Disney w/ dogs

I'm looking to see if anyone has done Disney with a dog in tow. I'm looking to go next summer (2011) and we will be driving with our 2 kids and goldendoodle.

Did you use the kennel on-site? Pet friendly hotel?

We have never taken our dogs with us, but may be doing so in June. I was actually surprised that there were options available for renting a house that accepts pets! We have three dogs...2 Goldens and a Shih Tzu. They have never been kenneled. One of our friends always watches them for us (she runs a pet sitting business out of her home....as do we now, to support our Disney fund!). In June, we found a 4 br house with pool, etc., that doesn't charge extra for our four-legged friends. We can't beat $800 for a week with no additional dog boarding charges!

Many dog-friendly hotels will require that the dogs be crated or not left alone, so make sure you check into the details before booking. I know that none of the Disney resorts are dog-friendly.

I've heard the Disney kennels are nice, but don't have any first hand experience with that.
