I'm going to disagree with you to an extent. My personal philosophy is that there are a LOT of people who are better photographers than I am. If I want a picture of Spaceship Earth or Cinderella's Castle, there are those of you who know your camera settings and vantage points and best times of day for taking a picture a lot better than I do. Your pictures will be better than mine. I can still try for that awesome shot, but what makes most of my pictures special and different from what I could simply buy in a postcard store is the inclusion of the people that I love. Or, you know, a bunch of strangers. ("Is this you?"

One of my favorites from last month, DD as the "Dreams Come True" started right after we got to MK for the first day of our trip:
Certainly not the best composition. Would have changed the ... whatchamacallit... to blur the background a little more if I knew how and had time. But I would have missed the moment.
