I'm thinking of re-doing the kids' bathroom and lI'm ooking for some Disney ideas. We have one girl (age 5.5), one boy (3.5), and one baby on the way...so I'd like to stay gender neutral or at least have a mixture...not all princess or all cars/pirates, etc. I saw a Mickey Mouse shower curtain on Target's website, but it's black/red/white and I'd prefer to avoid black and red as main colors if I can find a different color scheme. I've also seen Pooh shower curtain which my kids have kind of outgrown, and a princess shower curtain but I don't think my son would be a huge fan of that as the main theme. Does anyone have any other ideas? I was thinking of either doing Mickey/Minnie/Goofy/Donald, etc., or Peter Pan with Wendy, etc., or maybe a pirate/princess theme...but I'm not sure what I'd actually do for these themes. Have you seen Disney shower curtains anywhere? I also thought about making a shower curtain but I'm not sure where to find cool Disney fabrics. Thanks in advance!

What we did:

Hired a painter, who painted a blue sky on the top half of the walls & blue waves on the bottom. It looks great!

Purchased a special order "Finding Nemo" door from Home Depot (sadly, these are no longer available)

Purchased several Nemo prints for the walls. DH framed them (owns a frame shop)

Bought some 4X6 "Finding Nemo" picture frames in Epcot & displayed a picture I'd taken of our kids in a clammobile on the Finding Nemo ride in Epcot. In the other frame, we put a picture I'd taken of DS & DH on a boat we rented at CBR. Those are displayed on a shelf in the bathroom.

Bought a Finding Nemo bathmat at Kohl's

We have a nemo bathroom as well. We ordered our shower curtain, hooks, and bath rug from Amazon. We wallpapered our bathroom using the paper illusions kids tear and stick paper so it looks like the ocean and we out up some wall stickers too of crush, nemo, and dory. The kids love it. Even my seventeen year old still thinks that our kids bathroom is the most fun.

you can find that at just about any fabric store, or I've found some cool ones even in the fabric section at walmart!

maybe even a plain white curtain, and use fabric paint to make mickey's on it. (they don't have to be black! use any colours you want!)

We have a minnie mouse themed bathroom! We got red and white polka dot shower curtain, towels, rug, soap dispenser, klenex holder, and trash can. WE got some minnie mouse art for the walls and put some of the small stuffed minnie mouse's on the shelf above the toliet.

I used the red and white polka dots stuff so as we DD grew out of minnie we could easily change without causing an arm and a leg!

I saw some cute "cut outs" done in vinyl that were done on a cricut machine
then coloring book pages that were framed
bright color towels, rugs & soap dish things

Ours is Mickey/Disney general themed. We currently have a Mickey filmreel border that has been in the bathroom for about 15 years and the walls are all white. I now have red rugs and a Mickey soap dispenser and trachcan and a Mickey shower curtain fron the Disney store. I have one to replace it with that I bought at Target on clearence for around $10 as aback up when i need a new one or when I get tired of this one and want a change! But my favorite part of the room is the photowall! I have pics of the family, mostly the kids with characters in clip frames with bright colored mats around them. We also started placing our pins in the wall around the pics when we have a complete collection of if we have favorite ones that we don't want to get rid of. We used to have large pic of the castle that was a mosaic of all of our pics from one year but it fell off the wall and broke so I am working on replacing it. But i am not in to big of a hurry to do it since I am going to repaint the room when the weather changes. I think I am going with red, yellowand black stipres and a hand pianted border with Mickey heads stamped on it! I will try to post pics of the pic wall if you are intersted let me know. This is definatly my favorite room in the house!

Thank you for all of your replies! I love all of your ideas! Decisions, decisions! I really have to keep looking for shower curtains and/or fabric...I think I should decide on that first and then paint/decorate the room to go with that. Thanks again!

What about using a solid color shower curtain, and just accessorizing with Disney? We have a Nemo bathroom as well but we have a white curtain with circles on it that kind of looks like bubbles. We accessorized with Nemo toothbrush holders, cups, towels, etc. Our walls are blue with sea weed handpainted on the bottom. We also used orange toilet seat covers and throw rugs. We got one of those pictures taken in front of a green screen( when you are walking through the Figment gift shop) with us swimming with Nemo! Its a hit with guests! I think it is a nice balance and not too "over character"ized. Then again we are too adults so maybe that is why I feel the need to make it 'more mature'!! I love our Disney bathroom! Its the only fun room in the house!!

To the PP with the minnie bathroom -- Id love to see pics!

I also wanted to add that we made our own wall art by framing wrapping paper! very cheap!

DISboards never disappoints! DW wants to remake the guest / DD5, DD3 shared bathroom into a Minnie Mouse themed ones to use some of our pictures from our visits. I knew if I looked, I could find some ideas on here. Thanks for the tips re:fabrics for shower curtains. It is amazing to see how much Mickey stuff there is but not much Minnie. And we are not going the princess route!

Has anyone else done a remodel job and has tips they want to share?

heres a post I found via google with some ideas from this board: /showthread.php?t=1335710

just add the rest of the addy of disboards since I dont have enough posts!:goodvibes

Target has some new Disney Bathroom accessories and shower curtains. I saw them about a week ago. They were too cute. Might be worth checking out. I know they had Mickey Mouse and not sure what other ones.

I saw that too. I think the other one is Toy Story themed.

I just redecorated my daugher's bedroom/bathroom. I was inspired by the Disneyland Hotel Pirate Suite.

Here is a link: http://www.hilaryshepherd.com/rants...neyland-hotel-pirates-of-the-caribbean-suite/

It's a little bit more grown up version but you could always put the Peter Pan Pirates and Tinkerbell. We used tapenstry looking fabrics, pictures of Jack Sparrow, framed maps, wrought iron, treasure chests, globes, etc. I even put a small Tinkerbell in a lantern (like Captain Hook did to Tink). Hobby Lobby has a ton of cool things. Wait for 50% off sales.
I did a neutral paint and used a metalic glaze from Lowe's. It's easy to apply. Actually, the messier you do it, the better it looks.

It was a lot of fun and she won't grow out if too quickly.
