11th is great! I see someone at Bidding For Travel got June 10th too. So there may be more at later dates out there than we know of. Congrats!
Thanks.... All we can do is sit & watch what is coming up.. but then if we all just sit & watch, no one will bid & we will never know ;)
To be honest, I don't think I would try for the end of June/July or Aug just yet. There have been times that I have waited until the week before going to bid for a room :sunny:

No problem. I am a day or so behind on the list and with my work schedule next week I may just have to abandon this project LOL!

Good!(that you don't mind, not that you're so busy, LOL) I was afraid I might be stepping on toes - didn't want to make ya feel like I was trying to stage a takeover, LOL!

Bid on priceline 2 1/2*for 5/13, rejected at $33, rebid $35 accepted for Amerisuites, so we have 5/13 $35 Amerisuites from priceline, 5/14 - 5/20 $216 2 bedroom Orbit One vacation villas from Skyauction, 5/21 - 5/23 $33 Nikki Bird from Priceline :rolleyes1

Got Sport for $36 for May 23 & 24th. Can't beat it. Thanks CarolA for the original post. I would not have ever known if not for the Disboards.

OP that said "grads" didn't say grad night. I know what Grad night is, our local schools do it. Some go to Disney & some to Universal (in fact my dd's is tomorrow at Universal), but they do not stay overnight. They take charter buses up & back.. they leave on a Saturday late morning & return somewhere between 4-6am Sunday. I am not sure where in FL you live or if your's stay overnight (most do not). The parks are not open for grad night students until 7am. They would never be able to have the rides & everything ready by 8 or 9am that day for the regular guests. I want to say they use close somewhere in the vacinity of 1-2am (I think the web site may say 4am for this year). Disney has been doing grad nights for years. Most of the local schools do it & return home (no over nighters). Even if there were schools that did it, many norhtern schools do not get out until June. May is typically a slower month for Disney.

Sorry I missunderstood, I was just trying to help.... foot in mouth per norm, lol.
I am just down the road from you ( Port Charlotte ).

When did you bid? It will show up in the Disney computer, but NOT immediately and it can take several days. However, people have added ME to the bid and at least one other poster has posted that Disney could see her reservation.

I still don't know if you can add someone. The poster who posted indicated Disney could not access the reservation for special requests however.

I bid on Thursday. Maybe I'll call back in a few days. I'm just wondering how they give you room keys then if they cannot add names to the ressie.

Oh hi neighbor!!! Do your schools really stay onsite for Grad Night??? You are even closer than me to there.. by 30 minutes or so.. ;) I do not think that Collier stays onsite, I could be wrong on that one though. That county has more money than ours. Seems to be more & more DIS'ers from my side of the state now.. we should have Fl West Coast meet :thumbsup2

I have been debating trying to bid and take a few days (especially with dings to Orlando every couple of days through May) so I created a calendar with plans of updating til I decide since it's easier for me to look at an actual calendar - especially when debating which days are most convenient.

When I finished I thought it might help other so instead of offering to email the file, I just threw it into Frontpage and tossed it online. . . so I hope this helps others!

Hope you don't mind CarolA - I used your list for this (and gave you complete credit on the page)

Priceline Calendar

Thanks for the neato calendar!

You can add anyone to the reservation once you get there, as long as your numbers in the room aren't above what is allowed. We did it this past December with no problem. Even changed one room entirely!

No our kids dont stay onsite, they are at Disney all night.
I was only saying what Grad night was because I was impressed that at 32 I even knew anything about it ;)
YES YES YES, we should do a meet up of the folks in SW FL

Thank you VERY much to CarolA and Carrie for keeping track of all of these winning and losing bids!

I'm keeping a sharp eye on this trend---hoping to snag a night or two in mid-August while we're in Florida!

Thanks again for keeping this thread neat and organized. It really helps all of us obsessive planning types!! ;)

I also called disney to confirm my PL bid (after 3 days). They can't find in their system. Said PL ressies would show up in Disney system about 1 week before arrival date. Makes me nervous, but what can you do? :confused3

I think I just hit new heights of obsessive planning by charting out the dates! LOL!

that looks pretty impressive! I am thinking that had I not bid for the June 8th date on my 2nd part of the bid (June 3-9th), I may have gotten one of the All Stars instead of Amerisuites. There would have been no way of knowing anyway & I did need the 8th ... since I really am staying in Orlando until the 11th. You really just never know why some bids win certian places & others do not...At least I am not complaining about where I got...

I'd love to know the inside scoop on how PL determines which hotel to put you in. I'd imagine that they have essentially a "list" of hotels that will accept your bid, wonder how they determine which one to give you? Is it random? Is it based on best deal? Is it based on whose minimum amount accepted more closely matches your actual bid?

I've read somewhere that Hotwire will only list one hotel for you to choose if multiple hotels have the same description (same category, same ameneties etc) and that they essentially rotate them for the cities that do have a lot of hotels with similar descriptions . . not sure how true it is. . but I'd love to know the inner workings of their "formula"

Does anyone know if magical express is available to you when you receive a room through priceline?

This is actually pretty normal for PL, but based on at least a few posts about adding ME etc, I think they are getting them earlier then a week before.

Based on what I have seen with other hotels, PL notifies the hotel that the room is sold, but it is a while before the transfer of the actual demo data occurs....

I would check back in a week or so.....
