One possibility is that Fett dies and Mando "inherits" the Slave I ... he does need a new ship after all

Speaking of which, I loved seeing more of the inside of it and how it like "rotates" when the ship takes off
I can only imagine how mad people would be if they resurrect Boba only to kill him off right away again.

I don't think they will kill Fett but maybe have him retire or something and give mando the ship and be around if and when needed.

Avatar is still moving. Jon Landau gives updates on Instagram all the time.

As for parks content I think that’s more niche and something that’s not going to get investors excited. Remember this conference was geared towards them.

I know Avatar is still happening, just a weird omission. That’s a huge property for them now. They talked about other fox property with Ice Age Cheaper than a dozen, etc.

I think the parks content, especially Imagineering Story caught a wide audience because of the lack of content last winter. I think there’s more of a fanbase to intrigue investors with Disney company content than some of the stuff that was revealed.

Bill Burr was much better this time around. Kind of hoped he’d join team Mando at the end. What a turnaround since his last episode for me personally.

The sound mixing is just incredible in this series. I can’t gush about it enough. They could easily copy and paste the score every episode, but they use the score to match the tone of each episode. Ludwig is really starting to climb the ranks of all time composers me.

Cara and Fennic were awesome together. Loved their scenes. Would really love to see more of them teaming up

Maybe it’s just me, but I loved the scene when the tie fighters come and “save the day” and then the troopers celebrating. Rick Famuyiwa made me really feel like the empire were the good guys in that moment.

The final little warning spiel from Brown Eyes seemed really “cringe” to me. “He means more to me than you’ll ever know” just seemed weird. A friend said Gideon said that in the first season? I don’t remember him saying that, but if he did, it’s not as bad.

Also, could have just been me, but I was so focused on the episode that until they showed Gideon’s ship, I didn’t even notice Grogu wasn’t in the episode.

Funny thing is, I really loved this episode and yet it’s the 2nd “worst” of the season for me. That’s how incredible this season has been.

1. Chapter 13 - The Jedi
2. Chapter 11 - The Heiress
3. Chapter 14 - The Tragedy
4. Chapter 9 - The Marshal
5. Chapter 12 - The Siege
6. Chapter 15 - The Believer
7. Chapter 10 - The Passenger

Exactly what I’m thinking. Mando trades the Beskar spear for Slave I. And Boba stays on Tattoine. Mando has absolutely no need for the spear, he’s a gunslinger.

I re-watched the episode again, couple times, as kids got to see after school. Liked it better. Always pick up more on second viewing. more at ease. I loved seeing the inside of Slave 1 . That was the best. loved Boba's line " they'll recognize my face," uh yeah they will. that was funny. I sure hope Din doesn't get Slave 1. That's Fett's ship, as it was his father's before him. Love that sonic blast again. The kids recognized it from Star Tours also, and AOTC. Din will need a ship though. Maybe he can get one if Bo Kataan and the others join him.

My buddy just brought up a sad, but almost certainly true point about the upcoming slate of Star Wars shows, especially the Mando spin offs.

Mando is universally loved right now because it’s a stand alone entity. Once Ahsoka and Rangers start, fans will latch on to their favorite and bash the other two for not holding up their own weight, even if that’s not true. There’s going to be a toxic shift coming. Peace in the Star Wars fandom was never meant to last. Let’s enjoy it while we have it

Very true. Only way Disney can hope to fight that is not have any overlapping seasons (release date wise). If you’ve got Mando coming out on Friday and Ashoka on Monday, there will be massive fan-fighting over which is better. Now, if Mando wraps up a season and then Ashoka starts, there will still be the arguing, but it should help lessen it.

At least the abundance of riches should give people the ability to find shows that fit their interests more. For me, Obi-Wan is the one I’m most excited for. Rogue Squadron movie should also be good, as I’m hearing rumors it will be set after the new trilogy, so they better have Denis Lawson be in it!

Thoughts keep rolling into my head about the stream.

No Mulan 2 announcement. It was “confirmed about a week before the original release date in March. Could have been canned due to the financial failure and the so-so reviews.

No update on the 73 Avatar sequels.

And the one that kind of hurts the most, no detailed Disney parks docs like Imagineering story, one day at Disney etc. I think that type of programming sets Disney+ apart from every other streaming service.
Hard to imagine Mulan 2 moving forward, with as badly as that blew up in Disney’s face in China. Whose the audience for it?

I think it’s a tall task to expect this, of all fandoms to love everything equally and appreciate the storytelling. Star Wars fans were claiming Solo was a terrible movie the moment Alden was cast. Not when they saw the movie. Not even when they saw a trailer. When Fords replacement was cast. Even some as far back as when the movie was even announced. I personally loved the movie.

For me, Obi-Wan is very high on my list. But The Acolyte has me VERY intrigued. And Andor basically being Space Mission Impossible. I think those 2 are the ones I’m looking forward to. Obviously Rogue Squadrons is the movie I’m most looking forward to since we know nothing about Taika’s, but since I’ve loved everything Taika has done in his career, I’m comfortable trusting him

Me. And maybe the 5 other people that loved Mulan (Live Action). Very bad investment to carry through with a sequel.

And I keep forgetting about the Lando series. I would watch literally anything Donald Glover is in, and he was amazing as Lando. That one should be awesome. Now if they can find a way to cast Danny Pudi as one of his associates...

I don’t imagine the investors preview will be the forum for this moving forward. I think they had 2 very specific problems that doing this now solved:
1) Disney+ is 1 year old and not only are the launch subscriptions rolling off, but the free Verizon ones are too. Meanwhile, Disney has been hard pressed to actually make any of the original content they wanted to have rolling out by now. So not very enticing to renew, right? What if I told you about EVERYTHING we’re coming out with, all at once, right when you have to decide?

2) Disney is beginning to be valued like a growth/tech company rather than a blue chip. Chapek obviously thought (or was convinced) that making a big show of how they’re beginning to think of themselves like a tech company too would pop the stock.

Looking at the market today, hard to argue with that. But he won’t get a huge pop next time - now this is the expectation. I would expect instead more traditional forums, even if they stick with the ‘huge drop of everything at once’ thing they’ve now done twice.

Me too. Everything they announced yesterday has me hyped. And not just because the entire presentation had so much buzz. I genuinely felt like they’re crafting a universe for everyone with the vast array of genres throughout these shows.

Lol I’d love that, but I doubt he’s a series regular. I’d bet he has a cameo though

I hope the Cassian series will be dark. I mean in Rogue One he just shot that other guy dead, pointblank, to prevent him from possibly blabbing to the troopers at the beginning. You know he's got a dark past. Looking forward to that. Rebels did a good job of showing just how dreadful the Empire could be to innocent people and how destructive to their worlds.
Ahsoka, well, one of our favorites, SO looking forward to that series, and it could bring in some other favorite characters.....although given her voice in Rise/Skywalker.....
Lando. Yes! He could give us all kinds of adventures.

What about spreading the presentations out? Maybe not so much as an Investors Day Event next time, I’m not sure what they usually do for Investors Day. But having maybe Pixar/Walt Disney Animation having its own content forum, Star Wars have its own (or keep that to Star Wars Celebration). Fox/Hulu have its own. And I think the most obvious to start up is a Marvel Con, whether it’s digital or in person. But they could always just wrap it all together into one thing and call it something like D23 lol.

It makes sense that this was done for the reasons you explained. They have/had a lack of content that drew a wide audience in a full year of operation and risked losing subscribers or had a slower increase than investors would like to have seen. Dropping 40+ pieces of content that will drop on the streaming service in the next 3 years in front of a huge audience of people watching at home almost guarantees a subscriber bump, especially when the new content starts pouring onto the service.

That was basically word for word the speech that Gideon to Mando in season 1. So it was his way of turning things around and showing his position of strength and using Gideon's words against himself

One thing I thought was true but was confirmed today by Mayfield is the total destruction of Mandalore. I mean, we get serious hints that it's messed up but I don't think anyone confirmed that it is totally destroyed like Alderaan. How do we suppose the Empire pulled that off?
