The Filoniverse

people gonna be pisssssed if Cara Dune gets a spin off. I doubt that one happens. If she’s sticking around, it’s probably going to just be on Mando

Not me, Cara Dune is my favorite. I am not concerned about what the actress says on Twitter. Not sure why people are so up in arms about it either. Lot worse in Hollywood than Republicans.

I'm up for all of these, but I figured the live action Ahoska and Thrawn/Ezra would be the same thing.

They could even do a time jump format, show Ezra and Thrawn in the past and then when Ahsoka finds them the storylines converge.

I guess it's okay if some of them are just one-and-done. Like Obi Wan is not supposed to be multiple seasons - just one story. I might prefer they do it as a movie, but direct to D+.

I think TV does need to not be afraid of limited series or a mini series type thing. One of my favorite shows of all time was Tenth Kingdom and that was a little mini series.

I could see the same with Boba Fett. Just maybe 4-8 episodes and down. We already have a bounty hunter show. Though to be fair, Mando does not hunt a lot of bounties anymore.

I really don't think they should do too many shows. I'd really like some more animation too. High Republic as animation would be nice!

That was my first thought - do we really need the Ezra/Thrawn series AND the Rebels sequel? Why not just make that one series and cover all aspects?

And do we need a separate Bo Katan/Cara Dune series? Why not just do that as a 3-episode miniarch for season 4 of Mando or something like that. Guess if it is aone time thing and sort of done as Mando season 3.5 or something, that is fine

Well it is a movie, just broken up into 6-8 30-50 minute episodes. It’s easier to meld together a well written story through segments rather than one long film. Deborah Chow is the sole show runner of Obi-wan so it’s unlikely going to be week to week missions like Mando

The more I think about it, I feel like those options could be cut in half.

Wouldn't the Ahsoka and Ezra/Thrawn and Rebels sequels all be the same thing?

I don't think Filoni ends Rebels the way he did unless he meant to somehow in someway re-visit that in the future.

Just watched the live action Mulan. Overall I enjoyed it. It threw me for a bit that seemed to be trying to be more realistic but then periodically it would go all Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon - but didn't go all the way.

By the end I was pretty bought in. I think it was like 3/4 of the way to a really good movie if that makes sense. Worth a watch for sure but also glad I didn't pay an extra $30 for it

One thing I really liked was how it showed other parts of China - desserts with camels, snow peaked mountains, etc - than are typically depicted

Finally saw it the other night myself. I feel pretty similar. It's hard to put my finger on what exactly held it back from being great. Perhaps it was too serious but then not when it should have been more? Doesn't make sense to me either, lol

Yeah, definitely not worth $30 so I feel confident in our decision there.

I would still love to know how many people did spring for it. But as stated, not being told is telling...

I just caught up on the most recent episodes of The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse - they really are fantastic! They just revel in Disney history and give nothing but love for everything. It is delightful!

I can't decide if I like them or not

Same here. I love the nods to old Disney stuff and some of the writing is pretty good but I still can't stand the art style and really not a fan of how Mickey acts in some of them

He's very much like original Mickey though - a bit of a rascal. I mean, in Steamboat Willie he's a lunatic! I think it fits the character personally.

Style and antics remind me of a toned-downed Ren and Stimpy.

My kids are young and they take things literally. I had to turn the flea episode off because they could feel the impending doom with the marching army growing and Mickey’s over reaction. lol. 😌

The ending of Rebels most definitely opened it up for more. I loved Rebels, but not sure if I'd want more. Then again, I was the one saying I didn't want/need that final season of Clone Wars. I thought that series didn't need anything else....ha, boy was I wrong. I do think they could do a combo of Ahsoka/Ezra...maybe. I like when a series has an end in sight from the beginning. So you know things are not dragged out too much, so a good miniseries/limited series would be good for those characters.

I don't see that at all - I don't see him as a rascal, I see him as annoying and overbearing. I mean, we just watched the one where his pet fish goes to school and he acts like an overprotective annoying parent and makes weird faces and I don't know ... just doesn't fit

He was a rascal in the past but I also feel like what makes Mickey Mickey is his optimism and view that things will work out - I don't see that at all in many of these shorts

I am not a huge fan of the style of animation. But I really like the Home of the Tomorrow episode. So many in jokes. I was rather grinning at they end

I think that things in these new shorts do work out - look at the roller disco one where he saves the day. He does that a lot. That also didn't always happen for him back in the old shorts. Again, look at Steamboat Willie - he gets punished for his shenanigans and isn't particularly happy at the end of it.

‘this video pretty much encapsulates why I think it should be Luke. I don’t see it as them forcing Luke into yet another Star Wars story just to make it about the Skywalkers as much as them putting themselves in this predicament due to the timeline of the story and the plot centering around Grogu being led back to the Jedi. If it’s not Luke, if he ghosts on the call from Grogu it negates the path he’s on in the storyline. If the timeline was after his training with Ben, then yeah, it would be understandable why he’d say no. But at this point in the timeline, Luke is actively looking for Jedi to train

Depending on how it’s all handled, not being Luke might seem odd. There are a few others that could also make plenty of sense though. I’m also not a huge fan of how increasingly ineffective Order 66 is continuously becoming, with more and more Jedi surviving. I really hope whoever it is, it’s not another Jedi surviving.
