Disney raising ticket prices this weekend

That's really strange. Current non-resident single day Magic Kingdom tickets are $99. I wonder where Channel 9 is getting its information.

No doubt prices are going up, and most likely this Sunday - it's been a year since the last increase - but since it appears their basic information is wrong, I'd hesitate to trust anything in this brief article.

There's not actually any resident discount on single-day tickets, so technically they're correct. The current resident price is the same as the non-resident price.
 
I'm not sure why a lot of the news stories are leading with "local" ticket prices are going up, but the news I read spun it that way too. It's been coming, no surprise. In practice, few people buy a single day ticket and that's why it's priced the way it is. Smart marketing by Disney without a doubt.
