They are booking for June now. Best bet is to call Disney Dinning. They are super helpful!

Dining Reservations

There were plenty of openings for early June.

We did ours during the Christmas party and that was really too much. So try a non party day.

I hope you can get it, it really is magical!

We booked a dinner at Boma, we are looking into doing a character breakfast. I've only flown Southwest once, and that was a decade ago. We will probably go back up to Disney within a week for Star Wars weekends.

We booked 1900 park fare for dinner. I love the stepsisters, so I really want to see them again.

It's so exciting to read everyone's plans! I had a lot of catching up to do, I haven't been on here in quite some time. You guys sure know how to plan a heck of a trip!

We are going May 1st. I just heard from our planner about our World of Color dining and am slightly disappointed. She's given us the picnic lunch dining option - I was hoping for dinner or lunch at an actual restaurant although I suppose it makes the most sense since it is probably the cheapest option. I was wondering, has anyone experienced this? The food doesn't look very appetizing but I hear the viewing is great.

I'm kind of surprised that your only getting the picnic, that seams kind of cheap :( maybe ask if carthay circle is an option for it, maybe they just thought you would like the picnic? It's still carthay circle right?

Yes, they also list Ariel's Grotto and the Wine Country Trattoria as dining options any of which would be nice. I'm going to send her an email tomorrow morning asking if these are possible. I wasn't sure at first if I should but now I think I'll just do it. No harm in asking right?

I hope I didn't sound unapreciative of the prize with the "cheap" comment. I'm happy with anything they give me, but given the dining gift card we are getting it seems like a lot less. I would think the prizes are similar in value, although I could be wrong.

Yeah, on the one hand we were like that is kinda cheap for Disney. Although we are also worried we sound bratty and spoiled by wanting better dining. But a sit down dinner would be so much nicer! Might as well ask. Plus Ariel's Grotto? If that is an option I might die of happiness.

I wouldn't ever pay for Ariel's grotto, I don't think, but I would love to try it on someone else's dime :) if my girls were die hard princess fans I would have to consider it, but they're little and didn't know it was an option for our last trip. I would love to do BBB with them though!

I totally agree. Character dining is enjoyable but a little too pricey for my wallet so if we could swing that I'd be beyond thrilled. Plus, my sister's friend who is coming with us has never been to Disney before in any capacity (the rest of us have done WDW before) and she expressed a wish to do character dining so it would be extra special in that case if we could snag it. BBB is just about the best thing of all time, in my opinion, haha. I really hope when I have kids they'll be into that because I just think it's adorable.

We did surfs up and breakfast with Minnie in February, totally worth it IMO, but goofys kitchen and Ariel's grotto are more expensive and from what I read about AG the interaction wasn't great. The food at the plaza inn is great, the omletts are amazing, surfs up had the better character interaction but the food wasn't as good. If you get the chance I suggest the fried chicken at the plaza inn for dinner too. So good, we shared it twice! It's about half a chicken, mashed potatoes, beans and a biscuit.

Thanks for the tip that sounds so delicious! Oh man, I swear I have a separate stomach reserved for disney food, it's just so good!

Heard back from the planner, apparently the picnic option is the only one they can reserve and pay for in advance. Still a little disappointed about missing out on delicious free food but am excited for World of Color!

We had a crummy view of world of color and didnt think much of it. I think if we had better viewing it would have been a totally different experience.

Do you think one experience is worth more than another or are they worth about the same . Like will the big thrills be worth he same as the romance one

I think they are generally all worth the same....give or take a few hundred. However for my family, with both Thing 1 and Thing 2 being under three years of age it made sense to do one of the packages that was not geared toward children. Our children will be with us of course, but we chose other family members to be our actual guests......19 days and counting.
