Disney pins...check or carry?

Are Disney pins allowed to be in a carry on bag or do they have to be checked?

I brought a bunch of them home from Orlando in August in my carry-on and nobody said anything to me about it. I'm not sure if there's an official policy in writing that says they're allowed, but I'm pretty sure there's nothing that says in writing that they're not.

You will be fine with them - I travelled in 2009 with a bag full of buttons on a trip to a few cities in the US and Canada where I gave them out to other fans of the band who I was going to see, and it was no problem.

However, I would put them in a separate plastic bag and just lay them in the bucket next to your bag - otherwise they show up as a mass of metal on the x-ray. They took them out on my first stop and the security lady gave me the tip to do that afterward and had no problems presenting them separately in a ziplock bag.

They are definitely not a prohibited item.

Yep pins are good for a carry on

Never ever put your pins into your checked bags. They would be the perfect item for someone to take and re-sell on line. I always take mine in my carry on and have never had any trouble over them.

You should be fine to have them in your carry-on luggage. When we left Disney we went straight from Animal Kingdom to the hotel to pick up the car and then to the airport. I had forgotten I was wearing my "Disney Conservation" pin on my shirt (the one you get when you donate a certain amount...though it isn't a trading pin, it's a pin nonetheless).

All the guy said at security was to take it off and put it through the "scanner" thing then I could put it back on for the flight.
