Depending on how it’s all handled, not being Luke might seem odd. There are a few others that could also make plenty of sense though. I’m also not a huge fan of how increasingly ineffective Order 66 is continuously becoming, with more and more Jedi surviving. I really hope whoever it is, it’s not another Jedi surviving.

I think unless they specifically mention that Luke sent whoever it is that it winds up being, it’s going to be weird. If you’re actively looking for Jedi, when it’s known there aren’t many Jedi left, and it’s not just someone force sensitive, but also a force sensitive being that is the same as your mentor, a being that as far as we know is even more rare than finding Jedi, and you say “No thanks, someone else will answer the call” then it’s a canon disaster. There are 3 reasons I would find it to be OK if it’s not Luke

1) Luke is training Cal and has him go check out the situation for him
2) Luke senses Grogu is veering too far towards the dark side
3) No one answers the call because they sense the attachment Ahsoka sensed between Grogu and Mando

I generally agree, I just have enough faith in Favreau and Filoni to figure a proper path out. They’ve been pretty great at crafting the show, and others, around the existing canon. I don’t know much about the workings of the call itself though. If it’s just reaching out to force sensitives, there’s no reason it has to be a Jedi that answers at all. They seem to be tying into Palpatine so it could just all have been a trap he set up.

Although for all we know it could just wind up as yet another “now you have to travel to this place” plot turn.

Yeah, the Palpatine thing is what has me. I think that plus those clone bodies we saw on Navarro really are pointing to a baddie connection. Nothing says it has to be a Jedi, why not make it Palpatine? You need his voice, not even his body.

Dave seems to do a really good job of cleaning up the messes with trilogies, what with Clone Wars and now this. I wonder how he'd do on his own? I'd like a Thrawn trilogy or something with the Chiss)

Honestly, those ideas never crossed my mind, and now I’m 100% on board with it. If it doesn’t come true, I’m blaming you guys

They don’t even really need his voice. Just a name drop like they did with Thrawn would be sufficient at this point. But a voice and robe make him an easy character to toss in wherever. A sith acolyte that acts like a Jedi to get close with Din and Boba would also make sense and allow for a nice twist, or even Gideon’s superior. Maybe it all connects back to Darth Jar Jar...

It seems like most are expecting Luke, because he’s the most obvious if they go the cleanest route.

Maybe even Palpatine’s “son” will be the one to show up. Rey isn’t born for a few more years after Mando so this could be the thing that leads to the split between Sidious and his “son”.

His son is the rumored choice to be the “Volunteer” that was mentioned in Chapter 12

Since they already had Ashoka I'm still of the option they are going to bring in Ezra setting up one of the spin-off series.

The ridiculous release time makes this a much bigger issue than it needs to be.

9pm EST release on either Thursday or Friday is optimal for every US time zone (except maybe Hawaii). And that’s not just for Mandalorian or Disney+, that should be the standard across the board for streaming, especially stuff that’s released weekly. I can’t/won’t stay up until 3am to start a show. By 4am EST, you can’t log on to Twitter without at least 50 tweets and retweets spoiling the episode from west coasters. Muting is useless unless you just happen to pick random words like ‘Grogu’ to mute.

The release time is perfect for me in Europe :) I don't see any spoilers online as I'm working all day. I'm loving my Friday evening routine of watching new episodes after work

Star Trek Discovery tried that in season 1. It was a disasster. With so many peple hitting the service at one time for one show the performance was horrible. One of the reaasons for the midnight releases is that is spreads the load out. Yes some people will be there right at midnight pacific. Then another group will watch in the morning before work (this is me) and others in the evening.

Star Trek went to midnight release in season 2.
