Disney Visa beverage credit question

I called again and spoke with a different representative just to see if I got the same answer. He confirmed what the other representative told me....that I just need to call after I make my final payment to get the credit added. My next cruise is just a quick 3-night one, so I'm super excited to get $50 in free drinks! :drinking1

Just know you don't get the Disney Visa beverage credit if you are sailing on a cruise that you booked with an OBB. We were on an OBB cruise and had paid for the entire cruise with our Disney Visa (including the original deposit onboard our prior cruise) but Guest Services said that you only get one promo per sailing. Since we had the $200 onboard credit from our OBB, we didn't get the $50 beverage credit.

When did the room credit change to being only for beverages? I remembering getting it years ago and you could use it for anything you charged to your stateroom. Anyone try to use it for anything other then beverages recently?
We used it in March and had some left over. They did not apply it to the rest of our balance. Be careful if you have two rooms and char ge most drinks to one room. The credit is only good for the room it is on.

I called DCL and apparently the beverage credit cannot be given to a GTY booking since it would be combining two offers...

They are very stingy with the beverage credit IMO. Also be careful, if you pay for your full cruise fare and then prepay gratuities or put money on your account, if you do not use your disneyvisa for all of it, you loose the beverage credit.

Okay, I understand: every dollar I spend pre-cruise has to be on the Disney Visa for me to get the credit.

But what about settling my onboard account? If I put my charge on my debit card (they will have that number before sailing) do they withhold the beverage credit?

(I guess it really doesn't matter because the money to pay the Visa comes from the account linked to the debit card...but that info might help someone else.)

Once you are on the ship, it is already on your account and you can pay with anything. You should have a slip of paper on your bed when you arrive stating your on board credit.

As long as all payments (from deposit to final payment) for the cruise (pre-cruise) are made on the Disney VISA you'll get the credit (unless, of course, you have some other special code already applied to your reservation).

Onboard account charges/payments do not also have to be made on the Disney VISA. BUT, paying your onboard account with your Disney VISA will qualify for the 6 months 0% interest program.
