Disney Premier Visa card- anyone upgrading?

your post totally freaked me out! I just got off the phone with Disney Visa to confirm that as long as the fast food restaurant codes themselves as "restaurant" in their system that you do get 2%. I verified that McDonald's is currently earning me 5% for the first 90 days. Thank goodness!!!

Great news! I was hoping Dunkin Donuts which was classified as a restaurant on my YE statement would get the extra rewards!

I've read this entire thread and I'm still confused: if I book a vacation package or room only reservation thru Disney, will it or won't it qualify for the special 5% point promo? Sorry if this has been answered already!

Ok for you people who are upgrading, what about the Visa Signature benefits. I've called twice now and each time the CSR says that they aren't offering the Visa Signature card for the Premier. I told them that the website says otherwise and they replied that it is up to marketing to extend that type of offer.

I replied...so I have a credit limit that would buy a house in some parts of the country, perfect credit, and have paid my balance every month but I can't get a signature card? Well, it's not that you aren't qualified it's that we aren't offering it (at least not as part of the upgrade offer).

What?!

Anybody else had success getting the Visa Signature benefits?

I upgraded and my card says Disney Premier on the upper left corner and Visa Signature on the lower right corner. Wonder if I qualify for extra benefits I didn't know about?

I upgraded as I received the invitation in the mail right when we decided to purchase DVC. I was told that my DVC purchase would count as Disney and the 5%. I hope it does, because that will be some awesome rewards. I can hardly wait until my closing date to see what happens. Plus we have a Disney trip planned in April.

FYI to another question: McDonalds, Sonic and Papa Johns has always shown up under restaruants for me.

It will be considered a Disney purchase and will qualify for 5% back. We have a trip planned for Oct., and even though my balance isn't due until the fall, I plan to pay it off before my 90 period is up to reap in the extra rewards.

Thank you, that right there will push me to upgrade. We have a trip planned for Nov, if I pay it off and get the 5% rewards that is worth the fee and then some!

I got my upgraded cards last week and noticed my rewards history show 2% for gas/restaurants/grocery and then a line item for "Bonus reward dollar offers". I assume that is the 5% bonus for 3 months?

Call the # on the back of your card and they can look up your Panera store to see how it is listed. It literally took two minutes for me to call and find out about McDonalds. Also, if for some reason it is not listed, perhaps you could check your local grocery store and see if they sell Panera gift cards. You get 2% back on grocery store purchases, so that is a way to get 2% back for places that aren't in the special categories. For instance, our Target doesn't have groceries, so I bought a Target gift card at Kroger. I believe this will work, but I will come back and confirm one way or the other once my first premier statement closes in a few days.

Has anyone that has gotten their first Disney Rewards Premier statement done the math? I just can't get my math to work out:

2% gas 3.02
2% grocery 15.93
2% restaurant 4.52
1% all other 5.89
bonus reward 30.80

so, would you assume that the bonus reward is the extra 3%? If add up the 2% rewards, they are 23.47. If I gross that up, it would be a gross of $1,173.50 in spending (1173.50 x 2% = 23.47). NOW....if I take that 1173.50 and calculate my extra 3%, it should be $35.21. not 30.80.

What am I missing here? Besides rewards dollars - LOL!

oh & one more question - when do we get charged the $49 annual fee? I dont see that either!

I have the same calculations on mine, $38.67 bonus but my calculations show $43.89, almost the same difference as yours. Only thing I can think of is if the 5% started sometime after the start of the billing period and the 2% was the entire billing period, maybe I will shoot them a call.

I also didnt get charged the $49 either.

It might be coincidence, but if I add together my 2% & bonus rewards...it comes to 54.27. If I gross that up, it is $1,085.40 in gas, grocery, restaurant spending. I think that looks about right.

Something else I noticed. Look at your last statement. My ending rewards balance on my Jan statement is less than what I start at in February.

I think this month has them all messed up since I upgraded mid-February.

I am not going to stress too much over the inconsistencies. Bottom line is this: End Jan balance to ending Feb balance shows an increase for me of $72.59. My statement balance was $2922.01 ....so with the old card I would have earned $29.22. I did $43.37 better with a mid-month upgrade! Almost paid for the annual fee (that I have not yet been charged for) with 1 statement!

yes, they send the cards separately.....but our 2 cards did arrive on the same day.

Ask about #2 when you activate #1.

This happened to me too. I got my card but not DH's. When I called to activate they said it hadn't been sent so they overnighted it.

I just upgraded tonight. I was told that due to the "popularity of the Premier Card" they are having a hard time keeping the more popular styles in stock and not to be alarmed if I didn't receive my three cards at the same time.
