Disney Vacay with the Love Bugs (New 6/23 update ~ Chef Mickeys)

We left our hotel & drive a 15 min trip to Disney. :car:

We're driving under everyone's favorite sign & I'm on :cloud9:.

Next thing, we're pulling into here:

WDW2010551.jpg

We go to Custom House & check-in. I had requested earlier that I wanted building Martinque, section 22.

That's what we were given! :woohoo:
It's a little after 8:00 am & I knew our room wouldn't be ready yet.
We were given our KTTW & told they would send us a text when our room was ready.

Before the trip, I read that CBR was very spread out, but just didn't realize how much until we were driving to the Martinque building. It's huge!

Our section #22 is right in front of the bus stop:thumbsup2

WDW2010154.jpg

We park here & walk to the bus stop & catch a ride to Epcot.

I love the bus stop. Just having shade & benches while you wait is sooooooo nice! We didn't have that on our last trip.

WDW2010540.jpg

On the bus ride to Epcot, I notice there is a boy sitting on the bus wearing a big, furry Stitch hat.
I know this sounds really terrible of me. I think to myself, 'What a tacky hat, why on earth would his mama let him wear that thing'?
I think God heard my thought & decided to have a laugh on me, because it comes back later to bite me in the bonkie! :rolleyes2

We arrive at Epcot just before it opens at 9:00. :yay:

The 1st place we head to is Soarin! We LOVE this ride!:lovestruc

Next post: HERE

great first day there!! I agree with you on the size of CBR, it's huge!!! It's really great if you have a car. When we stayed there, we were in the last building..Trinidad South and it was a 10 min walk to the food court area and we were thankful that we had a car! My dad is not a "wait for the bus" patience type guy so getting in the car and just going is what we do lol.

YAY! You're there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dance3:

Oh no about the Stitch hat!!! I have to agree with you though on those and it's so hot there, imagine wearing one of those? Hold judgement until you see the hats my boys picked out, too!!:lmao:

Love the pic of the 4 of you in front of Spaceship earth! So awesome!!! And yay for Soarin' right away!!!

We stayed at CBR in May of 09-our first trip and really liked it. Yay for Epcot!!

Yay for getting Martinique like you requested. Have one question, did you do online check-in? Just wondering because I was told if you did that your room would be ready no matter when you arrived. Interested to see if that is really true or not.

Can't believe you all had the energy to go to DTD, but I guess in Disney we all run on adrenaline!

Great pic at Epcot. Soarin' is the perfect way to start your day!!

Yay for CBR! I wish I was there right now! So glad you got your request!!

You all look so happy at Epcot! Great pic! Can't wait to see what all you do.

I love the decor of CBR, but the size does scare me a bit! Hope your first park day was wonderful!

Before we went I thought we would walk around the whole resort one time & see which location would have been best. There was no way I was going to walk around the resort once I saw it, it would take forever!
I bet Trinidad South was a long walk! Glad you had a car . Our walk to the food court/pool area was not bad.
We had our van, but never used it at WDW until our last day leaving. I think next time we may use it more.

I can't really judge anyone's hat anymore after what mine picked out! :)
I can't wait to see what your boys pick out!

CBR was very pretty & the kids loved the pool! Epcot is our 2nd fav park, we were so excited to be there!

Yes, we did do on-line check-in. I did not know that meant your room was supposed to be ready. When doing the on-line check-in, I remember putting our arrival time on it. Let me tell you, it was a LONG time before our room was ready. So, if it's supposed to mean your room will be ready, then it didn't work for us.

You are right about the adrenaline at WDW! It amazes me at how much we stay going from morning til night. Then, all at once it hits you at the end of the week:faint:

Yay for CBR! I wish I was there right now! So glad you got your request!!

We were so excited & happy at Epcot!!! We were finally here!!!!!! :woohoo:
I wish I was at CBR right now too, Let's go! ;)

I love the decor of CBR, but the size does scare me a bit! Hope your first park day was wonderful!

The CBR was very beautiful & peaceful outside. Our location was great to everything and it wasn't a preferred section either.
We had a fun 1st day!

So happy you were able to get Martinique! :thumbsup2 Soarin is always our first attraction in Epcot... I just can't get enough of it!

Oh, I can't wait to hear how the Stitch hat came back to bite you! I can't wait to hear what you think about CBR once y'all made it to the room! Woo-hoo for Soarin'-love that ride!

What a great day so far! Driving under the WDW gates is always exciting! :yay:

You got the building you requested! Don't you just love how easy they have made things- texting when your room is ready!

1st ride- Soarin'..perfect! :cloud9: I love that pic of DH and the kids.

I'll learn to think other peoples attire is tacky because my kids will be tacky too, lol!

Waiting for the text is so nice! I remember how before we just had to keep calling & calling to see if our room was ready.

I turned the BIG 4-0 this year!

Congrats! It looks like you took it well!!! :thumbsup2
Levi is a big Dallas Cowboy & Clemson Tiger fan. Go tigers!
Okay, you almost lost me here :sad2:......but I'll try not to let your error in judgment cloud any of my responses.....
Yeah, I'm too shy to say something too. I did have two people come up to me regarding my Lime Green Mickey tag for disboards!
Yeah, that's my problem......shy! :rotfl2: I love looking for LGMHs when we are at Disney, and have mine on quite often hoping to meet some fellow DISers.
Joining in! Looks like a fun trip report!
Is it really okay to say "joining in" when the title of the TR is "love bugs?" I'm just askin'?
Levi kept asking me the same questions about why they were always stuck together.
It is a little known fact that love bugs are always born as Siamese twins!;)
A craft store named Micheal's. A.C. Moore's has them too.
Must be the one on Woodruff Road!
Since I was in charge of our class pumpkin, here is what I painted our pumpkin to look like, ::MickeyMo of course! I used two smaller pumpkins for the ears.

33438_1697908013379_1408253087_1835881_8053340_n.jpg
Great pumpkin!!!

The exciting thing about a GPS is watching the arrival time keep changing to a earlier time when you're booking it on the road! We're making great time & arrival time is getting shorter! After driving an hour, I miss my turn. There's a I26 & a 126, I messed up on which way to go, on the sign they both looked like 1's. Anyway, Christine has to pronounce loudly,"RECALCULATING ROUTE". Hush up! I try to turn her down, but too late, Brad wakes up.
This is just too funny! :lmao: (Female voice, loud and can't shut them up......I'm sure there's a comment in there somewhere........ )
We stop in Savannah, GA at 2:30 to get gas & lunch to take with us. This is our only stop.
Man, I think I would be on :cloud9: if we could make that trip with only one stop on the way!!!
We always dread going through Atlanta.
We usually go through Atlanta, but I really don't think it matters. I can't remember a single trip that we didn't get stopped in traffic for either construction or a wreck.:sad2:

Here are the pics of the room. I took them in case anyone else drives to WDW & needs a clean, cheap room to stay in before checking in WDW. We drove down a day early on our last trip & stayed here too.
Good info. We typically stay off-property the first night so we don't use up DVC points just to sleep. :thumbsup2
I wanted to get a pedicure before we went to WDW, but never found the time that week. I paint Lexi's toes while she sleeps. Isn't this cute?

WDW2010003.jpg
Pretty good you could pull that off without waking her. If someone was messing with my feet while I slept, I would be like :rotfl2:
WDW2010005.jpg

Then I paint my Minnie toes!
WDW2010006.jpg
I had to count a couple of times to see how MANY toes you had. I was expecting to find 12 or something but looks like a normal set of 10 to me! I wonder if braces can help with those big gaps between them though???

Well at least you are TRYING to improve yourself........you did use garnet and black instead of a couple of ugly colors!!! :) (sorry, couldn't resist getting one in there somewhere!)
I used a nail art pen. Do you know how bad I wish I knew how to copy this & post on your TR? I would love to read the answer Marvali would answer!
Hmm, not real sure what you thought you would hear at this point??? I know every time I have to paint a room in the house, the floor always has little dots everywhere like that, so I'm guessing you just put extra paint on the brush and flicked it towards your toes. Nice job not getting any on your foot though! :cool1:
That's right, Buster. You'll behave NOW!!!

Either that or between us this TR is about to make a huge journey downhill fast...........:rolleyes1
Oh yeah, you say that NOW!!! Let's see what your next comment is....... :lmao:

:woohoo: for rope drop!!!
The 1st place we head to is Soarin! We LOVE this ride!
Yep, Soarin' is definitely a keeper! :yay:

Martinique section looks very nice. Did you book preferred? Soarin' is my mom's favourite ride and is the only thing she wants to do for the first 4 hours we're in Disney :lmao:

Glad to hear that you arrived at the CBR and that your request was granted!

Sounds like you guys have started your vacation out right....shopping at DTD, getting your building request and already visiting Epcot!

Funny how you painted lexi's toes while she slept! I love the nail polish. I like your plan to do DTD before you can hit the parks. Great that you got your room you wanted!!

I'm all caught up!!

First I have to agree about the love bug. I have a picture of our door that I'm going to post later in my TR. Our door and entry into our room was covered in the t entire trip. I was glad they didn’t bite but it was frustrating to walk in our room and have 10 of them followed.

Your Mickeys Pumpkin was amazing!!! You are very talented! Also your toenails...so cute! I would love to see what kind of scary mess I would create if I tried to do something like that.

I also was very disappointed with the 5.00 store. I went because I seen tons of people inside looking around. But quickly found out that it was all the same stuff.

All the pictures of your family sleeping are precious. You are very blessed!!

I'm here, I've been off the DIS a lot lately due to life being busy! I hope to catch up soon!!!! :goodvibes

First, I want to say, thank you for making me smile & laugh everytime I read your comments on the Dis!

Okay, you almost lost me here :sad2:......but I'll try not to let your error in judgment cloud any of my responses.....

You'll be happy to hear that Levi wore his Gamecock jersey to school yesterday. I was going to get a pic to post, but didn't. People tell him that his confused because he likes all SC teams, loves going to Furman games. But, we all know the Tigers are #1 ;)

Yeah, that's my problem......shy! :rotfl2: I love looking for LGMHs when we are at Disney, and have mine on quite often hoping to meet some fellow DISers.

I think I must not be observant enough, I look, but have not seen another LGMH yet.

It is a little known fact that love bugs are always born as Siamese twins!;)

Now you tell me

Must be the one on Woodruff Road!

Forgot you live in the upstate & that statement freaked me out for a split second before I remembered.

Great pumpkin!!!

Thanks!

This is just too funny! :lmao: (Female voice, loud and can't shut them up......I'm sure there's a comment in there somewhere........ )

har har har

Man, I think I would be on :cloud9: if we could make that trip with only one stop on the way!!!

Always one stop on the way & one stop back. And, don't think that you're going to sit & eat inside anywhere either.

We usually go through Atlanta, but I really don't think it matters. I can't remember a single trip that we didn't get stopped in traffic for either construction or a wreck.:sad2:

No Atlanta here. We go towards Columbia.

Good info. We typically stay off-property the first night so we don't use up DVC points just to sleep. :thumbsup2

I don't blame you.

Well at least you are TRYING to improve yourself........you did use garnet and black instead of a couple of ugly colors!!! :) (sorry, couldn't resist getting one in there somewhere!)

ok, you disappoint me here. A guy is asking how to do nails, I was looking fwd to your comment on this!

I'm sure the story is interesting and all, but I just want to know what your bonkie is??? :confused3

Don't know who in our family started it, but it's our word for derriere :confused3
