We were thinking of doing a Disney theme in our basement, possibly AKL theme.

Slight overlap. I wonder if we ever crossed paths. Ha! Were you in L.A. or another city nearby? We were in the city of Orange.

What part of SoCal did you live in? I wasn't much of a radio person but my husband was a KROQ fan, especially Kevin and Bean.

K&B were the best, for sure.

Downtown LA and Marina del Rey.

Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach and Long Beach

Plan to stalk it for a bit, but might end up using mousewatchers to try and get Akershus. Have not used it in years either, it still work well for anyone that has used it recently?

I used Mousewatchers for our last trip. It found availability for what I was searching for, a lot. But I was never fast enough to snag it and it disappeared immediately.

My spouse was all about it, even hired a designer and everything lol.

We’re in a very hard place with our house or we would have followed through. We bought in 2021 with a super low interest rate, so we have what is known as “golden handcuffs” lol. The area is ok for families but my job may pull us to a different area in the future regardless. No reason to put money into changing the house around just yet.

I’ve been asked for an ID in addition to proof of DVC to get the merch discount at DHS on 2 separate occasions. Is this a new thing?

I had that a lot on our last trip. Every time I pulled out my AP, they wanted additional ID. I don't usually carry my wallet-- just magic band and phone. They usually let me slide if I showed something in an app that verified (show a bank/credit card statement with my address or something).

Good idea to just keep the picture of your ID though!

That seems excessive but guess people who weren’t supposed to get it were taking advantage of it. Stinks for the people who it impacts.

This always surprises me! What if you only had DVC Y/BY and no AP? There would be no ticket affiliation to confirm in My Disney Experience

I had it happen once with my AP at WDW.

Recently, I got asked for my DVC proof a total of one time at HHI for discounts. I was buying a hot dog that time. Just a hot dog. I feel like they ask for more ID on the most inconsequential of transactions. I was so annoyed I mentioned it in my review. Maybe ask at the gift shop, but a hot dog?! It’s like a 50 cent discount on a very overpriced piece of meat!
