What does it cost for a taxi from Disney to Universal?

I read in the UG that you can take the Mears shuttle for 16.00 round trip. I'm sure that's cheaper than a taxi. I was on their site and they also go to Busch Gardens and Sea world.

I read in the UG that you can take the Mears shuttle for 16.00 round trip. I'm sure that's cheaper than a taxi. I was on their site and they also go to Busch Gardens and Sea world.

We used the Mears shuttle last Sunday for BC to Discovery Cove. Morning pickup was about a 10 person, handicapped able van, with a slightly surly driver. Took my cash (need exact), handed me a receipt ticket, and told me to call 2 hours prior to my desired return pickup. I said, "I booked the return already, when I made the reservation 2 weeks ago". "Call 2 hours before your desired return," I was told again.

So, I go to the cell phone around 1:20, locked up at DC, and call. "Oh, yes, we have you on return at 3:40". Then we go to leave, and there's a taxi outside with a driver holding a paper with our name on it. He said that Mears didn't have anyone else for shuttle pickup, so they put it out to the cab service (also Mears company). We get in, and he starts talking about how dispatch told him to collect money from us. I don't think so, and I've got a receipt to prove it. He calls dispatch, and goes round and round with them while driving us back to BC. And now its POURING! He's so distracted and upset (that apparently Mears will pay him less than a normal cab fare would be) that he drives right past the BC, and then wants to turn around in the rain in the street! We convinced him to make the u-turn at the BW.

I didn't pay one extra dime, and there was no way I was going to. As time permits, Mears will be informed of our experience. So, just be careful with the shared van service. I know many have stated that they had good service, but in the future, I might just spend the extra money for somebody like Happy or FL Tours.
