Disney Visa - Anyone use it like this?

I originally got my Disney Premier Card just for the $100 statement credit when buying my tickets last year for MNSSHP, I believe it cost us $30 for two adults to attend :)

Then when in the park I noticed they were running a Apply for the Card earn $200 statement credit and felt had I waited to apply I would have gotten a better deal, so I called Chase up and asked them if I could get the better promotion. They sent an inquiry to the promotion department and unfortunately they wouldn't do it, but they issued me 100 disney dream points instead....how much does one need to spend to earn 100 points? Who made out by asking? ME :)

I've done like most people and charge everything, however I look daily and if there is a balance, I pay it, if there are pending charges I take that amount and transfer it from my one checking account into the other and it sits there till pending becomes posted and then that gets paid. It's a lot of work but my partner doesn't have access to my checking account so money that sits in the one we share he thinks we have it to spend :)

My only gripe about the disney visa is that it is a VISA and not a Mastercard. Sam's Club don't accept Visa, sam's club from time to time carries Disney Gift Cards for less then face value, I could pay for said cards with a disney master card and earn points and save even more!!!!

I know I could do the same at Target, but I don't NEED or WANT another card. My partner says we could save more with a Discover card but I'm kinda attached to my Sorcerer Mickey, he always gets comments when presented :)

Now if only the grocery store that saves me most would allow credit cards I'd be racking up even more money, but alas they are cash/check/debit only, sometimes if I have to go to the store closer to me (which does accept credit but costs more) I have to remind myself, what I'm buying here will earn me mickey money!

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this question. Just wondering if there are any other people that use their Disney Visa card just for the rewards? What I do is use the card for almost every regular daily purchase, then pay it off immediately. I don't like to have credit card debt, so I literally pay it online daily. I know, a bit OCD.

I've never bothered looking into it, but reward points are earned no matter what you purchase and no matter how fast you pay the bill, correct?

Yes, this is how it works. We use it for everything we do with a card except gas, but pay the balance off monthly, usually before the bill even comes. We keep every receipt and send a check every two weeks. We rarely incur any interest at all. In the 15 months between visits, we got a $500 gift card to take with us. It let us have a few special meals we probably would have skipped and some VERY nive gifts for the kids, plus some photo books of the trip. Sadly our biggest expense, the kids daycare, is about done since they are in school now. Our next card will probably not be as big. But yes, use it this way to save.

We've had our Disney VISA since they first became available. We use it for everything, and pay the balance each month...stores, grocery, fuel, dental and vision expenses not covered by insurance. The points add up quickly.

When I bought my car at 0% financing (so why not finance it?) I tried to use my Disney VISA for the money I put down. But I guess that you can't use a credit card (basically a loan) to secure another loan. Too bad - that would have been lots of good points.

We move the points over to our "Mickey" card just before we go to WDW and then use the cash/points towards our resort room fee.

It accumulates very slow. I must not be spending enough. I've had the card since October and only have $44 in reward dollars.:scratchin

You can find a better card, a much better one.

We use the Bank of America Rewards Card, we receive 1% cash back on all purchases, 2% at grocery stores, and 3% on gas.

We've used it since last February and pay everything on it and pay it off. We have over $500 in rewards so far.

We are planning a trip to Disney in 2015 with my parents, i've projected that we will have anywhere from $1,200 -$1,500 in rewards money to help pay for this trip.

I do like that the Disney visa gives you a discount at the Disney Store though.

I just read the fine print and it says you cannot redeem for park admission tickets buying thru the disneyworld website. is that true? if so, can i use my disney redemption card to buy park tickets at the disney store???

I am puzzled by several here who posted that they pay off credit cards "daily" or "weekly". Do some cc's compound interest DAILY? If so, I need to watch for that!!! I've never experienced that. All of the cards I've ever had don't charge interest unless you carry a balance over to the next MONTHLY billing cycle. As long as I pay by the due date each month, I never pay interest.

We are never charged interest on our Disney Chase Visa. I'm not sure either unless it's a running balance from the prior month.

I think some people just prefer to see what they really have left in their bank account, so they pay their card more frequently. No interest is accrued unless you fail to pay in full by the due date. We keep more than enough in our checking account, so I just pay it once a month, but I do check the card account every few days to make sure there are no errors. I used to write every transaction down in my checkbook, but I was filling up several of those suckers a year, so I stopped. :rotfl2:

Snoopy -- you cannot redeem them directly, but if you redeem your points onto a redemption card, which is basically a gift card, you should be able to purchase the tickets. This is compared to their redemption plan for airline tickets, where you can go online and have your points applied directly to the cost of any airline tickets that are showing on your statement.

Sorry, have not read through the whole thread, so apologies if this has been answered. We are planning a WDW trip for Summer of 2015.

We use our Disney Visa for everything and have a lot of points saved. Can we use those rewards points towards the costs of WDW lodging?

Can we get reward points for using the Disney Visa for paying for WDW lodging?

I assume we can just call the number and load our rewards card with points on it like we do when we go to Disneyland, correct? Thinking out loud, I wonder if we need a separate card for WDW, or can a rewards card be used on both coasts? Thanks.

Yes, you can pay off your resort balance with a redemption card, but if you do that you will not earn rewards. You should pay your resort with the actual Visa card and then you will earn the rewards. You only need one redemption card, so as long as the one you used at DL has not expired, you can use that. Redemption cards expire on Dec. 31 of the next year. So if I ordered one right now, it would expire on Dec. 31, 2015. Just be sure to pay off your trip balance in enough time for the rewards to hit your account and order your redemption card (if you need one). I usually pay all of our trip expenses 2 or 3 months ahead of time, and then we use that 2 or 3 following months of rewards for souvenirs and extra snack during our trip.

I want a Disney Visa SO BADLY! For some strange reason, I get approved for every other credit card under the sun except this one! I really don't get it. At first, I thought it was just Chase bank that wasn't approving me, and that they must be super strict. But then I applied for the Southwest Credit Card (also from Chase) and got an instant approval! Anyone have any advice for me or knowledge to share on this? :confused3

Since you already have at least one card with Chase, apply again for the Disney card. If you get rejected call Chase and ask them if you can transfer some of your credit limit from the SW card to the Disney card.
Chase will usually let you do this. Also, I would wait at least 90 days from your last CC application with Chase.
