Disney Vacation Club Travel Show!!

Tomorrow evening we'll be attending the first ever DVC Travel Tour:cool1: :cool1:
My whole family is so excited. :woohoo:
Strong National Museum of Play, where the tour will be held, announced that for the next 4 days, Magic Kingdom's Dapper Dans as well as a drum group from Animal Kingdom Park will be performing. I am so thrilled to have a little Disney here in Rochester, especially as we head into our 6 months of winter.

I will report back on the event:thumbsup2

So, how was it? popcorn:: popcorn::

Just got home from the dvc road show at Strong Museum. It was definitely well done, characters for the kids, (Micky and Minnie, Chip and Dale). 60 minute presentation during which they gave away 25 points to use for a stay, 100 disney dollar gift card, kodak digital frame, gift basket with lots of goodies. Sadly we did not win anything. There was a room with desserts afterwards, mad chocolate, yikes! even a fudge bar with assorted fudge, fruits, wine, beer, punch, all kinds of yummy treats. Oh and they gave every member a free year membership to the Strong Musuem. I thought that was great (family membership)
Also got dvc mickey ears upon arrival. Very fun night. Nice presentation also showcasing upcoming blt and the cars land in Disneyland

Thank you!

So, if you choose to add-on at the show, there are no developer points for SSR. For a 100 point add-on, it may be better to get the 100 developer points not at the show.

Which is more valuable, 100 developer points for SSR, DL or World Passport or a 3 night stay in the Treehouse Villas?

Tough choice?

Am I correct in my assumption that there are no developer points being offered?

Thanks,
Jerry(jjgraff30)

Any restrictions for the 3 night stay at Treehouse Villas, i.e. weekend nights??

Thanks for posting the info. Gives me something to think about for the next couple days. Originally we were going to look into BLT when we were down in Feb. ... and we still might.

I'm loving it if they give out museum memberships!

incentives were either for akv or blt
100 pt was $8 off for akv $5 off for blt
there were incentives for each level of 100 pt add on 160 200 all the way up to 380 or something like that. I did not write anything down because I did not plan on adding on at this time, although looks like many did. You also got with each add on a gift card 200, 300 , 400 depending on pts. Also trips to ssr treehouse villas, nyc, and with the largest pt add on you got an adventures by Disney trip. Sorry not specific, but I was not going to add on so I did not document anything. I did not think it was any different from when we get promotions in the mail to add on.

No mention of developer point that I heard. I few other cool things about the show itself. They handed out cute Mickey DVC pins, the Mickey ears with DVC logo, a really nice vinyl DVC folder with pen, writing pad and DVC info when we entered the show, handed out packs of Disney card games to the kids and free passes to ride the train or merry-go-round. They also had a Kid's Club set up, so that the kids didn't have to sit through the show. My kids loved it. They had games, toys, movies character photo opts and coloring tables. In addition, the dessert reception after was great. Platters of cookies, candies, fruit, dips, punch, water, beer, wine and a fudge station! The fudge reminded me of the Candy shop at the Boardwalk. The DVC castmembers were very nice; we enjoyed speaking with many of them. For those of you going with kids, we arrived at the museum at 4pm. We were the first ones there for the DVC show. They gave us our ears and lanyards and let us in the museum to play for free. Because the museum closes at 5pm, we had the entire museum to ourselves from 5pm to about 6:45. There was only one other family, and they were with us. My kids had a blast. They did everything they've ever wanted to do there, but usually can't because of crowds. VERY COOL!!!
Even if you don't think you are adding on at this point, the show is definitely worth attending for a fantastic dose of Disney Magic. I can't say enough, obviously;)

Thank you everyone for posting!

Does anyone know if there are restrictions for the 3 night booking at Treehouse Villas? (weekend nights, season choices)??

A few of the bonus stays with add-ons had notes indicating that they would be good for stays during value seasons - but that might have been for the 3 night cruise - I can't remember.

One cool thing about the treehouses is that they will be 3 bedrooms, sleeping nine, but one of the bedrooms will have bunkbeds. That was news to me. My kids would love to stay there.

Thanks for the discription AKG. It makes me want to stay for the show. Although I'm fighting sick kids.

I like the treehouse stay but I don't know if we would be able to use it. We always travel at school breaks - usually President's week and that is beyond the 11 month window when we could reserve.

Just curious, Did you get the 1 year membership for the museum even if your didnt add on??

We are thinking of going but not planning an add on at this time..

Just trying to decide if we should still go, we have about a 2 hour drive there We are registered for the 4pm show tomorrow

For those of you that went and got the museum membership..is it a voucher? Wondering b/c we just joined the museum in Sept. I was hoping to use the gift to extend our membership. Can't wait to go tomorrow! Wow..what a nice surpise!! :cool1:

Everyone, who attended, received a membership, whether they added on or not. Not sure about the voucher question.
