Disney Phone App

I've had the Disney phone app since the start of Fast Passes. For this trip, I seem to be having problems using it. For example, it won't let me put in the names of my group for getting FPs. Is it possible that the app is outdated? Do I have to re-install it? Is that difficult to do?
