Ok, I've been on here looking up all the things I need to bring and I was just thinking that there is no way I'll remember it all when it is time to actually go. Thought I'd start a thread for all those odds and ends such as stroller fans and PNP sheets that parents might need to bring. I'll keep a running list on this post to keep track of everything!

1. Pack and Play sheets
2. Stroller Fans
3. Bulb Syringe
4. baby bath/soap
5. diaper cream
6. night-time books
7. swim diapers

12. nightlight (if needed)
13. wipes
14. hand sanitizer
15. swimsuit(s)
16. DVDs (for plane or in room?)
17. DVD player
18. smallish toys for something to do in room in down time
19. extra batteries for stroller fan and/or toys
20. snacks
21. I have my sling (peanut shell)
22. Travel crib if baby wont sleep in PNP
23. car seat and stroller that close up to keep strangers from touching infant son.
24. diapers and bottle system and formula.
25. Disposable spoons and forks (take a few regular ones just in case baby won't use disposable.)
26. Dish soap to wash bottles and other things

32. shorts
33. tops
34. socks
35. shoes
36. Bug Netting for stroller
37. Outlet plugs
38. Rain Cover for Stroller
39. Puffs for snacking
40. Table toppers

a bulb syringe.
Our 12 month old picked up a cold halfway through our trip last month and we were able to get pediacare from the resort store, but could not get a bulb syringe to suck the mucus out of her nose... without being able to clear her nose, she could not breastfeed... it was really bad...

We had put alot of effort into keeping her from picking up too many germs while at the parks, and it still wasn't enough.... she got really sick... she actually threw up on the last day while we were packign for checkout. I called to plead with the front desk at SSR for a late check-out... the response was "We're DVC resort. We don't do late check-out"... well, I'm off on a tangent....

On the same vein as the PP, some baby motrin or tylenol (plus gas drops, and any other baby meds that might be used on that very occasional basis). DS who is now 2.5 y/o just got a horrible cold at WDW and we were very relieved to have our motrin on hand.

Other things on the top of my head:

baby bath/soap
diaper cream
night-time books
swim diapers
sun hats
baby sunscreen
sippy cups/bottles
bibs
nightlight (if needed)
wipes
hand sanitizer
swimsuit(s)
DVDs (for plane or in room?)
DVD player
smallish toys for something to do in room in down time
extra batteries for stroller fan
snacks

I have run out of ideas off of the top of my head...good luck!!!

We are adopting a son :cloud9: in a week and have had a disney trip planned with family for the last week in Oct. for a year now. (DVC using our points) I am all ears as to what I need to travel with.:surfweb:

I have my sling (peanut shell)
Travel crib
car seat and stroller that close up to keep strangers from touching infant son.
diapers and bottle system and formula.

I will be taking notes so please,,,keep the information flowing!

Have any of you used the bug netting on your stollers? How about the rain guards?

Thanks!

Swim diapers
Disposable bibs
Disposable sippy cups
Disposable spoons and forks
Dish soap
Ziploc bags

I'm not normally into disposables, but on our WDW, it was so nice. I still washed and reused the sippy cups, but if we were at the parks and milk had been in the cup, I just threw it into the trash instead of letting leak into the backpack/diaper bag. The spoons and forks can be washed and reused, too, if you just stick them in ziploc.

And gallon sized ziplocs are great for packing those tiny baby things. Tiny socks can get lost in a big suitcase. I put each outfit in a ziploc, so I could grab and go. It was also handy to have the outfit in a ziploc in the diaper bag. (Thanks to the Disboards for that tip!)

disposable stuff is great...I second that!

Regarding bug netting for stroller, I bought a stroller that had netting built in and I noticed it the other day and had forgotten I even had it. I just NEVER use it. There are really no bugs to speak of at Disney, at least the times we have gone. They must do something heavy-duty about mosquitos. There are love-bugs but they don't bite and they are only out in September I guess.

Also:

thermometer
pj's
a light jacket (during colder months)
baby sunglasses (if your child is sensistive to bright light)
shorts
tops
socks
shoes
diapers

I did use the bug netting on my jogger during the summer here if we went for walks at night, and have only used my rain guard a couple of times when I got caught in downtown Chicago during rainstorms.

But never needed those at Disney...although the rain guard could definitely come in handy!

Just got back with our almost 11-month old. She wouldn't eat from the disposable spoons and I wished I had just bought regular ones from home since so much else is changed when you're gone...

We stayed DVC on points and there was a pack-n-play and high chair there for us.

We have a kiddopatomus (sp?) sun shade with bug netting and it was invaluable. You can snap the sun shades shut in front when the baby is sleeping, open them to let air in, etc. It folds into its own pack. It kept the stroller and baby cool, kept the stroller seat from getting hot while in line, and (even though I don't remember it being marketed as such) it's waterproof! It poured while we were inside having dinner, and the entire stroller interior stayed dry!

Puffs. I don't know about others, but DD could eat those all day. She prefers meijer brand to gerber (and so do I-they smell like real food)

Sunscreen stick--so much easier to put on baby's face.

I didnt see a rain cover for the stroller. We used that one almost every trip at least once.

Also Table Toppers are fantastic at WDW. They are presterlized, disposable stickey matts. So you can stick one down to the table, give baby finger foods, peel it back and toss it out.

Where do you find sunglasses for a child under 1? We are going on a cruise in May and our son will be 7mos old. I am worried about how bright it will be up by the pool. Any thoughts?

What would you take/pack for a cruise with a child under 1?

Thanks!

Julbo makes them! :cool1: They come in Infant, Toddler & Child sizes. You can also get the straps to attach to them so they don't fall off. Our boys each have a pair - they are awesome they both (6 months & 2 years) will leave them on for hours. We got them for use on our March trip. Our 2 year old also has some Ray Bans you can get them from most optical places, but they slide off when he looks down.

To add to the list, if you are traveling with a very young baby, our DS2 was 3 weeks on our October 07 trip bring diapers!!! The smallest they had anywhere if we were short in the parks was a Medium which is I don't know what size but it's big. S ince the rest of the world runs in numbers i think a medium covered somehting like 16+lbs.

I also bring lots of the bigger receiving weight blankets that come from Target they work out well to cover things and aren't so thick they bake the baby in the stroller and are good for mopping up messes.

I saw sunhats on there but I wanted to add it's nice to have one's that have straps so they don't slide off theirs heads constantly. Hanna Andersson makes our favorites.

A bottle scrubber, sponges just don't do the trick! If you are squeamish you may want to bring a bathtub liner and disposable changing pads.

If your baby uses them.....PACIFIRES. If we left wihtout them it would be a BAD plane ride.

Also if you are BFing(my DS is 6mo and I am still BFing) disposeable breast pads.

We are taking some disposeable bibs. However I saw at Walmart that they make some plastic ones so you could wipe them and reuse it, either way.

Jackie

baby brush/comb
diaper disposal bags
baby toothbrush
hooded towel
baby shampoo
vitamins
safe plastic rings/chain to attach toys to stroller
if renting a stroller, something to identify it from the masses (e.g. bandana).
birth certificate etc. if international traveller

A few others:

Baby monitor/motion detector and receiver
lifejacket

What can I say, I have a thing about ,making lists and checking them twice! LOL!

FWIW, we were told not to use a bulb syringe - very bad for baby - but to use infant hydrasense (saline nasal spray).

You can also grab a few extra disposable bibs if you happen to be in a McDonalds (great "emergency bibs" for the diaper bag)

:santa:
