Disney exercised ROFR on a contract we were buying at BCV- 155 points at $83 per point December use year and no points available until Dec 06. I guess we'll try again when somethlng comes up.

Here's Pixie Dust for your next and better contract! I love the BCVs. Can't wait to go back for Spring Break!!

Cinderpals:)

BCV is white hot now for resales...........we know someone who sold 320 points at 88 a point that got ROFR'd last thursday..............i thought they were safe.

We're at BCV now - weather has been great! I'm using my Treo650 which is OK for E-mail but not for this (although better than nothing). Wanted more points and I thought Disney would match SSR. Just wanted to add input to ROFR actions.

I think with all the Sales of SSR alot of people were also looking at other resorts .Knowing this info Disney is swipeing them up left and right.

I'm so sorry!!! I hope you have better luck next time. The BCV's are so worth the trouble!!!

Yikes! I hope our purchase at $90 per pt goes through - I thought it would be a slam dunk!!! Should hear about this within the next week!!!

This has me worried too...we have a contract for 200 BWV points March UY, with 160 banked 05 points. Our contract is for $81, and we submitted it on Nov 22. I know we have up to 30 days, but it did not make me feel better when I read the previous posts of other's resales which were ROFR'ed with higher price per point than ours. I know that my agent said when we placed our bid, $77 was about the cut-off...could it really have gone up to the low 80's???

Wow...you can always do it our way, purchase the smallest resale you can find, then add on thru DVC direct. Good Luck.

Maybe they are cracking down on small contracts. We own some wdw stock so were glad to see it did not pass as a shareholder but sad as DVC'ers

Discouraging, hope you do better next try. I bought my DH one share of Disney stock last Xmas, he turned around and bought himself some more...can't wait to see what the new leadership brings to it's value. I tell him it's a variation on the "buy where you want to stay" theme.

This is very hot topic at DVC. They look at many things beyond just the price per point, marketing costs, how long someone has been in the sytem, all kinds of variables. There is no threshold price per point that automatically makes it. They look at total profitability of the transaction. That is the factor and each sale is individual. Obviously the guides hate resales and there is tremendous pressure on DVC management to solve the problem all the time. The ones that make it through ROFR are the ones that Disney could not make a dime on.

EX Vac Guide when you write how long a person is in the system are you referring to the buyer, seller, length of time contract has been for sale? Thanks.

How would the length of time someone is in the system make a difference whether a resale passes ROFR or not?

I don't see resales going away. Are guides looking for Disney to act as a resale agent? Are guides looking for a procedure to be developed where a member can sell their ownership interest directly to Disney?

They look at the profitablity of the whole transaction from Disney's perspective. Meaning how much would it cost to buy it back and how much to sell it. They also look at the factors of demand for that product and if the buyer of the resale has been looking into DVC for awhile, there is no published time on how long in the system. But if they purchased through Disney, cancelled, purchased again, cancelled, came in on site through our transportation, spent couple hours with guide, bought them lunch, that all costs money. Every scenerio on resale has been looked at, doing it in house, out sourcing, everything. It is always on the top of the list. If you are thinking of resale you should talk to a DVC guide and tell them what you are looking at and compare. Of course they will try to get you to buy through DVC but most will tell you when you have a deal they cannot beat. They will also make sure you have all of the information as they will retain you as their guide and generate more business down the road. Many purchase with misunderstandings of how things work. Even if you buy through resale, (everyone understands the savings) you will still have a DVC guide, might as well be up front from the beginning.

I think it depends. We brought BCV 160 pt with 160 pt banked March UY at $88 and it passed ROFR. You never know with Disney which ones they want.

Good luck,
