Disney Premier Visa card- anyone upgrading?

So how can you see the gross $ spent in each category?

This is my summary:

2% earn - purchases at Disney locations 41.43
2% earn - purchases at gas stations 1.13
2% earn - purchases at grocery stores 15.26
2% earn - purchases at restaurants 4.38
1% earn - all other purchases 38.52
Bonus reward dollars offers 88.81

I calculate that my bonus reward dollars should be $93.30

Does that look right??

Yes

So it looks like using the formula above I should have gotten $174.25 in bonus rewards.

90.03 Disney locations
4.08 gas stations
8.94 grocery stores
13.12 restaurants

Is this correct? If so I guess I need to call them today.

Can someone explain why you divide by 2? Not very good with math :)

Looks right. Since the amounts showing are 2% you divide by 2 to get 1% and then multiply by 3 to get the extra 3%. Or to be simpler, just total your 2% categories and multiply by 1.5.

I called when I got may first statement and the rep insisted the missing dollars would be all there on my second statement. I can't see my statements on my iPad, so I need to remember to look at my statement later today, especially since we are headed back to the world in a few weeks! If they need time to sort this out I don't want to delay! I've already got more rewards dollars in just two statements than what I had from the previous six months on the old card :cheer2: thanks in part to paying my dvc annual dues and getting 5% instead of 1%!

On my last Visa statement I didn't have any of my extra points either. When I called the agent said that their system had been overwhelmed with the number of people getting the premier card and that all my points would be on my next statement. We'll see.

Maybe with all this issues, I am glad I didn't upgrade. I know I would make up for the fee this year, with the 5% but next year I am not sure I would.

I intend to revert back to the traditional Disney Visa after my 1st year is up! But the 5% for 3 months has definitely been worth it. It was just the incentive I needed to pay off our DVC loan! :thumbsup2

We have had 1 billing since we upgraded and Chase calculated our rewards dollars properly! :goodvibes

I've had similar issues as well, but I plan to wait until the promotional offer is over to see if they catch up. If not, then I'll only have to call once.

I thought about waiting until I read the fine print on my statement. It says you only have 60 days to dispute any errors, so if you wait, they might not correct your first month's rewards.

I hadn't read the fine print so thanks for mentioning. I did call after my first statement did not match and they said the issues was that the bonus rewards were calculated at a different time than the regular rewards so they may differ by a day or so but should catch up. My second month's rewards seemed to have the catch-up but still didn't equal all it should. Just get tired of calling every month and there should be a record of my first call so hopefully they will still work with me.

Does anyone know if purchasing tickets (AP's) through the Disney website counts for the 2% rewards?

I dont see why it wouldn't. It is a Disney purchase from Disney. I know that my Photopass pre-order gave me the extra rewards last month, so I think you should be good to go.

The response I received about the discrepancy in bonus rewards was that the transactions after 3/19 were not included on the statement and would be in the next statement.

That's what I was told after my first month didn't add up but I am still behind two statements later.

I was just wondering if Disney VISA has mentioned any new promotions coming out (my other cards will periodically add 5% for gas or restaurants or movies, etc for a limited time).

The 5% for 3 months is a nice way to get me in (I'll upgrade on 4/30 to cover my late July trip), but if there aren't other special programs throughout the year, I would probably be tempted to go back after my year is up.

If you all hear of any, can you please post?

TIA!:goodvibes

I just received my 2nd statement after upgrading, and it still doesn't seem like my bonus rewards are right. :confused3 I see from this thread that a lot of people are having issues - should I call Chase or is all it supposed to "come out in the wash" after the promotion period ends?

My first statement only seemed like it was short by about $5, so I didn't stress over it, but this statement seems like a little more:

2% gas $12.53
2% grocery $20.78
2% restaurants $17.29 (man, we need to eat out less!)
1% other $6.42
bonus reward dollar offers $67.30

So if the 2% gas/grocery/restaurant was based on $2530, shouldn't the bonus rewards be 3% of that, or $75.90? What am I missing here?

Thanks!

Hi - your bonus should be 85.53

Mine is short this month too..I emailed em, told me I had to wait 6-8 weeks..I don't know why - they are there, just wrong- fix it..lol. I am not a fan of figuring out what I pay another business to do for me.

Thanks! OK, call me slow, but can you explain how you figured $85.53?

:) You aren't slow . disprincessatheart showed me ;) .. add up your 2% totals then times that amount by 1.5.

Hmmm, I'm still getting $75.90, but still less than what I was actually credited.

I guess I'll give them a call and see what they have to say. Every dollar counts since we plan to buy 4 APs pretty soon!

Thanks again :)

I still haven't decided if I'm going to upgrade. Maybe someone here could help me figure it out if its worth it.

We put several bills and just about all purchases on our Disney card every month. Our bill seems to be about $2500 per month.

We have a Capital One no hassle miles card we use about 7 days out of the month to earn airline miles. I was thinking of switching back to using this one soley because my kids are getting older and we are all wanting to see new places. There's only a couple of years left of family vacations:scared1:

But, this new Premium Disney Visa allows you to use the points for airline miles the same way the Capital One works, right???

You purchase the flights with the card and then go in request a reimbursement to your balance???

This could help us earn flights a lot quicker if thats the case!

Any advice??

Sorry, can't help with the airlines since we don't fly anymore but the one big advantage that I see is getting extra cash back for Disney purchases. If you go to Disney a lot (online shopping, resorts, Cruise, DVC membership dues, etc), this alone may make the card worth it.

Also, being able to spend the reward at Disney, where I can use it anywhere, instead of on flights that I may or may not take, need to work around black-out dates, etc offers more flexibility so I'm more likely to use my reward.

Good luck!
