Disney Quest

I have been doing some research for my Christmas trip and we intend to spend a day at DQ. We have been to WDW before but didn't do DQ. I know the basics about it, being on 5 floors and that cyber space mountain is there. But what else? I have seen a list of attractions and know what floor they are on but I don't know exactly what they are or what they do.
I would like as much info as possible on the attractions so I can decide which ones we will like to do and in what order. There will be two adults visitng if that helps.

Disney quest is a ton of fun for the gaming crowd. We usually spend about 6 hours total there during a week long trip.
One thing to know about Disneyquest, it's difficult to get from floor to floor, so the less bouncing around, the better. My suggestion would be to try all the group stuff first (like Virtual Pirates of the Carribean, Cyber Space Mountain) and then let everyone (if they are old enough) break off to do what they'd like to do, since not everything appeals to every one.
Don't forget to do the treasure hunt (unsure of the name, but it's where you drive minature cars around a huge map on the floor and try to collect treasures!).

There is nothing worse than writing an indepth description of something then when you click on Post it asks for your passowrd again, and of course the message isn't there anymore.

There's a Buzz Lightyear game which is like bumper cars with cannons! Virtual Jungle Cruise puts you on a raft, takes you back in time, and you paddle for your life! Virtual Pirates of the Caribbean takes place on the deck of a pirate ship where you use your cannons to blast other ships for gold (loads of fun!).

There's LOTS of stuff there! I'm sure you'll find your favorite classic arcade games as well as pinball, shooting gallery games, sports games, flight simulators, and more.

I thought Cyber Space Mountain was a blast yet, the rest of it I really didnt like. But I havent been there in like 4 years and I dont really play video games, so I guess thats really not much imput! Funny story though, the only time I have ever been there, Britney Spears was there (this was right before she hit it big) and I literally bumped into her! This was when she was still a good, clean ,Disney kid!

I have never been to DQ. I would guess that it is best for pre-teens and up, who enjoy spend hours in an arcade.

Any recommendations? We have two DD, 7 and 8. I think that arcade games are still a little above them them, so it may not be worth it to go this trip.

DQ is definitly worth your time! We love the Pirates ride... you shoot cannons at other ships and at the end you win.. or sink. It's 3-D and tons of fun. We also like the Aladin ride. It's virtual reality and your whole party can ride the magic carpets together on an adventure. Then there is "Build your own Coaster" where you design a Roller Coaster and then get to 'virtually' ride it! And a somewhat lame but still fun 'white water raft' ride. Not to mention LOTS of free video games.
We always have a great time. There are a couple of resturants where you can eat & relax. It can get crowded on a rainy day... and after the parks close but ususally the waits aren't too long. Enjoy!

We really enjoy DQ but are not "arcade" lovers. Some of the things we have done (including DD who was 8 last trip):

Cyber Space Mountain (DD and DH's favorite - I can't do it beacuse the simulator/POV roller coasters make me sick to my stomach. DD and DH did a level 5 last time and loved it.

Pirates of the Carribean - I could spend hours playing this.

The jungle cruise - the way the boat "moves"/"inflates" makes it a lot of fun (you really feel like you are moving).

The Buzz Light Year cars/ball shoot - so much fun; I drive DD shoots the cannon - DH has to do it all by himself.

The drawing the annimation cells - the instructor was great - it was well worth the 30 minutes or so for the class.

The magic mirror where you morph the face - DD had a blast doing mine.

I really want to try driving the trucks in the maze and the "pin ball" where you stand on the platforms - both looked like loads of fun but the lines were too long.

DD and DH also played a game of air hockey.

The only thing we didn't like was Allidin's Magic carpets all three of us felt a little sick and the VR helmet was a little heavy for DD (She was 7 on that trip).

Many kids seemed to enjoy the create your own toy but it we seemed to miss the point of that one.

We are planning at least a half day at DQ on our Dec. trip.

The cheesecake make a wonderful snack - the 3 of us split 1 very rich piece.

One of the books has a grate description of DQ (I think itis passporter but I am not 100% certain)

I personally would not spend money on it, but if you are into games, I think you should give it a shot.

Disney Quest is not just for teens and pre-teens.That place is jam packed with awesome things to do there.Read these posts here from these others.I won't take the time to repeat them. DQ is a great place to spend some time out of the hot Fl sun.I would suggest to do everything in there,including the arcade,at least once.By the way;in the arcade,you do not have to put in any tokens or quarters.The games are set up to play at the push of a button.We went to DQ about three years ago when my DD's were younger and we also went there again last year.There is a lot in there for folks of all ages.Your DD's will be quite entertained in there.

How about a two year old(with no stroller) and a 7 yr old? We have 4 unused extra days on 3 hopper plus tickets from last yr.

Thanks for the info everyone. I forgot about the info on DQ in the passporter. I do have one but had to take lots of the info pages out as I had put so much info in the wallets!! I guess I should go and find the folder I put the spare pages in!!
The info on here has been great though. We have ultimate hopper tickets so DQ is included in the price. I will definately have a go on Cyber SM, POTC and Jungle cruise. The Buzz lightyear cars sound fun too.

I like most of the virtual rides that everyone has mentioned. One thing we LOVE and play over and over is the Invasion! Alien encounter. It is NOT scary and definitely worth learning how to play. Once my son learned how to be the commander, we really loved it. By the way, someone mentioned the remote cars on the first floor. That has been closed for over a year and there is arcade/safari game there. I really wish they could have kept the remote adventure. We thought that was great.

If there were any advice I would give it would be this: WEAR EAR PLUGS. It is the noisiest place!

I love DQ and my boys won't miss it when we go to WDW. However, I'm not so sure I'd go there with such young kids. The 7 y .o. would definitely have fun, but there's not much for a 2 y.o. and you'd probably spend all your time chasing him/her or worrying about where he/she is going. The configuration in there is crazy, and I'd hate to have to keep track of a toddler. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I'm wondering about younger kids too. My twins are 4 1/2, a boy and a girl. I'm thinking they would like it, especially the family games. They do like video games (the few times they've played them in an arcade; don't have any at home) and they LOVE air hockey. They love going to Chuckey Cheese, and the games they have there (although I do realize that CC is geared towards their age group.) I'm just not sure. We arrive on a Saturday, and are planning to do an early Cinderella dinner, and I thought this might be fun for after dinner. Does anyone think Saturday night in Nov (the 5th) will be too crowded?

Your twins would definitely have fun at DQ. My concern with a Saturday night would be how crowded it is with teenagers and older. From what I've heard, DQ gets very busy on the weekends, especially with local teens. If I were you, I wouldn't buy the tix ahead of time. Just play it by ear. Stop by DQ that night, and see if you can get a feel for the crowd. See if the line looks long in the lobby or goes out the front door. Maybe the CM at the ticket window could advise you.

I totally agree. It's like a maze inside, lots of levels, halls almost like tunnels... kind of dark... VERY loud... and I can't think of anything a child that young would enjoy. You might consider having one parent take the 7 year old -- who will love it. Or get a sitter for your 2 yr old. They have bonded sitter agencies in Orlando that will come to your room, they bring books and toys etc. Might make an extra special memory for the 7 year old to have mom & dad to himself.

I think the 4 1/2 year olds would have fun... just stay close to them. My son gets so excited he can't stand still. And in the darkishness of DQ it was blink and he was gone!

As far as the crowds... the weekend nights we were there were pretty busy... and it got more and more crowded as it go later and more of the parks closed. But it shouldn't be so crowded you should skip it... it's a really amazingly fun place.

we just got back and took our 2 boys (age 2 and 6...well almost 3 and almost 7)

THEY LOVED IT!!!!!

We started at the top with teh classic games and lunch, the youngest I had to help a lot, but he thought he was playing good (so what if he died almost instantly in it all...he had fun). Then we proceeded down the stairs to each level. I think it was the 3rd floor with all the "arcade" games that was the hardest with the little one (he didn't want to leave each game and keep moving), the area was called something like "underground."

The Pirates and Jungle Cruise were GREAT!!!! We could have done the Pirates for hours.

Oh, we went on Tuesday from 11:30-5, so it was NOT crowded with lots of people, if there had been lots of people, I would NOT have wanted the youngest with me.

This really made me laugh. My kids have no clue either; but when you're spending 50 cents or a dollar a game at a regular arcade, I certainly care. That's what I think will be good about DQ; they can just keep playing!!
