Disney Visa - Anyone use it like this?

We have the disney chase card and it is our only credit card. Pay it off every month. Love having the savings in the park on merchandise and some food.

We usually use a $100 gift card every vacation just to help pay for the little extra things throughout the park.

Love it!

Just tested it. Our statement balance is due on 2/26 with the current balance around $3700. We have $350+ pending, but I was able to schedule a payment for $5000. I canceled that of course, but it does allow you to overpay. I've accidentally paid our statement balance twice before not realizing I did it already, but we charged enough before the next cycle closed that we didn't end up with a credit. Oopsies. :rotfl:

Was it allowing you to make an immediate payment for more than your balance or schedule a balance for tomorrow or the next day? Just tried it again myself and it wouldn't allow an immediate payment.

I assume it had today's date filled in, but didn't really notice. Even if you schedule it for today, it still isn't an immediate payment. I cannot remember what timeframe they use off the top of my head. Sorry I can't be more accurate. :goodvibes

Speaking of, I just got an email from Chase that my card is being replaced due to the Target fraud. Now I have to change ALL my bills to the new card. CRAP!

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this question. Just wondering if there are any other people that use their Disney Visa card just for the rewards? What I do is use the card for almost every regular daily purchase, then pay it off immediately. I don't like to have credit card debt, so I literally pay it online daily. I know, a bit OCD.

I play the credit card reward game to the max, I use my cards for everything (never use my debit card) and like you I'm OCD and always pay in full each month.

I don't use the Disney card for the rewards that much though as I don't feel they accumulate fast enough compared to a couple of other cards that I have with great qtrly promos. I have racked up some pretty good deals in the last year that I have stashed back for us go to Disney at some point.

$400 - Disney Gift Cards
7 night free stay at a Starwood Hotel with points- at the Swan/Dolphin we would only pay resort fee/parking
2 night free stay at a Hilton Brand Hotel
$250 - Walmart Gift Card
$950 - other cash back in rewards

This pretty much covers everything for us for a Disney trip but the park tickets. Absolutely the cheapest Disney vacation we've ever planned which means I get to splurge at Universal again as well when we go.:p

I think the credit card companies hate me, but I guess they think that one day I won't pay my bill on time... or they are satisfied enough with the merchant fees (lol).

Same for us....this is our fourth card in 18 months due to fraud.

We use our Target Rx rewards (5%) & Red Card (5%) to get $200 Disney gift cards for $180.50....thats one of the best deals we can find.

I think the credit card companies call us "deadbeats". :rotfl2:

I don't have the disney card, but we do use our rewards cards exactly this way. It's money we're already spending, so why not get something back on it, right?

My 6-day trip starting tomorrow is paid almost entirely in Disney rewards points for tickets and food, and DVC for the hotel. :-)

The only out of pocket costs we have are the airfare (which I could have used frequent flyer for, but I am saving) and any souviners or stuff we purchase (and we have a $200 budget from our rewards visa before I start tapping cash).

I recently upgraded to the Premier card and I love it. The rewards (free money) really adds up.

We also pay ours off monthly and use it for most things, including braces. :)

The best part -- I can tell DH that we have xxx reward dollars, so we might as well spend a free day at MK while we're in Florida. This is great when your spouse is not a Disney fan. Also, cashiers compliment my castle card. :)

I use the Disney Premier Visa. I am able to accumulate enough points to pay for all of my dining costs for each trip. I put everything on the card and pay it off each month.

I wish they would allow a customizable premiere card. Its Sorcerer Mickey only.

They have more options with the Premier Card than the regular. Log on to your account and look at the options. There is more than just Sorcerer Mickey.

I've never bothered looking into it, but reward points are earned no matter what you purchase and no matter how fast you pay the bill, correct?

We do the same as well. Last year, our rewards points money covered our family of fours breakfast at Ohana, as well as snacks and toys for the kids at the Disney stores on property. You can pretty much use the reward dollars anywhere on Disney property. Enjoy!!

I also use the card for everything except rent and utilities that charge extra for using a credit card to pay the bill. I try to pay it off once a week. Only problem is I keep forgetting to switch to my other rewards card near the disney's statement date. Seems lately some of my purchases are posting the same day as the statement so I get charged the interest. Im getting better at remembering though. Its a work in process.

I am puzzled by several here who posted that they pay off credit cards "daily" or "weekly". Do some cc's compound interest DAILY? If so, I need to watch for that!!! I've never experienced that. All of the cards I've ever had don't charge interest unless you carry a balance over to the next MONTHLY billing cycle. As long as I pay by the due date each month, I never pay interest.

We use ours for EVERYTHING. We got $300 for the first use and then upgraded to premiere. We had over $2700 banked for this trip!

EXCELLENT! Way to "work" the cards! :thumbsup2 I will have close to $1500 in cashback type rewards and Disney rewards PLUS will have airfare for all 5 of us paid by Southwest card rapid rewards.

yes, I just got a Premiere last month and I was able to choose from several designs. I got the pink one with Mickey and Minnie. Makes me smile every time I pull it out at a store.... that smile is an added "reward" too!

It helps that we paid for our swimming pool and large wooden playset with our premiere card!

A tip for those of you with the premier card...if you know you will be buying something at Home Depot, for example, pick up Home Depot gift cards at your grocery store and use those instead of your DV. That way, you earn 2% instead of only 1%. :goodvibes

I never thought to use it at the dentist! What a great idea. My dental appt. starts at $278 as I need meds, whoa, I will use it the next time for sure:) I also, pay the card off each month. Sadly, I spent all of the reward dollars in October when I was in a Disney store. I love the way I can "earn" extra money:)
