one. I did a 15 night on TCi Radiance of the Seas in 2007 and all I can say was wow. I has been to Hawaii as a kid and wanted to go back. I will have to say that RCI had the better ports. We had 2 ports in Hawaii both Kona and Hilo with an attempted sail by the volcano. We over nighties in Maui on lahina and then over night in Oahu as well. Great cruise I did everything indep. With rental cars in all ports except Oahu. We did the volcano on our own and did a horse back tour in Maui and snorkeling in Kona. I can't tell you enough how wonderful that cruise was. The Pacific is rough! The pools had to be closed due to rough seas. I am thinking of going back but we also plan to do Aulani for my 50 th in 3 years. I am looking to do the WBTA but may do this one instead will book both cruises and make a decsion before final payment. I am sure Disney will do a great job but we loved Kona. Great snorkeling!

For me it's because it's a west side of the us cruise and long. Love all of the sea days! So relaxing. Also there was no airfare when I went on the RT Hawaii cruise in 2012. Nice option for us over here!

For me... I love anything Disney and never been to Hawaii so combining the two would be a great way to see Hawaii and the relaxation of the long cruise. BUT the AIRFARE is what I'm most afraid of......:scared1:

I was hoping for the one-way since dh owes me a trip to Hawaii and we can drive to Vancouver, so no airfare (except back home). But, doing Norway instead, but still watching this thread in case Norway falls through for whatever reason...

This is my fear too- especially coming from the East Coast! I'm seriously considering getting a credit card that has flight rewards just for this cruise:-)
