Disney TV at Sears for $29! Better Hurry

So, I called their number and spoke to a clueless Representative. She said that the credit card denial letter goes out automatically when an order is cancelled before confirmed. What? Why tell someone that their credit card is denied? She couldn't answer. She said both orders were cancelled....one would be a charge/refund and the other would supposedly go away as a pending charge only. Whatever! It's a shame that big companies like this can and do get away with this sort of behavior. Rest assured, I'll never step into a Sears again. Craftsman who? Kenmore who? Customer Service is the name of the game, and they've failed miserably. If I get the energy up, I may shoot a letter off. Why bother though? It's apparent that they've not established any protocol for this major snafu. Instead, they've hung their Representatives out to dry on this ordeal!

They CAN NOT charge you higher than you agreed to pay for the television. If you already have it in your posession the highest that they can charge you is the $29.97 (plus tax). Make sure that you save any reciept or e-mail that you may have as proof for your credit card company.

I still can't believe that they have bumbled every single step in this whole ordeal.


Oh we have our copy put away just in case. I'm just not trusting Sears too much at this point.
 
not sure what is going on.... ordered my tv yesterday am- immediately got my confirm to P/U on 10/29. will run to Sears tonite but have checked the order status numerous times today and it keeps going back and forth from processing to processed.... never cancelled- and no email cancelling. Worth a quick stop at sears to see if I can p/u one if they have one in stock
 
Can you imagine how frustrated the Customer Service reps must be?

First of all, most of them were probably unware that such an ordeal got started. Then they are getting calls from irrate customers who are flipping out over an obvious pricing error.

Sears should have a better control of the problem by now, but it is a holiday weekend. I hope they have enough sense to let all their personel know what the story is.

I do agree, saying a CC is declined when that certainly is not the case, is just plain bad business.

I also ordered mine yesterday am and the same thing is happening to me with the going back and forth between processed and processing, also never got any cancellations and got my confirmation email right away.

I sure wouldn't want to be one!!! Can you imagine what the person who mistyped the ad is going through??
 
Well, I got my pick-up email, my order says ready for pick-up; however, someone from the Sears store called and left a message on my machine that it was an error on Sears.com and they would not be honoring the price.

They left the # of 1-800-549-6581 for sears.com corporate.

Maybe I'll have my boss call tomorrow!

Me too-I have the confirmation email and my order goes from processing to processed. I kinda wish they'd just send me the blasted cancellation notice. I feel like I'm waiting for the ax to fall :rotfl:
 
Exactly the same for me. It's not nice to give us false hope, is it? :wizard:
 
FWIW, I saw this post this morning, and order a TV at 6:00 am, I got the confirmation e-mail around 10:00 and picked it up at 2:30...no questions asked!

I went to order one last night-- when I got to the page to enter my cc # I realized I had left my purse in the car so I decided to just do it in the morning.

Today I tried to place my order online and was unable to click on the TV. I called the 800 number and they said there was an error on the pricing . It was mismarked and should be 104.99 like the princess TV and they were not taking any more order untill it was corrected.

If I had just gotten up and gone to my car last night UGH !!

Well I'll be curious if they honor the orders already placed- Please let me know

I don't understand those of you who were able to place orders this weekend. I tried Fri night, Saturday and yesterday. Each time, the tv would show up with the cheap price, but would not let me click on it. I probably wouldn't have been able to get the great deal, but I would have at least liked to try.

Just got my 2nd cancelation order. Big suprise it says my cc was declined. I used a different card this time so I called the cc company and indeed there was an authorization on file to Sears.
So I called an complained--big deal to them :rolleyes:
I also wrote in an email what happened and why I wont shop there anymore. Pricings errors I can live with, being lied to about the facts I cannot and will not live with. If they cant be honest with me then they dont need my business.
 
I wish I lived closer to clark Howards area!! I thought about him when this started!! I don't know where we stand right now though. My dh has the confirmation and delivery date but he is at work so I have no way of finding out anything else until he gets home. I feel sure that we won't get one just by what everyone(mast anyway) are getting in emails. I wish we had gone to the store yesterday but we were waiting on a visit from my Mom.
 
Gotta, the page wouldn't come up for me-then I left the room,came back about 1/2 hour later and it had loaded. Not that it's going to do me any good.

Well, my 1st order that I made early Saturday morning I just got an email that it has been canceled and my CC credited. I called CC company and there wasn't a credit so I called Sears and they said it would take 2-3 days. I still have one order that goes from processed to processing so we'll see.

I pretty much took the same route. I wrote back and told them to cancel my sears charge card when they cancel my order and also to unsubscribe me to all sale notifications. I have a choice of where I shop and I refuse to patronize a company that treats me like this. If we had made a mistake somehow I think they would not be so forgiving.
