Disney Visa Meet n Greet... what is it like?

yes, thanks. same rules/outfits? first 90 minutes / sailor outfits?

Can anyone be more specific about the new location? We always get the photos and really like the ones at Ariel's but weren't so happy with the setup at Seasons of the Vine.

When my family did the Disney Visa Meet & Greet; I thought it was a little rushed, but it was also fun, my family got to meet Goofy who was dressed in sailor garb. The CM's got us down the stairs, took the picture, and got us up the stairs in less than 10 minutes. I still enjoyed that we didn't have to wait in a long line, or miss a chance to meet him.

When we did it this past March (Easter Sunday) it was still at the Season of the Vine and there was no wait. The characters were Chip and Dale (no sailor outfits - just regular Chip and Dale). We also did not feel rushed at all and they played around with my 2 yr old until he was comfortable enough to take a good picture. :)

I just spoke to a customer service agent for my Disney visa and she said that the location is changed to the Hollywood backlot by Monsters Inc. Not sure if the change has taken place, but she said that when we will be there, May 6-11th, that is where the Meet 'n Greet will be.:goodvibes

I'm so glad the photo location has moved. Ariel's Grotto was great but the Seasons of the Vine location wasn't ideal. Hoping for a brighter, happier atmosphere in the new location.

Hi, just wanted let you know that the new location is great! :thumbsup2 DD8 and I did it on a Sunday, April 13th. (Even though DCA was busy due to the start of F & W Festival, the Meet 'n Greet, wasn't) I knew from this thread where it was relocated to so once we entered DCA (about 10:30) we went looking for it. It was a little hard to found amongst the Cast Member only signs but we find it. It's located to the East of Monster Inc., behind the gas station set that is there. The CM I spoke to said the purposely made it a little difficult to find so as to keep non-Disney Visa cardmembers away.

It was a great experience. There wasn't anyone there before us and we got Mickey and Goofy. They were in vacation garb-Hawaiian prints, etc. Goofy played with my DD, chasing her around, etc. for a few minutes and then we took some pix. I would say we got to spend about 5 mins. with them. There was one guy waiting in line when we were done. Then we sat on the other side of the Meet 'n Greet and Goofy starting playing, through the pink obscure glass, with DD. He would put his hand on the glass and as soon as she put her hand there, he would move it. She thought this was very funny. He did this for a few minutes until another family arrived.

Here are a few of the pix PP took of us, and I took, using my own camera.

Big Hug ------------------------------------------ I think this is my favorite!

I didn't use my free coupon that day, but since I have until Sept. to use it I know I'll use it another day. Oh, and as I've posted previously, you can use the coupon to purchase ANY 5x7. You are not limited to use it to purchase one from the Meet 'n Greet. I overheard the CM at the entrance telling a family who came after us. Hopefully, this will put the debate to rest about being able to use the coupon for any 5x7. I've know heard it directly from a CM. And I've also done it.

The CM said the characters are rotated every 30 mins. I believe it goes until 1-1/2 after park opening. You can get a coupon for each (different) Disney Visa card you have.

So far I've seen Goofy, Mickey, and Chip & Dale come out for the greets. If you're looking at Monster's Inc. it's to the right near the Studio Catering Co. truck. There's a small sign out front indicating the location behind the seating area.

Thanks so much for the update. I love the new setting and your pictures are great! Can't wait for my family's turn at the meet and greet.

i take it you can also take your own pictures???

So is it still the same hours 90 mins and it opens when the park opens ?

Yes, and yes. :goodvibes

Yes you can use your own camera as well as having PP photog take one of you with the characters with your camera. (You can do this with any PP photog). Yes you can get autographs as well. :thumbsup2 Most people do. DD8 wanted to skip it this time. :confused3

You're welcome and thanks! Have a great time! :tink:

I didn't know where it was located last week but we're going to DCA tomorrow with my friend and her two kids (it's their first time!) so we'll definitely have to do this!

Thanks!
