Disney Trivia...Let's Play!

How about this...

Wolfgang Reitherman, Les Clark, Ward Kimball, John Lounsbery, Ollie Johnston, Eric Larson, Frank Thomas, Marc Davis, & Milt Kahl.

They were called the 9 old men b/c the core group of supervising animators were a permanent fixture of the studio. Jokingly, Walt Disney compared the board to President Roosevelt's Supreme Court justices, who the president dubbed "the Nine Old Men."

JoNo...Yes, You are correct :teeth:

Looks like you're up....

:p

Sun Hill Rubber Company of Barberton, Ohio developed what during the world war to help ease children's mind?

Would that be the first Mickey Mouse doll???

Not exactly.... but somewhat close!

Was it a Mickey Rubber Ball of some kind?

/
no, but let me give a few more clues...

it was during the great war...

it DID involve Mickey Mouse....

There were about a hundred prototypes, but not mass-produced due to rubber shortage...

It was something almost every good-thinking person owned and was also used by the military....

and lastly, it used Mickey Mouse to be "less scary" to children...

Rather than a toy, was it something like a helmet, gas mask, water bottle, etc. Something that would have been considered a necessity rather than a luxury?

That's correct Minnie, it was a Gas Mask. It was designed so little children that had to put it on were not scared because it had an image of Mickey Mouse on it.

Your turn!

In what Disney movie did Rolph Von Wolfgang star and what was the name of his character?

I have no idea on the Rolph von Wolfgang question...but I'll guess he was the villian in "Escape to Witch Mountain..."

BTW...great question JoNo....:) I love things like that...I never knew there was a Mickey Gas Mask....I love learning things like that :)

Rolph was not in Escape to Witch Mountain. He played the title role in the movie he starred in.

WBMinnie.... I'm stumped, how about a hint? Animated or live action movie?

Live action. Rolph was discovered while playing at Disney's Golden Oak Ranch.

I think this is stumping everyone.. I have the SLIGHTEST idea... but i'll probably kick myself when I hear the answer.

Okay, a little more information...

Rolph had nobody to watch him at home (I suppose) so he went to work with one of the tree trimmers working at the Golden Oaks Ranch. He was discovered while playing with the tree trimmer during a break. He made his movie debut as the star of the movie we are looking for in 1972.

I'm thinking that the answer to this question is an animal of some kind....

After doing a little digging, I found 4 Disney movies from 1972...but I'll guess it was called "The Buscuit Eater"

I'm going to guess "Old Yeller". Even though the year is wrong. But wasn't it filmed at the Golden Oaks Ranch?
