Disney Visa

My total for three disney adults, one child at S/P/D prices was 5992.42.

My total for Room Only was 2614.27.

What's interesting is when I added on the cost of full price dining plan and tickets to the room only discount I came up with the exact same cost.

I feel like I didn't save as much as I though I would. My room at French Quarter with the discounted SPD 3 adults 1 child is $4985. I checked online and it would be $5063.58. Doesn't seem correct. I couldn't get the CM to give me any specifics about the discount she could only quote me a price.

That seems strange because wouldn't a 5% discount be cheaper? :confused3
You should call again. I have 2 adults, a 10yr old and a 5 yr old. We are staying POFQ STD for 7 nights, 6 day tickets only and DDP and will be paying $3095.73 Jan 25- Feb 1.

I was able to get my AAA travel agent to apply the S/P/D deal this morning! We upgraded from a QS plan to the DDP and went from standard to garden view at POR for only $15 more!

It looks like it saved us about $640 dollars off of rack rates. Pretty good, I suppose.

I can't figure out the deal exactly. Ours was only $15 more for 2 adults and 1 child but my parents was $60 more for two adults.

Are you sure room only goes through April? I was told March 5th? Anyone else??

The early Visa offer for room-only discounts does run through April 12.

It's for stays Jan 5 - Apr 12 with different reduced discounts for dates 3/6/14 to 3/13/14.

Play Stay Dine for Visa is for Jan 5 - Mar 5.

I am really starting to think that part of the SPD discount applies to children this year.
People who have adults only are reporting less of a discount than I would expect:

- Moderate 7 nights with 2 adults / 2 kids was savings of $700
- Moderate 6 nights with 2 adults was savings of $400

The moderate 7 night was standard room... so that probably isn't a factor...

So I called back and figured out that they had been giving me the RO at 5% then adding dining and tickets. So got the lovely CM to switch the code to SPD and the numbers look much better! :dance3:

POFQ Garden View Feb. 22-March 2 DDP and 9 day hopper
Room 1 - 2 adults, 15 yr. old, and 8 year old $4122.19
Room 2 - 1 adult and 2 15 year olds $3652.18

They changed the way the SPD this time around. They are discounting part of the room so if you remove a night you're also losing part of the discount. They aren't specific on what the discounts are (based on resort/room) and/or how much the dining discount is either.

Grrrrr... I have been on hold for 20 minutes. I originally put my deposit on my Disney Visa but the CM is saying in order to get the discount I need to do a deposit on my Disney Visa. :confused3

He keeps putting me on hold to go check if he can apply the deposit I already put down. I told him I was willing to do a second deposit just apply the discount!

If you put the initial deposit with your DV you SHOULD be able to just verify your card numbers... but the way the CMs have been today who knows :crazy2:

I was able to book a RO at BWI for 3-2 thru 3-7 for $1574.14. I calculated that to be about a 35% discount from the rates on their website. Very happpy! CM was friendly, knowledgable and efficient.

Yes, but they only removed 1 night... which doesn't add up to $300 unless they are giving more than 100% discount :P

If it is, SPD + a room discount... than they'd be losing the $59 adult ddp - $18 kids ddp savings per each adult for that one night = $41 for each adult. That is $82. Since both are in theory in a standard room the room rate is say $250ish in february (roughly) so ($300 difference - $82 from dining) / $250 = 80% room discount.

It just doesn't make sense unless you factor in kids getting some sort of discount as well.

Sorry, just having fun trying to guess how the discount is broken up this year. Enough numbers come out and I'll be able to tell you what it is :P

I was trying to do some comparisons on my own and I can't find the code anywhere. Do you have to call WDW, you can't do anything on-line? Tried to find the S/P/D on-line with VISA and there was nothing mentioned. Trying to get everything written out, so when hubby comes home we can talk.
