I will keep paying for my Touring Plans subscription for actual wait times and touring optimization. I can imagine that the Genie app will have inflated times (to encourage Genie + purchase) and suggestions be more about dispersing crowds, where the Touring Plans Lines app will actually will tell me the best plan of action based on actual data instead of, how should I say, manipulated data.
I will continue with mine too. I will probably do both TP and Maxpass (yes, that's what I'm calling it) on our next trip and compare the two. I actually really like their menu search capability.

I feel like the people who struggle and have been unable to get BGs are the ones who will end up throwing money at the problem so to speak. There’s no way I’d spend money to ride Rise when I’ve had zero issues getting a BG for it. Especially when you’re limited to 2 premium rides per day.

This is actually less painful than I thought it would be though. I just hope “fall” is sooner than 10/1 because that would be total chaos.
Fully agree! Rise is already a VQ so there's no worries about waiting on an FoP type line and most people who plan well haven't had issues getting on the ride.

I can see the potential in this system for different types of visitors.

I
I have to admit it. We ate at PR on our last trip’s DHS day. It was hot, stupid hot, and stupid crowded at the parks all week, and mobile order was chaos in most of the DHS options. But we could get into PR at short notice. And it was okay. As in it didn’t suck. DH wants to go back next trip. Best part for me was that it was less crowded and well-air-conditioned. And there was free ice water in large coolers. Really, it was one of the less annoying QS meals we had that week. So I guess I’m a bit of a PR convert…
It's all good. I like the theming. Right next door is Mama Melrose, which to me is a hidden gem that usually has availability.

Totally agree !!! We had MM ressies one day during our July trip, but the day before had a really big meal--- (Cancelled MM the night before) - It was really hot, and we were not that hungry- Went to PR (not first time) -- shared a bunch of smaller portions--- Salad (very fresh), pizza, and a meatball sub- Agree, the ice water while waiting hit the spot- And I like the tables--- always feels very roomy ! And it was perfect, because DS10 had just made hit lightsaber, and the booths have very long benches/seats, so it fit !!! :))

So does this mean that resort guests will be able to make a “single ride selection” at 7:00 am and then can’t make another selection until they use their first selection?

That's how I'm interpreting it ... which adds some strategy if you rope drop. And if you're already up at 7:00 AM there's a decent chance you may be looking to rope drop anyway

Everyone can make a single Genie+ reservation at 7am, Resort Guests can also make the individual attraction selections at 7am which are an additional fee. Offsite or day of guests will wait till park opening for that

Ok so I would be able to purchase 2 additional rides from those listed for each park...

Genie + (if paid for) means you can select one attraction from a set list at 7a.m. The additional fee attractions (do they even have a name?) can be purchased at 7a.m. for onsite guests, but you can only choose a total of 2 from all parks and they do not have to be in the same park. So, you could purchase Mine Train and Rise of the Resistance, but you would not be able to also purchase Remy.

Right?

I thought only select Disney Resort guests can do the single G+ reservation at 7AM ... along with the additional 'tier 1' selections for an added fee

They’ve referred to that as individual attraction selections for now. Hopefully that gets a better name.

There’s a post in here that clarified that a bit further, and the blog post I shared from DFB only implies that resort guests get the early tier 1 access. Everyone can get 1 genie+ attraction at 7am is my understanding so far.
