I though today’s episode was a good bridge to the end of this season. I was skeptical of bringing Mayfield back but that worked well. I excited for next week now based on the ending with the transmission to Moff.

I haven’t watched Mando yet, and have deleted my Twitter until I have. But I’m not seeing pages of spoiler tags here. That worries me that the episode was bad...

I didn’t notice many if any spoilers today. Seems people were better this week. This episode isn’t bad but not a huge WOAH type episode either. I enjoyed it.

I kind of figured it would just be a set up for the finale. More than a filler, less than an event episode.

Yeah, it was a great epsiode actually, there is just a little less to talk about. It's gearing up for a heck of a season finale though!

There are some things I’m glad weren’t spoiled for me. But there is generally less to talk about. Last week’s was just among the most eventful in the series.

I’d be interested to know how many people watched the stream last night. There was such a far reaching audience that I personally saw. People that have hated Disney for years because it’s too “kiddie” were live reacting.

Good episode, better than episode 10, but complete filler. got vibes from other movie franchises,
. . only a few things to really 'talk' about in this one, just entertaining enough, not bad.. a few cool moments.
I dont' check twitter or youtube on Friday mornings. Usually we have time to watch either before kids go to school, or right after, so I don't have to wait too long. But I subscribe to too many SW sites, to take any chances.

I’ll give some thoughts (a little scattered). Overall, there’s not much to nitpick, so it was a great episode in that sense.

Was this the first episode The Child was not in at all? (I’m out of date on the first season)

Enjoyed Mayfield’s redemption. His character showed more heart and seemed more calm and collected.

Also enjoyed the Cara/Fennec team up. The sniping was taking me back to my Halo days. Got excited when troopers kept falling one by one. They get it done, no mistakes.

Liked the twist on the opening theme song. Agree that the empire ship (sorry, don’t know the name. Someone said Slave...?) sound was cool.

Boba Fett’s ship spinning in the background during take off was trippy. Started to wonder if it was going to stop.
(The incoming ships later didn’t faze him. Just drop a bomb out the back. All good)

Oh yeah, Empire to the rescue! Liked the introspection for bit.

Mando’s threat at the end was intimidating. He’s coming for ya.

Edit: TPS reports

I'll keep this in spoilers, though it isn't really one. Boba Fett's ship is known as the "Slave I" and is the same ship owned by his father Jango Fett. It is a "Firespray Class Patrol Ship" used for police action and prisoner transport, which is why it is perfect for someone in Boba's line of work.

I really liked the livestream last night, but I feel it was just a bit too long. I would actually rather have a few of them a year for an hour or so. Especially with it falling on the first night of Hanukkah, was hard to watch while also prepping dinner.

Watched Safety. It was enjoyable, bit how I expected it to go since it's a Disney movie.

Also watched the prom on netflix. Hilarious. Bit slow in the middle and the end wasn't as good as the first half but I'll watch it again. Been awhile since I've watched a new movie and wanted to see it again after finishing it. Do need to enjoy musicals and be ok with the plot.

It's not bad. Not near as good as last week. Mostly simply a setup for the finale and not much more.

Thoughts keep rolling into my head about the stream.

No Mulan 2 announcement. It was “confirmed about a week before the original release date in March. Could have been canned due to the financial failure and the so-so reviews.

No update on the 73 Avatar sequels.

And the one that kind of hurts the most, no detailed Disney parks docs like Imagineering story, one day at Disney etc. I think that type of programming sets Disney+ apart from every other streaming service.

I think it's very possible that "The Mandalorian" may evolve into a different type of show, possibly with a new title, or it will just accede to the other shows but Din may be a player in those. It's all connected to it doesn't matter. I really like the idea of Mando, Ahsoka, and Rangers all building to one story together.

yeah I think Mando will be around for a while, but will become 1/3rd of this "mando disney+ universe" (the MDU?) and will shift gears to something new after this story arc and conenct to Ahsoka and Rangers and that will culminate in a movie or something

Avatar is still moving. Jon Landau gives updates on Instagram all the time.

As for parks content I think that’s more niche and something that’s not going to get investors excited. Remember this conference was geared towards them.

They’re probably going to have to wait a while now because what else could they really announce that would justify another presentation between now and D23. And if they start announcing early plans for shows/movies 2025 and beyond that are unlikely to come to fruition. Maybe we’re going to see a rollback on the movie/show component at D23? But that would seem counterintuitive. But I could see an MCU “con” happening. Maybe in person, maybe like DC Fandome, but I think it’s only a matter of time before a Marvel convention happens

One thing I am finding is that these "bridge" episodes seem to focus on Mano's evolution - obviously saw a lot in this one with him realizing the mission and the core of his beliefs are more important than the practice. Sort of the whole "the spirit of the law is more important than the letter of the law"

That was definitely a good juxtaposition and the whole thing that who the good guys and bad guys are depends on your point of view and current position. I mean, those pirates trying to blow them up - were they good or bad?

I liked the TPS line too! :)

Some thoughts on the latest Mando episode:

I'm starting to wonder if we'll see any deaths this season. Cara is slated for another series, and unless I'm much mistaken I suspect Bill Burr might show up in that one.

Fett won't be killed at this point.

I don't think Greef would be killed.

Pretty much leaves Fennec?

It's nice seeing Mando's transition and character growth. I think he's starting to pull away from the Mandalorians as his family. He just broke the seal on not showing his face to anyone else. I know he was grateful to be saved as a young kid and given a purpose, but I can't imagine there was much love growing up in a sect of permanently helmeted warriors. He's finally finding a different type of family, with Grogu at the center.

Also, I'm starting to think next season might be the last for Mando. The story will be repetitive if they just keep running from Moff Gideon. It also seems like Filoni and maybe Favreau have some more shows to run.

One possibility is that Fett dies and Mando "inherits" the Slave I ... he does need a new ship after all

Speaking of which, I loved seeing more of the inside of it and how it like "rotates" when the ship takes off

I think we may see something like the marvel netflix series did. Have each show be kinda separate and then come together in some mini-series. Maybe something around Thrawn who I bet we see at the end of the finale next season. Defeat Gideon and then here is his boss.
