Well, I guess my clue gave it away because those of you who guessed were right! We are off to a water park today. Typhoon Lagoon.

When originally planning for our trip I wanted to visit a beach for the day. I was raised vacationing on Mexico beaches while DH was raised vacationing inland. It is difficult for me to be that close to the beach and not go see it. Next time we are definitely booking a few nights on the beach before coming back. DH was not up for renting a car and driving for just one day at the beach so we compromised with a Disney Water Park. You'll remember DH is not really into the whole swim thing. When we first arrived for our vacation I started calling around for car rental for the day figuring that the water park would definitely be out for the day. Well, they convinced me to go. I wasn't sure what I'd be able to do if anything.
Since TL opened at 10 this day we were there for rope drop and DD7 was still desperate to actually "see" the rope.
Well, we saw a herd of people standing and we could hear someone shouting to the crowd but we instead went to our lockers to put everything up. So alas, DD7 yet again did not get to actually "see" the rope.
I had taken time to plan out this day before my injury so I knew where I wanted to set up our towels. We made our way to the beach near the Bay Slides for kids. We found plenty of room under a covered area and set up camp there. First we were off to Gang Plank Falls (Family raft ride). The park was still virtually empty and we walked straight onto the ride. We loved it and had so much fun. It was so fun to be able to ride it as a family and watch the girls squeal with laughter.
When we got off they had a shortcut to get right back on so we took advantage and rode yet again. I was able to hold on w/ my casted wrist and still keep my left arm pretty still.
We were having so much fun that we took the shortcut again for a third ride.

This time we had to wait for a couple of families to get a raft before we got one so we decided it was time to move on. On our way we took this fun picture.
A couple of cast members asked about my cast and one jokingly said, "Well, now you are an official 'cast member'".

I was also informed that I would not be permitted on any body slides w/ a cast. I was not bummed about this at all. I usually try to avoid the wedgy-making enema machines anyway.
Next we went to the Shark Reef. I was really looking forward to this. Throughout the summer I would tell DD7 to practice snorkeling when we were at the pool so that she would be ready to do this with me. I had been told by the doctor not to actually swim so I was wondering if I would have difficulty kicking across w/o moving my right arm. DD7 was excited for this as well. DD4and DH watched as we got our gear and quick info session. Again, no real wait.
Well, our shark experience did not turn out to be what I had hoped. DD7 and I got in w/ another family that was on their 2nd or 3rd swim for the day which was good because they swam off quickly and we didn't end up disturbing anyone. DD7 was initially put off by the cooler temperature. It really didn't bother me at all. She wanted out right away but I encouraged her to give it a try. She then put her face in the water and came up choking on water. Another CM and I told her to go ahead and hold her breath and come up for water. Then I think the combination of the salty water and other conditions were enough for her. She wanted out. I did hurt my arm a little trying to hold onto her. So, a kind lifeguard came over and helped her to the other end. By then we were already about in the middle and I had not yet seen anything. I then tried to enjoy the last half of my swim and look for sharks. I saw several pretty fishes but no sharks.
Next we went to Keelhaul and Mayday Falls. I was a little nervous about letting DD4 ride these rafts by herself. DD7 had some trouble carrying her raft and DH carried his and DD4s. I carried mine w/ my left casted arm since my right arm was still virtually unmovable. DH went first so he could help gather us up at the bottom. I found it very difficult to get out of the raft at the bottom w/o putting pressure on my right side. I ended up rolling off and my tube went flying toward DH. I'm sure several people could not figure out my problem since it only appeared that my left wrist was broken. I was impressed that DD4 did just fine on her own raft and had a blast. We rode each of these a couple of times. DH definitely had to pull his weight x3 or x4 to get us all and our rafts up the steps.
We then decided to take Castaway Creek to Crush n Gusher. This proved almost impossible. DH helped get the girls on tubes. It was nice that they had smaller kid tubes. I tried and tried but could not lift myself onto the tube w/ just one casted arm. DH found it amusing. I finally gave up and lifted the tube over my head and leaned my body over the front half. The family seemed to enjoy this ride and we exited near Crush n Gusher. I was a little nervous about what DD7 would think of this ride since I'd heard it referred to as a "roller-coaster raft ride". DH went w/ DD7 while DD4 and I played in the pool area. I love how this attraction has a zero entry pool attached for family w/ younger children to play in while they are waiting. Great feature

Well, good news. DD7 loved this ride.
DH liked it but had been worried about DD. He said she would not lay back so he was worried about her popping off so he had to try to hold onto her and the tube at the same time.
Well, looking back I don't know what I was thinking because there was no way I could hang on to DD and tube at same time but I decided to ride it w/ her. We did the coconut tube. DD7 did a great job holding on and leaning back so I could concentrate on holding on and keeping my rear up. (I'd previously read the cautions of what can happen to your rear if you drag it.) It went surprisingly better than I could have imagined and we loved it.

Because the ride just goes up and down (instead of back and forth) it was actually easier and less jerky on my arms. We were disappointed when we got out and the photopass photographers had not taken our picture.
After a great morning we made our way to Leaning Palms for lunch. I love how they serve the kids meals in sand buckets! Poor DH had to stand and wait for our lunch for a very LONG time. That seems to be a reliable theme of CS dining during our trip. I'm sure free dining had a lot to do w/ this. When he finally got our food he sat down and they had given the girls the wrong food. So the girls snacked on their fries while DH stood in line for another 15+ minutes waiting for the correct food. We had one of our funny encounters w/ birds during this time. DD7 was holding a fry up to her mouth while watching people float by in the Creek when a bird swooped by and snatched her fry right out of her hand.

Her reaction was just as funny to me. It was kind of delayed as she took in what just happened and then in a non-dramatic tone she says, "Hey, he just took my fry". I've heard about the birds snatching food before. When we looked up we could see several in the trees around us intensely eyeing our food. These birds definitely have found a reliable food source.

DD7 decided that was so neat that she kept holding a fry up but after that first incident it never happened again.
