Disney news

Thanks for posting that. I had tried to do it yesterday but it didn't work for some reason.

I'm going to Disneyland in 2 weeks. I had been wondering how "rough" the Indian Jones ride is. I hadn't heard anything (until this article) outside of Birnbaum's Guide. So, how "bad" is it?

Have you ever been on Countdown to Extinction/Dinosaur at Animal Kingdom in WDW? If so, it's the same ride system.

If not, then it's a fairly rough ride -- it simulates a fairly high-speed ride through a temple in a 4x4 vehicle. You do get bumped around left to right and front to back a bit, but IMHO it's not much worse than Star Tours. If you keep your back loose so you move with the bumps instead of stiff then it's much easier to ride :)

In my opinion the Indiana Jones ride just plain hurts. I have ridden it a few times and each time it was actually painful not only during the ride, but also for a little while after. I would not be surprised if people got hurt (or worse) on it. Please don't think I am bashing the ride. I am only warning those that might think twice about it.

I have done Countdown to Extinction. We had tried to talk DS (7) into doing it, and he refused...AND he would have hated it. I was surprised how jerked around you really get.

I just can't imagine though that a ride like that would cause a brain hemorrhage. I'm thinking something more like a heavy duty roller coaster.

Indy is VERY similar to the Dinasaur ride at AK. Both do throw you around in very sharp, tight, hair pin turns. I'm not suppose to ride thise rides-- cough, cough. (Neck problems) But even I did not have any problems. I rode Indy twice.

I have neck/back problems but do okay on Indy ride.
It is 1000 times better than the "dinosaur" ride at AK, imho. It has way more theme and stuff to see....more fun....it is a great ride. NOTHING like a roller coaster.
I am a ride chicken and don't do any roller coasters...but I can handle Indy....just thrilling enough for me.
