Since we have the pluses my DD and I might go to Disney Quest. What are some things that we shouldn't miss? Anything that tends to get a long line. Also, what's the minimum amount of time that we should allow for DQ?

BTW, she's 18yo, so we don't need to worry about height restrictions. :teeth:

We've never been before, but thought we'd check it out.

Don't know what time of the say we'd be there--probably not when they first open because we'll be at the theme parks then, but we can try and go during the day sometime. I assume DQ is busiest in the evenings after the parks have closed?

Any other hints?

Thanks!

My absolute favorite thing to do there is CyberSpace Mountain - where you design your own rollercoaster and ride it in a simulator.

It is a blast!

I put CyberSpace Mt on our list. Sounds like I should take my ginger capsules before going... :teeth:

Anybody else have things are "must do" at DQ?

My sons and I absolutely LOVED the virtual Pirates of the Caribbean- I can imagine the lines getting really long for it. As far as the Virtual roller coasters, my boys loved it and I chickened out big time after seeing what they created! The Invasion! Extraterrestrial Alien Encounter was also a blast. I am 42 and enjoyed myself immensely at DisneyQuest - along with my kids. What a great way to start your trip.

Absolutely CyberSpaceMountain - it's the best!

The Virtual Jungle Cruise is the only thing that made me completely nauseous. You sit pretty high in the inflatable "boat" and you're just bounced around so much you can barely pay attention to the screen! The only reason we rode it was because the Pirates of the Carribbean line was so incredibly long...

The animation class is pretty cool too, but we just kept going back to CyberSpace Mountain!

I took DD8 last year and we enjoyed DQ. Riding the virtual magic carpets then hitting the virtual Jungle Cruise was a bad idea, though - I was seriously nauseous for hours. Keep in mind that I love rollercoasters adn we went on the Cyberspace Mountain again and again and again with vicious loops and loved it. If Mission Space or any other virtual games have made you ill, watch out for those.

We did enjoy learning how to draw characters - there will be a schedule up at DQ to show you when you can learn which ones. I enjoyed playing all of my old favorite arcade games for free. We had a great day at DQ, really........ The Buzz Lightyear ride lookd fun, but the line was monstrous when we were there.

YIKES!!! I remember the Virtual Magic carpet ride. It did make me nauseous as well - headachy.
We went the first Saturday in December and arrived about 1PM. The crowds were not very heavy - I am sure it could be miserable if it was overly crowded.

Another vote for virtual Pirates of the Caribbean, we liked it so much that we didn't mind waiting in line again. And cyber space mountain was also very fun. But don't be afraid to try different things on it though we played it safe and we would have like it a little faster.

We'll try our Pirates and Space Mt. We'll probably avoid the things that are likely to make us nauseous--not that we tend to feel sick easily, but I don't know that I want to test my limits. I did that on Mission:Space--I tried looking around, closing my eyes, etc and I did fine, but no need to push my luck. :teeth:

What would you all think would be the minimum # of hours to stay at DQ? We don't need to see and do everything, by any means, and if we like it I'll come back another visit with my boys (who am I fooling, I know they would like it).

I can ride loopy roller coasters all day long... and spend a day in an offshore fishing boat... and I will never get sick.

BUT... that flipping magic carpet ride made me so nauseous I took off my helmet within a minute and i was queasy the rest of the day... uggghhh!

Have fun!

:flower:

Note to self: no Magic Carpet ride!

For those of you who get sick on it, how to you do on Mission:Space? How about Jimmy Neutron at Universal? That one gets me a little because the visual and motion are a split second off.

We enjoyed the POTC very much, and the wait was a little while, but they take like 3 - 4 groups at a time. The jungle cruise was alot of fun. Being tossed around was fun for us. It helps if you really try to "steer" and get into it. <screaming and navigating> To us the magic carpet thing was boring and kinda dumb. We didn't get sick, but our DS 9 liked it the most. Also the helmets are heavy. We did almost everything and we were there about 4 -5 hours. There were 5 kids and 2 adults. DH suggests seing Cirque with DD and save DQ to do with your sons. It is geared more towards them. IOHO (in our humble opinion)

My DD didn't really seem to care about Cirque, which surprised me a little, but I wasn't going to twist her arm--we're doing the Segway tour, so that will be her splurge. We have the pluses and will have a hard time using them so DQ is free. I do think that DQ will be something that my boys will enjoy a lot, but they likely won't be at WDW for a while (a year if they are lucky).

Another big fan of CyberSpace Mountain! We went on it three times in a row! LOL. We of course went for the most rolls, tumbles and turns (dont pick any of the green buttons or it'll drop you down in "difficulty" level significantly).

Nobody mentionned the food court! my bf and I absolutely loved our sandwiches ::yes::

And I really liked all the little free arcade games.

We are 22 years old, and we spent 3 hours in there, but we could have easily spent more time.

By the way, a little piece of advice: Don't eat too fast and then ride a cyber space mountain. NOT A GOOD IDEA!!!!!!!!!!! I know, I did it! :faint:

I assume that we could use counter serve credits at the food court. We're vegetarian, so I'll need to check the menu, but knowing us we'll get hungry. :teeth:

To me, Disney Quest is a waste of time. Still, Cyber Space Mountain is good and I've never tried the Pirates thing. I couldn't stand the virtual jungle cruise.

I figure that having the pluses that will expire will be a good time for me to try it. I'm more of a water parks kind of person, but am game to try DQ.

Cyber Space Mtn is a must. During our last trip my 10 year old sister did it 8 times in a row! This girl is fearless. The classic arcade games are also always a must along with the Virtual Pirates game and the Buzz Lightyear ride. I always like that. The Aladdin Magic Carpet VR game is also fun to do.

Another vote for Pirates of the Caribbean. This is really, really fun.

My DH and I like DisneyQuest. Sometimes it is good to take a break from the parks--it recharges us. We like to do some of the arcade stuff, especially air hockey, basketball, skee ball, etc. If I was on a short trip, we'd probably skip it, but we do like to fit it in if there is time.

Re: the food court (Cheesecake Factory), you'll be able to pick from some vegetarian options (not sure about vegan)--I remember pizza, and a couple of salads just off the top of my head.
